The things I enjoyed about this small locally owned massage place is they had a unique service of providing an exfoliating massage. I would suggest getting the exfoliating portion done first and using lighter massage , because parts were a little painful. The massage itself was nice. I even fell asleep during the foot massage part of it. The reasons Im giving a 1 star are for the following reasons: 1. they didn't provide water when you leave, which is common in massage businesses 2. Demanding for a certain quantity for a tip seems unprofessional to me. 3. The place has not been updated with towels and such. 4. The dogs from Petco can be heard through the walls. I understand there isn't much that can be done, but a suggestion might be to turn up the calming relaxing music or provide complimented ear plugs to mitigate the barking. 5. I am genuinely sad to write this because I have been coming here for four years and always had a great experience until now. Despite the mixed reviews, I have been a loyal customer because it is close to home and has always treated me well. I always pay upfront via Zelle and leave a generous pre tip of $15 to $20 every time. Last week my stepsister was visiting and we booked a 90 minute couples massage. My massage was fantastic and probably one of the best I have had there. Unfortunately her experience was the opposite. The therapist left the room multiple times for two to three minutes at a time and ended her session about six minutes early. She understandably chose not to tip. When we were leaving both therapists followed us out and confronted us about the tips. I explained that I always tip generously and had already done so for my massage. They continued to press us, with one even arguing over my sister's decision not to tip for unsatisfactory service. I have never been harassed over a tip before and it was uncomfortable and embarrassing. I have been a loyal almost weekly client for years, but this experience left a bad taste in my mouth. While facing down During the massage I felt she was distracted because her hands felt light at times and she would use one hand at times instead of both. The sad thing is.. I loved this place until tonight. I usually get a massage here at least once or twice a month for over a year now. I had every masseuse here and they're all wonderful, until the one I had tonight. I came in around 6pm and the hostess asked me to change and wait 10-15 mins which is fine. The massage starts and it's going fine, until she asks me to turn over and then massages my feet for a few mins and then tells me I'm done. She never massaged my head, neck, shoulder, arms, face while I'm laying face up. It's my favorite part and she skipped it. So I'm like ok, I get dressed and grabbed cash out of my wallet to hand to her. I see her standing outside and I gave her $8 which is a 14% tip, and I continued to walk towards the exit. She then goes, "oh sorry, $10." I turned around and said "I'm sorry, and check the cash because I thought I might have accidentally grabbed $1 bills and not $5 and (3) $1. It was $8 in her hand, so I said.. no, it's a tip, $8 and left. It's unfortunate that she ruined the whole experience for me and now I have to find a new place. I had the best experience the first time i came to this establishment. Today, wasn't the same experience. From the moment walking in the lady was rude that my chip wouldn't work on my card so i zelle and was ok sending the extra $2. I did not feel relaxed since the moment i walked in. I understand that Petco is next door but having to hear dogs bark for an hour straight without any accommodations to the noise or even mention anything of that. Once massage was over they didn't let me leave without tip, once i tipped they got really offended by the amount and say it's a mandatory $10 tip that i paid for the service with the $77 If It's mandatory then maybe charge in the beginning rather than cornering and being rude at the exit I tipped that amount due to the experience and what i felt was appropriate, especially since i wasn't even relaxed.
