The stay was exactly what we needed. A place to rest for the night while traveling. Nothing too fancy. But what made this a 5 Star review is the customer service from the front desk. Dante was the best. I had low expectations (it's not Disney world. Hahah). But Dante was so cool. He was so chill and humble while making sure we were set for the night. We had a minor issue, (not his fault) but he made sure to apologize on behalf of the hotel &correct the mistake quickly for us. This place was disgusting. It smelt like smoke in the hallways, there was brown stains on the bed sheets, and the room looked like it wasnt cleaned. Pretty sure the workers LIVE there, and they smoke behind the garbage bins outside. It is literally disgusting there but the workers are nice.. But the place itself is nasty. The whole experience went well especially for someone with no place to stay . I reserved a spot via website and check in was easy and quick . The room was clean and tidy with only a couple cosmetic repairs needed. For example the door needs replacing and the sink drain plug needs some attention so one can use the drain lift to move the stopper up and down instead doing it with the hand . The staff were friendly and accommodating. It was especially nice to have lemon water in lobby to freshen the water bottle and quench the thirst after a warm day in the sun . read more

Pretty much your average Comfort Inn. This location does a nice job on the breakfast. Attentive and clean tables, which was very nice. The after hours coffee is pretty much nonexistent. My biggest issue was when we arrived at the room. It wasn't vacuumed at all and there were dirty towels that we're not picked up. That was the first time I've ever seen that issue. This place is right off the highway which is great! And that's about where the good things end. The room: when you walk in you are starring right at the sink. Then the bathroom hosts the shower and toilet. Very strange. Beds are fine, decor is alright. We had a room where the window was very clearly visible cracked. Told the front desk, but no one cared. Oh well. This place used to have a pool outdoors but it became a grass filled hole. They are pet friendly and don't charge for pets. However the prices are exuberant for what you get. Breakfast is included but very poor selection. Free WiFi but no password at all so unless you have VPN, don't use it. That's pretty much the most dangerous thing. Also, the walls might as well be made of sheets. Can hear the next rooms conversation with no issue. Thus very not ok. Elevator is outdated and works but not that well. Doors start opening before it even arrives. Basically, don't waste your money Also notice the dark ring inside the toilet bowl, clear hasn't been thoroughly cleaned in ages read more

Literal robbery for how much I paid for four nights here. The rooms are filthy- my initial room had pubes and hair on the floor and pee on the side of the toilet and under the seat so I asked for a quick wipe down from housekeeping but because it was around 4pm I was just given a new room... which was also filthy but I guess on the upside, there was no pee on the seat so I just took it because I couldn't cancel my reservation. First woman I talked to was rude-- it put a really sour start to our stay. God forbid she have to take one extra step to change what debit card I wanted to pay with. Their card system was also down so instead of just apologizing and trying to figure out another way she blamed us. To top it off-- we had house keeping come one single time during our four day stay to take our trash and our face wash (?) went missing from our shower and our door was not shut/locked completely when they left. We did run into a couple friendly staff at the front but man I've never been so disappointed in a stay. I would avoid this place at all cost. read more

The sink doesn't produce hot water. When calling the front desk, their response was "Have you tried letting it run for twenty minutes?" Twenty minutes? Every time I wash my hands? "Well, you're at the end of the hall and it takes a long time for the hot water to get there. I don't know what else to tell you." We checked in at 3:30 am and crashed into bed - fortunately... If I had seen the bathroom before laying in the bed, I would not have laid down. I went into the bathroom when we woke up and there was fresh water in the shower and on the floor, dirt in the shower, and pubic hair on the floor. The doors are rotting away in the bathroom, the frames to the ceiling tiles are rusted. There is no sink stopper and the sink doesn't drain - the sink fills up. The carpets also weren't vacuumed. I called in the cleaning crew from the hall to ask them to clean the bathroom. They indicated that they think I was given a room that was out of service because they were fully booked. I emailed the specific hotel and got an apology indicating they were sorry they couldn't exceed my expectations. Exceeding expectations??? I would be happy with met expectations with a clean room that is not a health hazard. If any other hotel had a vacancy in the area, I would have switched. It was so disgusting it made my skin crawl. I emailed the corporate Guest Reservations email with pictures, and they did not respond. I followed up with another email and got no response. I called customer service, and they said someone would reach out to me. That was over a week ago, and nothing. They know and don't care. The reviews indicate the rotting has been going on since 2022, which management responded to thanking the reviewer for letting them know. I see from other reviews that I am not the only person that has had pubic hair on their floor. I would NEVER stay in this hotel or any other Comfort Inn/Choise Hotel if you can avoid it. Room provided by VA requested wheelchair accessible room with two beds and roll-in shower. Upon arrival, only one bed, room was not vacuumed, stepped on stones. Rug was unclean and should be washed. Could not access entire room with my wheelchair due to distance between the end of the bed and the TV as well as the side of the bed which was closest to the bathroom due to a setae. An unknown note was left on the door??? Bathroom was not a roll-in shower and floor had dirt and hair. Area around toilet was calcified and unclean. Sink was separating from wall and handicap railing on right side of toilet was loose. Most importantly, the ceiling looked as if it had mold on it. VA provided room so we are grateful to them. BUT this hotel is a disaster! Nicest thing about it was the two baskets of dead plants hanging in planters at the entrance. Room (227) - decent size but from that point it was dirty, carpets smell but not as horrible as hallways. Furnishings are old, beds were.... Beds. Little fridge was clean and working. Room had not been vacuumed, multiple beer bottle caps on floor, food crumbs... just not clean. Bathroom - HORRIBLE!!! Shower was discussing, shower curtain rod falling off the wall. No ventilation and black mold throughout the entire drop ceiling. Toilet seat very loose, broken and the bowl hasn't been "cleaned" in a good while. General Areas - decently furnished but carpets are filthy, elevator smells like wet dog and urine. Breakfast Bar -Tattered! Food - paper thin "bacon" still partially alive, frozen packaged cheese omelette. Waffle maker was nice, no spray to keep mix from sticking. Cereal bins limited and mostly empty, fruit looked fresh. Reception - the woman working SHOULD NOT have been working... Reason - She obviously hates her job / people in general and she was sick as hell and hacking up a lung. This place is absolute disgrace. I would absolutely not stay at this hotel. The manager of this hotel should be ashamed. NEVER USE A DEBT CARD AT THIS PLACE. The front desk lady rang up THREE EXTRA CHARGES AMOUNTING TO $2000 and held it for SIX DAYS. This was on top of $726 we paid for the room for 5 days. That is called fraud holding $2000 extra dollars. I tried talking to them BUT NONE OF THEM CARED...THEY SEEMED TO BE IN A DAZE. My money was returned six days later. But why is someone allowed to hold that much money from someone else's account? The staff was fine, but this place is disgusting. The first room they gave me the refrigerator didn't work so they moved me to the room next door. The a/c is in poor condition, the wall paper is bubbled on the wall, and the tub has a dirty ring around i. On Thursday morning I asked for my tub to be cleaned properly so I could take a shower when I returned, but it was exactly the same. I took a face cloth and wiped the dirty line with a little pressure and brought the facecloth to the front desk Friday mornin. I was offered to use a different room for a shower. Agree with others-not as nice as other Comfort Inns I've stayed at. The door leading to the back parking lot was left unlocked after 10pm. Anyone can come and go out that door. Someone was smoking in the hallway, which made my room smell. I really questioned whether my room was cleaned. My towels looked like they weren't washed, all folded differently, and were wrinkled. There were gross sticky red stains on one and a red stain (similar to the towel) on the bedspread. There was a dead bug chilling on the floor. The carpet was stained all over, toothpaste stain in the shower that should have been wiped, and lots of other dirt all over. The floor was uneven. Not sure what the lumps were. Noise-the room itself was noisy with a low gurgling, could have been the fridge, not sure. But located by a post office and they began pounding things at 4 am and again at 5. Windows were shut. Front staff were fine. Friendly and helpful. The beds were uncomfortable made worse by really soft pillows. There is no top sheet, just a fitted sheet and the never washed comforter with stains. So, what's touching your body was used by many before you and most likely never cleaned. I won't be staying here again. read more

If I could leave 0 stars, I would. I will start by saying that the gentleman that checked us in at 9:30 at night was very friendly and informative. It took no more than 2 minutes. He was great- probably the best part of this stay. You could tell that Comfort Inn tried to put on a bandaid, so to speak, instead of actually putting money in to renovate it. Walking down the halls, there were open doors (not to hotel rooms, like storage rooms or something) that looked so creepy and looked as if people actually lived there! We got in the elevator to go to our room on the 2nd floor and when I pressed 2, nothing lit up. I didn't know If it worked until we went up and it jerkily stopped at floor 2. We got to our room and it was HOT in there. I went to turn on the air conditioning to find out that it only blows hot air. I tried to turn on the fan to find, again, that it only blows hot air. I opened the window which faced a truck warehouse right outside, so it was super loud all night. There was a pillow thrown in the corner behind a chair near the window. It's apparent that they don't clean too thoroughly. I got some waters from the gas station across the street and put them in the fridge before we left for the day. We got back and I was looking forward to a refreshing cold water, and guess what? The fridge didn't work at all (yes it was plugged in). We went in the pool our last night. The guy who checked us in checked on us briefly, which was nice. The pool was barely heated and the pool towels they have in there are very small. I'm 5'6 average build and there's no way that one of those towels would have been able to wrap around my waist or shoulders just for me to run back to my room. Thankfully, I was smart enough to foresee that and brought a towel from the room. We got back to the room to shower. There was very minimal water pressure! I went to adjust the pressure and all 4 settings did the same pathetic thing. As for the breakfast that was included: I would recommend the cereal. The bacon was not cooked and even the scrambled eggs weren't too good. I was intrigued by the "make it yourself" waffle maker, but a woman was making waffles for her whole family and took up both machines, so I just had cereal. The coffee was not good either, and I'm never picky about coffee. This is a convenient hotel right off 91 so it was easy to find and parking was plentiful. Beds were fine, not memorable but not uncomfortable. Free wifi was fast. Bottom line: I'll NEVER stay at a Comfort Inn EVER again. read more

For the price of this room we were very inconvenienced. We were on the third floor with our dog. When we went down for breakfast there was a womens soccer team taking over the breakfast area, no room to sit no coffee. No ice machine. Our room door sticks on the floor when trying to open it. The door handle literally fell off in my hand when closing it. The bathroom smelled like someone had been smoking in it. We know the hotels jack up their prices because of the peak fall season but we were expecting a little nicer stay for the price. read more

We didn't have many options available when we were late booking for our child's college family weekend. We were happy to find this nearby place at what we thought was a fair price. This is one of the dingiest properties we've ever seen. Everything about the property screams neglect from the moment we walked in. Indifferent desk clerk. Broken water cooler. Burned out bulbs on an elevator button. Musty and dark corridors. Burned out bulbs in our room. Broken thermostat in our room. We were able to manage temperature by opening our window (which couldn't be locked closed for security). There was a dirty q-tip lodged inside the heating unit. The one upholstered chair in the room was too unappealing to use. The only positives were a quiet location and beddings that seemed well laundered. This room would have been fairly priced at half of what we paid. Maybe we just got gouged for family weekend, but we're never coming back and wouldn't recommend to anyone. read more

The elevator broke during our stay but the staff was telling everyone as they walked in and apologizing. This hotel was one of the worst I've ever stayed at. The front desk staff was very rude and unprofessional. Our room had not been vacuumed- there was dirt all over the carpet, and the toilet was dirty also. The carpets in the hallways are all filthy and stained, and the breakfast was pretty bad too. For $200, I expect a lot more. The staff from the front desk, to housekeeping, to the breakfast person, were all miserable and did nothing but the minimum. It seems that they all hate their jobs. Some years ago, I stayed at a Comfort Inn in North Conway NH when we were on vacation. It exceeded my expectations. For the price, the room was comfortable and pleasant, and the staff were nice. It served a breakfast the kids liked. It seemed a good step above, say, Motel 6 and Super 8s and Best Westerns. Accordingly, I locked into my head that when I can stay at a Comfort Inn, I would. So, when I went to visit Hanover NH, I looked for a nearby Comfort Inn. And In the case of the Comfort Inn at White River Junction VT, it was also less expensive than competitors in the area, so seemingly all the better, right? Over the years, I have concluded that a lot of these chains, rather than building from scratch with certain standards for their rooms and amenities, instead often buy existing hostelries and simply rename them, possibly doing a little cosmetic upgrading. I think that must be what happened here. Or Comfort Inn has changed its standards. Or Comfort Inn doesn't know what's going on with their place in White River Junction. Or my recollections of the Comfort Inn in North Conway are too rosy. Or something... In any case, this wasn't a particularly nice place to stay. Wasn't awful, to be sure (see my review of the Days Inn in Tonawanda, near Buffalo...), but it wasn't nice. The woman at the desk at check-in wasn't vaguely friendly or welcoming, and check in seemed to take forever (though that's really the fault of how many people showed up at the same time as we did). When we entered the room, the toilet was running (did someone use the toilet just before we entered the room? Did housekeeping not notice the toilet was running when it finished cleaning the room? Whatever... there are no good explanations...). Phone calls to the front desk were allowed to ring and ring and ring. And -- and this is a real kicker, because most motels, regardless of anything else, have ample hot water for showers -- the shower was barely warm. Really more of a 2.5 (I ended up giving that Days Inn two stars, and this was certainly better than that, but the lack of hot water for the shower was just ridiculous). Still, my advice would be to look elsewhere. read more

We stayed here on two separate nights. One night was on our way northward and, two days later, we stayed here again as we made our way back to Jersey. The front desk staff was helpful on both nights. The hotel is undergoing renovations (when you have breakfast, they have little signs on the tables that inform customers about renovations and dates). The first room we stayed in must have been renovated. Carpeting was very clean and, overall, the room was an excellent value for the price. The second room we stayed in, however, must not have been renovated yet. The carpeting was stained. The worst part of the second room was that we could not control the air conditioning/heating unit. We tried turning off the unit altogether (it wasn't a hot night, but it was not incredibly cold) and the unit would not turn off. That was frustrating. Also, in the second room, the shower curtain was not fastened well enough and water kept coming out of the shower. Even though our second stay was not as great as the first stay, I'd still recommend this place. For us, White River Junction's Comfort Inn was a good stopping point on the highway for a good night's rest. The breakfast is also decent too. Most smaller hotels advertise "free breakfast" and all you get is cereal and bagels. The spread here was decent and saved us some $$$ in the morning. A warning though---once you check into the hotel, you might as well STAY in your room. There's nothing to visit in the area at night...just gas stations and fast food. During the day, it's worth a short ride to go to Queechee State Park. read more

Great location. Comfy bed. Clean room and bathroom. Nice set up - with a microwave, fairly big refrigerator. Our service was wonderful and pleasant. There was a little misunderstanding. Around 9:40 pm, while we were napping apparently the people that were supposed to be in our room recieved their keys. We were originally supposed to be in the room next door, she opened the door and I awoke and said "I didn't know you left" To my mom. She got out of bed and I was like... whats going on? The women at the door apologized quite a bit and returned to the front desk and got some new keys. The phone rang a few minutes later to some more apologizing! At this point, I was done my nap and ready to take a walk to talk to my SO! Here i was worried I wouldn't be able to wake up from my nap. One star is being generous - Absolutely atrocious conditions for this property. Checked in around 10:30pm Friday night, opened door to the room to find that it had not been cleaned. Beer cans and trash strewn about, beds not cleaned or made up, the toilet had piss in it, the bathtub was disgusting. Called the front desk - they had no extra rooms so had to wait for the cleaning people to show up (a leisurely 15 minutes later) - took them 30 minutes to "clean" the room, which wasn't very clean. Still dirt and hair on the floor, hair in the bedsheets even though watched them strip the beds. Had to ask them to actually clean the tub, instead of just rinse it out. Breakfast the next morning was no better - eggs had lumpy, hard parts within. Guess they didn't mix the egg batter well enough? Greek yoghurt was still frozen in the middle. Hot water ran out so couldn't even make oatmeal. Had the 4th floor meeting room reserved, with A/V support, for Saturday evening meeting. But it wasn't set up to use the A/V and the person that was supposed to do it didn't, and no one else was available. So our meeting with 30 people was reduced to using whatever personal laptops people brought. Completely unacceptable. I have stayed at many Comfort Inns across the US and this property is, by far, the absolute WORST. I'll sleep in the truck next time. DO NOT STAY HERE. read more

I do not like to complain, but my curtain has toothpaste on it. It's something so easily fixed if they spent just 3 min with a wet rag! And I think its kinda funny all the things that can get into the room through the fan. I had mice one morning...a wasp the following. Then the mice were back. Refrigerators don't come with the room, so I paid for one to be put in, it come with a microwave which was thoughtful. I would have been happy with it if the thermostat wasn't set on the coldest and it froze my lettuce. Also, they came with it being cold already, however they did not fully plug the cord into the outlet so it only looked like it was plugged in....I came back that night (8 hours later) to a warm fridge. I was staying in room 112, maybe its just the room?? Beware! And yes, everyone does seem to loathe their job here. read more

This place is ok for what you pay for... we came with a group of people, reserved 3 rooms. Our bathroom was desperately in need of repair. Wallpaper peeling, missing bracket on the back of the toilet, tub needs to be replaced. The carpet was sooo dirty in our room, I didn't feel comfortable taking off my shoes. The other rooms had similar issues, stains on the furniture, animal hair on surfaces...... I would not choose to stay here again.. there are better options! read more

Desk clerk kept us waiting to register while answering the phone. Went for a shower and found the hot and cold are reversed. A spider appeared in the folds of the shower curtain, a black beetle ran along the bathroom floor, and the shower curtain rod sagged so the curtain slid to the middle, leaving both ends exposed. The a wolf spider scurried down the wall by the desk -- all within ten minutes. I dispatched the vermin and reported the insect problem the next morning and got a shrug and "I'll tell them." I am writing this for my brother and sister-in-law who are both in their 80's. Upon check out they discovered that the battery in their vehicle had to be replaced, The assistant manager (sorry, forgot name) went beyond expectations in helping them. She made many phone calls to get information on where they could get a battery replaced. Her efforts were not made in vain. She was able to locate a local garage that could tow the vehicle to their garage and got the battery and replaced it. She was so kind and understanding, fantastic customer service. We all know that it easily found today. Aside from this, they had a great stay at the hotel. read more

This was a very nice motel. The room was in good shape and was very clean. The breakfast was above average (containing scrambled eggs and sausage patties along with all of the norms like waffles, bagles and cereal). The coffee was always very warm throughout the day so if you wanted a cup of coffee outside of the breakfast hours, all you need to do is to go to the lobby (there is a coffee pot in each room if you feel inclined to brew your own coffee as well). This location offers an indoor pool (no hot tub) which is very nice (this pool is not heated and it was very cold). There are a bunch of lounge chairs and tables to which you can use with plenty of power outlets in case you want to use computers or charge any electronic devices. The shower heads stood out and were very nice. All in all, an above average Comfort Inn. read more
