Friendly Staff and clean rooms. The reviews were a little mixed so we were a little worried but our room was really clean. The hot breakfast buffet has so many options to chose from - waffles, eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits and gravy, donuts, danish, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal and oatmeal plus so much more, we were there for 5 days and loved that there was a different option so we did not have to eat the same thing over and over. Staff was great. Beds clean and comfortable. Pool area was clean but old. Same with the room. Cracks in shower wall old carpet, but for the price it was fine. I wish I could give zero stars. I was reading the reviews on my way up to this hotel and I didn't yeild the warning! YEILD THE WARNING. My first room the door didn't latch and deactivated the key card every time you used it, window didn't latch from outside. Fridge had crumbs, bathroom had hair all over and toddler pouches were found in the room upon checking in. our room was moved and the second room that was checked by the fromt desk had blood on the wall and POOP yes poop on the mattress. the front desk worker had an attitude but after talking with her, she's also upset as she had no support, she has let management know about issues with no support; this place should be condemmed. we were not the only ones with issues!! 3 of the hockey family's we traveled with had to move rooms for biohazard waste found in the rooms. we called the best western across the street and explained the situation and were told it's a common call. best western is wonderful! I wish I could post pictures of the poopy mattress, blood on the walls and multiple other disgusting things: I will be trying to call the health department. read more

Front desk check-in was good, friendly. My room overlooked the huge pool & hot tub, but they were closed. The room was big and had a jacuzzi in the living space. The bed was very comfortable and I got a great nights sleep. The jacuzzi instructions were wrong, said you had to put your room key in the wall switch, there wasn't one. Finally figured you had to turn on one of the many wall switches (fan). The tub was clean, so I thought. There were hairs in the tub that started to float as I filled it, a lot of them. Breakfast was good, but no one had checked on it and there were no cups, no forks, and no one around. Someone finally went up to the desk for coffee cups, they gave her four. The garbage cans were overflowing. Breakfast was better tasting than the last few hotels I've been at, they just needed someone to take care of it. Took a shower after breakfast and it took 4-5 minutes for the water to get hot, had it on full hot. We had the DO NOT DISTURB sign out and the cleaning lady knocked on our door until we answered, checkout wasn't for another half hour. This could easily be a 5 star hotel with attention to detail. read more

Compared to other hotels in the area, this place is great. The front desk staff at check-in was a little rude. The rest of the staff were nice. My room smelled clean! It was a little out dated, but not gross at all. WiFi worked well. We did not have breakfast so I can't speak on that. They had water in the lobby that was warm so maybe they could keep it iced. Got in my room here and not too long after realized there was no shower curtain. Also noticed they skimped on the towels and tp. Next morning because there was no shower curtain, had to use one of the few towels they left since no shower curtain left water all over the floor. Furthermore, less towels for us to use. Next morning I told the guy at the desk the issues nicely. Requested a shower curtain, tp and more towels. Clean room, clean sheets, clean bathroom with ample towels for two. Nice that there's a soap dish. Comfortable mattress and pillows. Hot tub just the right temperature. Plenty of towels in swimming area. Shopping and at least one restaurant within walking distance. Breakfast had dry cereal, oatmeal packets, three kinds of juice, pastries, three kinds of bread, eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, good coffee. Staff at front desk friendly and helpful, both evening and morning. Housekeeping staff was also friendly and helpful. Price quoted online was much less than front desk price. read more

The accommodations were decent. In a hurry to get in and out of town. They did not disappoint with there quality and service.

Wanted to provide an updated review (May 2019) to counter the one other. 1. The hotel looks like it's been completely renovated. The rooms look high-end. This is the third hotel I've stayed in since my current visit to Sault Ste Marie and by far one of the two best (Hampton Inn being the other). However, Hampton Inn is $30 pricer for the same overall look of the rooms and amenities. Plus, you can walk across the parking lot to Apple Bees or a bit further to some shopping. 2. When we first checked in, we were politely greeting by a gentlemen at the counter and it took less than 5 minutes to get our keys. However, don't be fooled by the facade of the building. This place is massive on the inside. When I got to my door, I was surprised how large and clean the room was. Zero complaints. 3. After we woke up and read through our emails, we thought were given the wrong room (Suite, King at $100). This was not by fault of the hotel, but with the booking via Expedia. Expedia displayed the incorrect photo (Suite, King with a jacuzzi, couch, and sitting area) for the price of the room we were in. Without hesitation, the GM, Ryan, upgraded our room to the room Expedia displays. That was a class act. 4. The breakfast is fairly huge with hot and cold foods. The indoor pool is heated. You can see the room attendants actually pull all the bedding and replace them with new ones. Everyone was extremely polite during our stay. 5. Lastly, we checked out on a Tuesday to prepare for our 18 hr drive home. I explained this to pending process to Ryan and he allowed us to check out 2 hours later than usual. I'm certain this isn't the norm, but it was extremely nice to spend two more hours with family prior to our departure. Book your stay here. You'll be pleasantly surprised. read more

This place is terrible! While we were gone for the day, staff went thru all our belongings even putting belongings back in the wrong suitcases! Stole items and money from our bags. We had to file a police report! When we talked to the front desk, all they could say was the manager was gone and she'll call you. I've called every day for a week and the manager has been "gone" every day. No one has called me back! read more

Be warned--this hotel literally gave us signs NOT to stay. We have stayed at Comfort Inns across the country, and have never had an issue. However, for the first time EVER, we left a hotel in under an hour without completing our stay. Upon check in, the clerk was very unsure of herself and shaky. She was nice enough and trying, but you could tell she was nervous (about what, I could not tell you) and had zero confidence. We had a suite, and the only window in the room faced the interior of the pool area. There were only two people swimming, and it was VERY loud in the room. Our feet stuck to the floor on the tile in the room. Every light switch and elevator button we touched zapped us. The hallways are very narrow and the entire place is very poorly laid out. There was no ice machine on our floor. When my husband was looking for the ice, an entire hallway on the second floor reeked of cigarette smoke and pot. Trying to make the best of things, we headed to the pool area. The hot tub was not working. I called the front desk, and she told me it was broken and she tried to tell everyone when they checked in. Nope, I had no idea. Another sign, and honestly the one that put me over the edge. I just wanted to sit in the hot tub and decompress on the first night of our very anticipated vacation, and when I learned that was NOT going to happen, I knew fate was turning on the sirens and lights. I called another local hotel to get a room for the night as my family gathered their things and re-loaded them into our truck. The lobby was full of people, and the poor clerk was almost in tears. It took over 10 minutes, but she was able to cancel the charge for the room we would not be staying in. She was still alone, and was shaking even more. A few miles away, we were greeted by a very calm and confident person behind the front desk. We checked into the good smelling non-sticky room, and spent the evening in the large, clean pool area with big windows to the outdoors and the wonderful working hot tub. read more

So, I spent the last week here - 5 nights, 5 days. All in all, not a bad stay, considering the price ($75/night). The rooms were clean, they had free WiFi, and a free breakfast every morning (just okay, if you're a breakfast snob). It's also well situated, right off of the 75 entrances, and close to the main commercial drag of the Sault. It's a quick drive to get by the Locks, and all the more local restaurants. However, you should know that the building itself looks like it has not been updated in a really long time. The walls are peeling, there are exposed ceiling fixtures, and the bathrooms look/feel old. Also, the rooms lack outlets for you to plug in all of your electronics that you are probably traveling with. I know I had to unplug the alarm clock and one of the lamps in order to charge my phone and laptop. Also, the gym -- while equipped with new equipment -- is also lacking a water fountain (but, there is one in the pool area), and during the week I was there, it didn't seem like anyone ever cleaned it (the laundry basket for towels was always the same amount, and the towels were never replenished). Don't worry, I was a conscientious gym user, and always wiped down the machines I used. But, all in all, I would probably stay here again. For the price, and the ease of travel, it's worth it. read more

We rented a set of adjoining rooms for three nights and were very impressed with everything about the hotel. The rooms were updated and clean. There was a nice pool/ hot tub area and the sauna even had a television in it. The breakfast had a nice variety. All the staff that we came in contact with were very friendly and accommodating to our needs. There was a minor issue at the end of our stay with the key card lock not opening on one of the doors and we had to be given an actual key to open it rather than the key card (but no big deal, these things sometimes happen). We will definitely stay again when we are in the area. It was a great value for the price! read more

Have been staying at this hotel for years. Stay there when in town visiting family. Recently raised pricing. breakfast area ceiling stained and peeling off. Wall paper is peeling off also. My bed was like sleeping in a hammock or on top of a sway back mule - needed Advil every time I woke up. Staff was nice and helpfull. May look around at some other hotels in the area. read more

I gave the management of this hotel every opportunity to reverse the charge for staying at this hotel. Had that happened, this review would not have appeared. This is all facts, no exaggeration. We were on motorcycle and really looking forward to a swim and hot tub, no mention when we reserved the room that both were under construction. They should not have assigned anyone to this room and we should have refused it. No covers on the outlets, the shower curtain was too short to stay in the tub creating a very slippery floor, no towel bars, there was conditioner but no shampoo, the coffee pot was missing parts so not usable. In the middle of the night another party was assigned this room so we heard the card in the lock and attempts to enter. This was followed by a phone call from the front desk asking why we were in the room. The person who was in charge of the breakfast used the same gloved hand on the doorknob then refilled the sausage warmer with sausage. They did reduce the charge by $10. I would give a lower score than one if I could. read more

This hotel is in desperate need of an update. Rooms are small and they don't have new style tvs. Plumbing in our room was not good. The sink and tub were very slow to drain. Our heat unit also didn't work. I would never stay here again. read more
