We've just walked into our room as I write this review. It's 11:30 pm December 20th. It was the worst check in experience we've ever had. The lady at the front desk was extremely rude, cold, dismissive, rigid, very unpleasant to deal with. Her attitude was all around very horrid. It was such a painful ordeal. It is evident that she hates her job. We were so looking forward to our stay here because of all the positive reviews especially about the staff at this hotel, but unfortunately she was the complete opposite of what we were expecting. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT stay here! The staff is dismissive, lazy and come off a bit racist. The amenities are gross and need MAJOR updating, and Wyndham should drop this place IMMEDIATELY! My husband and I stayed here for a few days while visiting our father in a retirement home. Upon check in, we were immediately turned away, as we were checking in at noon, and WE ALL know what time check in is. The representative behind the desk was SO happy to scold us and turn us away TWICE, that he never bothered to pull up our reservation and see that we had indeed reserved and paid for our room starting the day prior to our arrival for that very reason. After that headache, with a work deadline quickly approaching, we get to our room and discover that we have no WiFi. Four phone calls, nonchalant conversations and three days later, we are checking out STILL without internet. As long as no one else was complaining, the employees didn't care. It wasn't their problem. We tried going to the indoor pool to relax a bit, but that was short lived. They leave a rack of pool towels big enough to dry your face, and the entry ladder to the filthy pool is an injury waiting to happen. (Back to the room we go!) The free breakfast is a nice touch, but trust me, door dash or just drive out. We have been owners with Wyndham for quite some time now, and for the first time ever, I'm embarrassed by a property. We will NEVER stay here again, and I will encourage Wyndham to take a HARD look at this property! It's completely unacceptable and the employees are in desperate need of training! read more

First time reviewing a hotel. I can say that as I moved across the country I have stayed at some hotels over the last two weeks. This is an ok hotel chain. My expectations go with the dollars I spend so I tend to be fair knowing that overall this is an inexpensive room. It is nice not great. Cool things big tv, lots of channels. Nice couch and seating area. Walk in shower with good water pressure. Ok's. Smells of cleaning solutions, not bad but enough to notice til I aired it out. Here with family for pleasure. This isn't the most upscale hotel, but if you're looking for a nice place to stay, this will do. It is around the corner from Greenbrier Mall & other shops and restaurants. It is also minutes from I-64. The check in experience was great. The staff was friendly & the room was pretty clean. My only complaint is it smells like cigarettes & an old man who just got off work and didn't take a shower before climbing in bed. Again, it is not the best hotel, but it will serve its purpose and allow me to get some rest. There are many other hotels on this street. This one could use a remodel/upgrade. It doesn't look like much from the street, but wow I was impressed. I stayed here while touring Regent Law over a weekend. Check in was easy, the staff were very pleasant and the lobby was well maintained. The rooms were very spacious, a beautiful arch in the middle of the room really opened it up and gave a sense of privacy in bed away from the "living room". The BED was great, very comfortable and soft. The continental breakfast was also great. Hot waffles, eggs, bacon, muffins, bagels, potatoes...... I would definitely stay here again. OH and the front desk recognized my ID during check out and informed me that someone turned my lost debit card in!! They genuinely seemed to care about their guests. read more

I have been trying for 4 months now to get my "stolen" points back. I reserved a room for 4 nights using points plus cash. After 1 night, my wife could not sleep on the soft mattress. I went to the front desk at 2 A.M. with the GM there and said that I couldn't be "re-accommodated" because all the mattresses were the same. She agreed to check me out the next morning and cancel the rest of my reservation. So I got 3 nights of the unused cash back, but not the points. I initiated a complaint with the website, and even though it took a while, I did get my points back. (Or so I thought). They then proceeded to take those points back, stating that since the hotel gave me my cash back (but no points) that they considered the matter resolved. The disinterest of all involved is appalling. The new GM has said he got involved, but that's apparently bogus. Spend your money elsewhere! read more

Three stories, interior entrances, two elevators, fitness room, outdoor seasonal pool. Front desk clerk was cordial and gave good directions to the best entrance to use to access my room. Beside the front desk is a small area with items for purchase, including snacks and microwavable foods. My king room was clean and spacious. Heating system worked well on a chilly night, as did the free wifi. I was impressed with the glass doored shower and the bathroom was very clean. Only concern was that I could hear persons in both adjoining rooms. A phone conversation done via speaker was very loud coming through the walls to my room. read more

I usually stay at Marriott properties but the Fairfield's systems were down and they could not check us in (which was ridiculous to start with). They could not provide a time when the system would be up so I asked where we could get a room because we had an event to attend and needed to get ready. They suggested the Comfort Suites. Staff never told me they would put a $50 hold on my credit card. Was surprised to see that when i checked my account. The hotel seemed nice when we walked in but when walking to our room there were flattened cardboard boxes taped all over the floor and caution signs everywhere. We did not feel safe there but we had no where else to go - we had called other hotels in the area. All hotels were booked. Walking through the hall at night going back to our room - all we could smell was marijuana. Not good when you are traveling with children. Hotel staff had to call police for a suspicious man outside. We will NOT be staying here again. read more

I had to stay a total of 3 nights during this COVID pandemic. I think the hotel should be extra clean because of this. I was visiting Virginia because of a funeral so it wasn't a pleasure trip. I got to my room and the ceiling was leaking in the bathroom and there were gobs of black hair all over the floor and shower. I cleaned it up. I wasn't happy about it but the next morning I realized that the comforter around my face had dry blood all over it. I felt disgusted by it and went to the desk and complained to management. She apologized and that she would bring new bedding up to my room. My new bedding was also stained up so I went to the local Walmart and bought me some. I stayed at this hotel a few years ago and it was really nice and clean. I don't know what happened. Anyway stay away unless you like filth. read more

The hotel rooms are SUPER outdated !! For the price you pay you would expect a nice room. Wrong. The A/C in the hallways are broken because it's always hot! The room A/C barely works does not cool down room enough needs to be upgraded! This hotel just needs a major overhaul. Was told by front desk "don't park in the back because there are no cameras back there" so lack of security! read more

I had a comfortable stay here. The bed and pillows were cozy and the bathroom was pretty spacious with a huge shower. Checking in was unfortunately a bit of a pain. The front desk clerk was nice, though. The fitness room was laughable it was so small, but at least the equipment worked. I'll note that despite the sprawling office park setting, most of the Greenbrier area's streets are lined with sidewalks and many are also lit, so running early in the morning outside was a breeze. Breakfast was average. There were waffles and some egg dish, but I went with my typical oatmeal and bagel. Some nice touches in the room, including a strong wifi connection and USB chargers by both the bed and in the TV room, bumped my review up from a 3 to 4. I really lucked out on the deal I got here. I called the day of to check availability and pricing, and with my AAA rate, ended up paying less than $80 before tax. Apparently the previous night they were all booked and the cheapest room was $199. I'd easily stay here again for the amount I paid. read more

Spent 4 nights here with my girlfriend at the end of August while visiting family in VA. Perfect location if you are planning on doing a lot of hanging out in the Greenbrier area. And if you are familiar with the tidewater area, it is actually a decent location, not far from I-64 and in the middle between Norfolk and VA Beach. An ok free breakfast in the mornings. Bacon and fake eggs, the make your own waffles is always a delight at these hotels, lots of choices of cereal, fresh fruit (apples, oranges, bananas), coffee, juices, breads and bagels, yogurt, Danishes, and a few other treats...all in all, better than your typical continental breakfast. We spent one of our afternoons laying at the pool that always seemed to be quite, probably due to the time of year, it was also clean. Looked like there is a grill in the pool area if you plan to do your own cooking. Our room was nice, 3rd floor, king size bed with awesome pillows. Plenty of room to snuggle in the bed all night. We also had a fridge freezer and microwave in the room. Free Internet without the annoyance of a password. For sure this is another nice Comfort Suites I have experienced, and will definitely keep this place in consideration for my next trip to VA. read more

Nice Hotel. Customer Service is excellent, called and spoke with "Heaven" and she was great. Gave me available rates for the night. Arrived at hotel around 10:30pm and she welcomed me as if it was mid afternoon. Sometimes you arrive late at a hotel and the front desk makes you feel like you woke them up. Room was very clean. Pretty quiet, thought my room is near the elevator and ice machine. Last room available, so you get what you can. Not a knock, but it comes with the proximity. I would definitely stay here again. First for the good: hotel room setup is nice, most of the staff is friendly, and the breakfast is great. Now for the bad: the cleaning crew. We stayed on the top floor of building c in 3 king suites. After the first night we came back to find that they didn't clean two of the rooms and didn't clean the coffee pot in the third room. When we called the front desk and they said they had received complaints from other rooms but that the crew left for the day so all they could do was bring us anything if we needed it. The second night they cleaned the rooms but still not the coffee pot. Third night we came back to find one room hadn't been cleaned (they left a note saying it's because one sweater was left on the bed) and a pair of dirty gloves in another room (picture included). My family stayed there for one night & the service & staff were awesome. We arrived late in the evening but the front desk was staffed & our room was ready. We needed extra towels & cloths and received them immediately. The following morning we went downstairs & were pleasantly surprised to see a large assortment of food to choose from that was being replenished regularly. Every staff member greeted us with a smile. I will definitely consider this hotel the next time we visit our daughter at NSU. It would be great if they had specials for family members of college students. My husband and I stayed at the Comfort Suites and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff was super friendly! There were tons of amenities at a reasonable rate. We particularly enjoyed the customized pillow sets, refrigerator and microwave, in-room Wifi (free!), fluffy towels, and sitting area. It was perfect for those late night crab claw runs since the restaurant only sold them from their to-go window. In-room recycling containers would be a nice convenience. I had to store recyclables myself and remember to take them out to the large bin near the ice machine. read more

First let me say it is hard to find a place to write a review... their site shows reviews but has no link to leave one ... makes you wander how or where they get them. Now for my review... We had a King room on 3rd floor, was above the outdoor pool area. Very noise even 3 floors up. Walls must be very thin because at 2 am we can hear people on both sides of us.. one side very loud TV the other was to woman talking and sounded like they where in our room with us. Room seemed clean enough. Free Breakfast was early bird gets the food. seemed every morning no matter what time we would go try to eat food was almost gone, except for scrambled eggs which smelled gross. We had to have maintence come to our room each night of our 3 night stay to get the TV to work... they had to reset it each night. Only one ice machine which was on first floor. Get it while you can when they are busy or you may be SOL. read more

We needed a place to stay so that we could attend a memorial service for close family member. The front desk staff (Jamie, Cinnamon and Kate)were super helpful with making the reservation, providing a good rate and they were accommodating as family members' plans changed (dropped one night/added another, etc.) The staff were all very professional and kind. The hotel and grounds were well kept and someone was always polishing a window or door. The free breakfast was good and items were kept well stocked by friendly employees. The rooms were comfortable and spacious. All in all, during a very difficult time, this hotel and their staffed blessed us. read more
