Great location, OK rooms. You really can't beat the location at the crossroads of two major interstates, making getting anywhere in Vermont or New Hampshire a breeze. Parking is a bit tight at peak foliage season, even on a weeknight, and shared with the Holiday Inn next door. Rooms were a bit dated with signs of wear and tear, but nothing was really lacking. I spoke to hotel and to super.com and got no help, discount, or credit. The table and chair in our room was not usable. I asked for it to switched or fixed and was told no. Me and my mother are handicap, the only solution was to move rooms, but was not going to help us pack, move or unpack our things, so we couldn't move. Management must have turned off heat to save money, that's barely acceptable warmth for our rooms, most definitely not ok for swimming. Rooms were filthy and barely cleaned. Lighting in the room is poor, barely any elec. outlets so charging devices was challenging, door fixtures broken which made entering and exiting our room difficult. We travel with two canines so this hotel was very accommodating. We stayed for one night. If you have a dog you will have to pay $25 per dog. This is the first place I've been to where they dna swab all of the dogs who stay at the hotel so if there is dog poop outside that someone left then they have it dna tested and charge that person $250. The room was clean and roomy - the ground floor room we were in had a sliding glass door to a grassy area outside so it was extremely easy to potty our dogs. They have tea bags and coffee in the lobby at no extra charge. The staff were very thorough and pleasant. Would definitely stay here again. It is not cheap though, for one night with 2 dogs it came out to $260. I feel like the cost should include breakfast but that's just me. read more

We wanted to leave but there were no more rooms anywhere from White River to Burlington. One star because the Girl at the front desk was nice and comped our room and gave our daughter Ben and Jerry's after she was traumatized by the huge flying bug dive bombing her. Last minute reservation booked this past Friday for a 1 night stay Saturday. Conveniently located right off of 91, finding the White River Inn was a breeze. Super easy check in and loved the King 1BR Suite that we secured. The room was spotless and you could tell they took the extra necessary steps to have the place ready for our arrival. No old carpets here. Everything looked updated and very spacious. Hand sanitizing stations in the lobby, outside the elevators, etc. and the set of sheets/blanket for the pull out sofa (upon request) was handed off right out of the laundry. Parking was safe and did not witness any "shady" characters as others mention in these reviews. Shout out to Big Fatty's BBQ a mile down the street. Highly recommend. Balcony was a bonus and the rate ($88) could not be anymore attractive for one night. read more

It was one of the few spots left for a last minute overnight ski trip. I paid $137/night in booking.com. Overall, it was not as bad as I anticipated. It was no different than any other chain hotel with the continental breakfast. We had a 2 double (or queen?) room. The room was very spacious. It had a fridge and microwave. Table with 2 chairs, tv with cable. The sink vanity is in the room with a wall dividing it and then the toilet and shower in the enclosed bathroom space. The bed was comfortable enough. It was clean. It was a bit dated, but overall not bad. For the price, I would return again, if I couldn't find anything for a comparable or better price in closer proximity to the mountain. The breakfast had bread, bagels, muffins, cereals, instant oatmeal, juices, yogurt, coffee. No hot foods. It was about 45-50 minutes from Killington mtn. Nothing fancy but not so gross that I was nervous and wouldn't want to touch anything. Bonus is an indoor pool, if you are interested in that or have children that would like to swim. read more

Meanest KAREN RACIST staff in history! I brought in balloons for a party, and the two ladies at the front reported me to the old lady manager since they could not face me themselves haha. The first thing the manager asked was if I was a guest. Straight up racist question. They all told me they would not let me check in with the balloons since the guests won't feel safe around them. Dang I'm sure my American friends would be allowed to decorate the employees' purses with balloons and even look inside them haha. Maybe only white balloons are allowed haha? Have you ladies ever been invited to a party? Should I assume you all are jelly haha? Indians can have fun too FYI! The Karen gang at the front desk needs to learn to look beyond a person's skin color and decorations. Maybe a college degree would help haha, not to mention a graduation party haha. This is from my experience only. This is my second time staying at this place. The first time was pre coivd and it was not that bad. This time it was HORRIBLE. I stay in suite 307 and the people above me 407 were horrible neighbors up all times of the night moving furniture and stumping in place on purpose all times of the day. When I complain to the front desk they always said that they would call them and talk to them which was a lie. They did nothing. I advised you to not stay here and if you just have to dont stay in suite 307 you will not get any sleep. For what they charge you they need to invest in new furniture cause what they have is wear out. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I was in town for one night for a funeral. The lobby was nice, but as I was waiting to check in, a gentleman was chatting with the lady at the desk trying to clarify a billing error. The conversation that went back-and-forth between the two of them seem to imply that he was a long-term resident at the hotel, which made me wonder if part of the hotel was for low income housing. I got my key, and started to my room. The hallway was dark and filthy. The rugs were threadbare and the entire area smelled like cigarettes, even though the entire hotel is supposed to be non-smoking. My room was tired and smelled like perfume heavily sprayed over cigarette odor. The tub was stained and cracked, the heater/AC unit was broken and the window wouldn't lock. The rug had a huge stain near the kitchenette and the walls were paper thin. Outside the back door where I parked my car, there were cigarette butts everywhere. Trash littered the parking lot and it was overall disgusting and sad. After returning to my room at approximately 7:00 that night, I heard a loud noise from below my room. It continued and even got louder, and at about 9:30, I called the front desk to complain. They informed me that maintenance was in a room below me on the first floor power washing a room preparing it to be repainted. They assured me they would stop. The power washing continued until close to 11 that night. Power washing at 11 at night??? In the morning when I spoke to a supervisor, they were rude and dismissive. This was a very unpleasant experience. Do not stay there, the money you save is not worth it. read more

On the 22nd of June, my friend I booked a two bed suite for one evening at White River Junction Inn and Suites. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a kind front desk representative whom could not have been more considerate or hospitable. Unfortunately, our room was genuinely awful. Within moments of entering our room, both my friend and I could smell the stench of cigarette smoke through our masks. As we had just signed a sheet saying we would not smoke in the room, we were suprised and disgusted. We called the front desk to switch rooms, but none were available and it was described to us that the reason for the stench was because our room was next to the smoking area outside the hotel. This was incorrect as we saw no evidence of a smoking sign anywhere near the exterior patio of our room. In addition, one of the bed's pillows had been scattered across the foot of the bed as opposed to lining the headboard. Various stains of size and color (yellow, green, and even red) scattered the linens, floor, and ceiling. The light in the rest room did not turn on for 5 minutes after having flipped the switch, there was a large crack in the bathroom tile, and most notably, the new linen that was brought to our room contained multiple insects. The only pleasant part of our experience was getting a refund and leaving. I would not reccomend staying in this facility even if it was your only option. Please save your money and stay across the parking lot or maybe even just camp out in your car. read more

So I stayed at this hotel for a year and a half with my critically ill Baby on a central line and feeding tubes. Because of Covid they do not clean rooms and if they did clean your rooms their workers are so Shystie you wouldn't want to allow them in your room. The big reason I am writing this review though is because they steal mail and they're so desperate for employees that they don't fire the people who committed the crimes instead they cover for them. My package was from Nordstrom and had tracking on it It was around Christmas time and they assumed I would be too busy with my sick child to notice a package missing. I completely caught the worker 'Missy' In a blatant lie about stealing my mail and when I brought it to the managers attention the manager covered for her knowing damn well that she stole from me. I contacted Nordstrom they are Opening a mail fraud investigation against them at this very time. Do not have your mail sent there because although there are cameras over the mail delivery area it does not make a difference they will steal your package regardless and make up some excuse. Also there is a ton of drug activity suicides and deaths that happened in the year and a half that I stayed here. Almost everyone on the bottom floor has a pet in their room and it smells like ass in there they pile the garbage high in the hallways and take three days to pick it up....From my experience this is the last hotel I would stay in in White River Junction I would stay at the super eight first! read more

Room was dirty and when I asked the front desk to be changed to a cleaner room they accommodated me but never informed me it would cost me more than what I booked it at. I had to adjust my plans to stay at another major hotel chain in the area because the days I needed shifted and this hotel had rooms available. It was slightly cheaper and I have to say I got exactly what I paid for. My room was large for the price with a nice sitting area with a couch. It has everything you would expect from a moderate priced chain hotel. Some pieces of the room were dated (like the GE heating/AC unit) but perfectly functional. Breakfast the first day was lackluster but improved as we went into the weekend. I didn't see any of the unsavoriness that was mentioned in the other reviews. I was a little concerned about that on booking but the hotel and room were clean, the employees helpful. I'm nit picking a bit at a 4 star review but I usually reserve 5s for things that blow my mind. This hotel did everything it needed to. I just stayed at this property for four nights. The room smell was so bad we ended up putting dryer sheets in the air vents in the room and spraying air freshener which really didn't help much. The air conditioning did not work very well so the furniture and carpets were damp. Even my clothing hanging in the closet was damp and smelled. The furniture and carpets were also filthy. The place was fine, stayed at better and worse. Place was clean, bed was comfy. What is with hotels that offer king sized beds but have standard pillows! They all seem to do it. King bed should have king pillows. Room was large, looked like new dresser and nightstand (only one). Granted wall art in hotels is usually tacky but there was none, bare walls. Heat wave and the a/c worked fine. Pool area was clean pool warm enough for me but not the other half. Breakfast okay, coffee Probably would try another hotel in the area before going back only because of cost. This is an interesting place. I had a reservation, made the trip there to and thought that I had really gotten a great deal! The lobby is very nice and it seemed well maintained. The lady at the desk was so nice! I start to head to my room, which was in an attached building that is just not up to the same standards as the area you see when you first arrive. I stay at a lot of hotels and like to think that I am pretty well trained at turning on a light switch. Well, the light over the sink wouldn't turn on. The lady came to see if she could figure it out and she couldn't so she switched me to another room. I got my things unpacked and checked the light over the sink--it worked; YAY! It's the small things sometimes that make me happy. After a couple of hours of work, I went to turn on the light in the room where the tub is (which is a separate room from the sink) and those lights didn't work in this room! I just stayed in the room anyway and showered in the dark. There appears to be an electrical issue here. I hope they get it figured out before there is a serious problem. Both rooms were pretty clean and the bed was comfortable. read more

I'm a travel RN and I stayed at White River for about 2.5 months. I have to say that this is one of the best extended stays I've ever been in. I had a room on the top floor (4th floor) and the room layout is similar to a 1 bedroom apartment. What impressed me was the strong wi-fi which was included. So I never had an issue with streaming content on my computer and iPad. The room had adequate amenities typically found in an extended stay. And when I worked nights, the curtain darkened the room enough so I was able to sleep comfortably during the day. It also has a/c which I found not many places in the Upper Valley to have. Some people will say that there are shady people hanging around the Inn. Well yeah, any hotel place that's not high end might have shady people. Just use your common sense and if you don't bother them, they won't bother you. Never had a problem with the "residence" of White River. If I come back to the Upper Valley area for work, I'd definitely stay here again. read more

So our first night we observed that the shower was never cleaned. It was full of hair, some short, some long, and a half used bar of soap and bottle of shampoo. Then I tried to use the coffee pot and there was a used coffee bag / filter in the pot. Not to mention the mug in the cabinet had a thick dark coffee ring in the base of it. We complained and they (re)cleaned our room upon request, they didn't quite do a thorough job as the same dirty mugs were in the sink and the same used bar of soap was left in the shower. I would recommend sleeping in your car before spending a dime to spend a night in this hostel passed off as an in/hotel. At least you know what where the stains in your car came from. read more

The mattress resembled one that belongs in the dumpster as did the lumpy pillows. The sheets were pilled and not sure when bedspread was washed. If you don't have time to read this review, here's the takeaway message: IF YOU LIKE MONTHLY RATES TO CHANGE WITHOUT ANY NOTICE, THIEF, AWFUL MANAGEMENT/SERVICE AND COCKROACHES, THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU, OTHERWISE, STAY VERY FAR AWAY!! I stayed here in a suite for an extended stay for 7 months. I have to admit, the room was much more than I was expecting when I first moved in. There was a full size kitchen with plenty of counter space and there were 3 closets with plenty of shelves and hangers. That's about it for the positive things I can say about this place. Now for EVERYTHING THAT WAS WRONG AND WHY YOU SHOULD STAY AWAY: 1) When were first inquired about staying here for an extended stay, we were told it would be a flat charge every month (like paying rent) and that we would not be required to give ample notice to move-out (i.e. if we wanted to move out, we could literally tell them a day in advanced and that was okay). We had planned on staying there for at least a year, but only extended our stay by 2 months at a time, in case anything happened. 6 months in, I get MULTIPLE calls to the room asking if I planned on extending my stay, each time I said yes. We went to the front desk to sign the receipt (as you must do each month they charge your card) and we're told there is a new rate. They increased the monthly charge by $200 WITHOUT GIVING ANY NOTICE! In addition, we were told that they had already put the room back up for sale for others to "rent" out starting next month because that's how far we extended it to. Obviously we were upset, who wouldn't be! An increase in the charge and no place to live the following months because they put the room up for sale! The manager told us not to get upset and that they are a hotel, not an apartment, and can change whatever they want because they run like a hotel. Absolutely AWFUL management and customer service! I get that it's a hotel, but when you know there is an extended stay guest that has been renewing every couple of months, it's just courtesy to give notice that the price was increasing and to ask if the planned move-out date was a hard date (as it hadn't been in the past). In addition, we were told we would now have to give 30 days notice to move out and that we could only extend for 3 months at a time, but that they could advertise the room for sale following those 3 months and if someone wanted it, they could pay and we would have to move out. Absolutely ridiculous!! 2) I had to go down to the front desk probably every other week to get kitchen towels because they would always forget to replace them. One time, I go to the front desk and the general manager is there. I ask for "kitchen rags". She so rudely chuckled and corrected me, "you mean kitchen cloths". She obviously knew what I meant and that was extremely unnecessary. (Side note: I had went down to get towels 2 weeks before the monthly rate change and it was the perfect opportunity to notify me, but they of course did not.) 3) Housekeeping would clean once every week. Since I was staying there for an extended stay and had all my belongings with me (Note: there is no safe in the room), I felt better about putting up some cameras (which were not discretely placed on purpose) to deter any thief from happening or to catch anything if it did happen. My 2nd to last day, I was checking the footage and I was LIVID! The housekeeping girl checked my jean jacket pocket that was hanging behind one of the barstools and then goes into the bedroom and opens the nightstand drawer, looks around, then closes it. At this point, I do not believe anything was stolen, but I have yet to review the rest of the footage from my time there. I addressed the situation with the general manager, who was apologetic and willing to work with me if anything was stolen, but had I not had the footage, I feel like this would not have been the reaction. . 4) There are cockroaches! I don't know where it came from, but there was a baby cockroach scaling the wall one night. Although your room may be clean, others may not be! 5) Housekeeping doesn't always change your sheets! There were times they just remade the bed with the sheets that were already on, or if they changed the sheets, would put the same comforter/cover back on (even though it was clearly dirty and needed to be changed). 6) You can smell other rooms' cooking as I think there is a back draft in the vent in the kitchen (there were multiple times the entire room smelled like fish until I opened a window to air it out). 7) The toiletries, dishwasher soap, paper towels, toilet paper, etc. are not restocked again after moving in. 8) You pay so much to stay there each month and the daily breakfast is not included (only coffee/tea). read more

This hotel has been pretty bad. We are on our third day and we haven't had anyone clean our room yet. The night staff was nice but the day staff keeps telling us they are too busy to address any of our concerns, a broken tub, no one emptying our garbage or making the beds, and upstairs long term residents that wake up early and therefore wake us up too (around 5:00 am). I've never been in a hotel with such bad customer service. We recommend going elsewhere. read more
