After traveling all evening and getting there late, I did NOT appreciate the rude call from manager at 1AM to tell us he got complaints about us "jumping" in our room. We were all in bed and trying to sleep -- other than opening the sofa bed for my kids, we were acting normal and quiet. When I pointed this out, rather than apologize, he just hung up the phone. Also during our stay the staff barely touched our room -- including leaving dirty/used coffee cups in the room and not giving us new coffee packs for the morning. This may sound minor, but as someone who travels and uses Hyatts on a regular basis, it is not the kind of quality I expected from a Hyatt-flagged hotel. I'll be staring at one of the other Hyatts next time I'm in Norfolk. read more

This location does not deserve the Hyatt branding. After being checked in, I went to the hotel to learn I was moved to a smaller, more basic room. The replacement room was dark, noisy, smelly, & not properly cleaned. I spoke to the GM, Moeen K. and he refused to put me back into the previously assigned room even though it was definitely available (confirmed by corporate reservations). Evidently Mr. K. was having a very bad day as I approached him in a very kind manner and did absolutely nothing to be treated this way. His response was to cancel my reservation with no response or apology. Basically the equivalent of being "walked". The other neighboring locations were almost sold out, however, I called one particular location and explained what had happened at Chesapeake and were totally opposite and extremely sympathetic. They said "we have heard about a lot of issues about the Chesapeake property and their management. Let me create a reservation for you and honor your rate". They even sent up a tray with a whole bunch of snacks. Note that I am also Globalist in the World Of Hyatt program and stay at Hyatt's frequently and never had any kind of treatment such as this. The next morning the GM of the new property I was staying at contacted me and apologized on behalf of what happened at the Chesapeake location and he too often receives complaints regularly about them. This apology really caught me off guard and meant a lot to me. He felt embarrassed about what happened and asked if there was anything else he could do. I told him "no thanks as his team already went way beyond last night to help a frequent Hyatt guest with no place to stay". I told him I'm a customer for life at his property and how much it means that he contacted me. He told me to open a case with Hyatt Guest Relations. I did that and the person from corporate was absolutely stunned about the situation and they are reprimanding the property. I will not ever know how exactly they were reprimanded but I hope that Chesapeake loses their franchise with Hyatt as they absolutely deserve it based on the condition of their property and management. read more

Let me just say that the photo's do not look like the actual rooms. We stayed for one night on our way to the OuterBanks. I had three rooms that were reserved in advance. Two were to be dog friendly. I knew there was a charge. My room, one of the dog friendly reeked of bleach, my sons, the other dog friendly reeked of sewer. The rooms are small and uncomfortable. Our dog friendly rooms were $350 each and the other room was $250, seemed like so much money for what we got. I purposely booked a place with a restaurant attached since we would be having a long day of traveling. The "restaurant" food was inedible. My husband went to the bar and got me a drink and he also purchased 2 beers to the tune of $40.00! I will say the breakfast wasn't horrible. I am really disappointed, especially after seeing the bill. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I was unexpectedly hospitalized and, under doctors' orders, had no access to my phone. During that time, I had no way of knowing my hotel reservation was still active, and I was clearly unable to check out or inform the hotel due to the emergency. My wife went to the hotel to retrieve my car and hoped my belongings had been kept safe--not discarded--given the seriousness of the situation. What we were met with instead was a complete lack of understanding. The hotel refused to refund the two nights I was hospitalized and physically unable to be present, citing a "lack of notice." To be clear: I was happy to pay for the two nights I did stay. But asking for a refund on the two nights I was unexpectedly hospitalized isn't unreasonable--it's human. Emergencies don't come with advance notice. The lack of compassion or flexibility shown by General Manager Moeen Khan and Director of Sales Angela Huddleston was incredibly disappointing. Their response--"If we can't rent the room, you can't get a refund"--made it clear that policy came before people. The way a business handles emergencies says a lot about its values. As we are on a road trip right now and staying at several hotels, I'm getting a pretty realistic view on how the leadership expectations of a hotel staff makes all the difference. When we first arrived there was a huge party going on and they put us in a room pretty much right next to the festivities. We walked in the room and walked right back out. The walls were bumping like a club. Now common sense should alert the front desk not to put guests in loud rooms especially when they're not a part of the party. They did put us in another room but we shouldn't have had to go through the hassle. Luckily we hadn't brought everything in, just us and the dogs The dog run was ok but it should have been excellent as we paid our highest price to have our dogs in the room for one night, $79 Breakfast was ok but the eggs were like rubber. I'm sure they use the same type eggs as the other Hyatt so not sure what the malfunction was there. The breakfast area was a lot smaller than the other Hyatt's we stayed at. It did have the best fruit selection of all the hotels. The room was clean but old like the rest of the Hyatts we stayed at. There was a little bit of a funky smell like another guest may have smoked in the room but the room was supposed to be non smoking. read more

BED BUGS!! (Second and third paragraphs for specifics on that.) This hotel started off incredibly disappointing: inedible breakfast, strange and gloomy room layouts (the light in our bathroom barely turned on, we could hear echoes and vibrations from the hallway inside of what was the most uncomfortable bed I've ever had the misfortune to sleep on). There was a strange chemically smell in our room that was absent from my sister's room down the hall... more on that in the next paragraph(s). There's no microwave or safe in the rooms and most of the channels on the TV didn't work. However, as we were only there a few days we just laughed the minor inconveniences off. I would not be writing a review if it ended there. After seeing reviews online from past customers reporting bed bugs on the first and second floors, we intentionally requested a high floor. We were in Room 432. Due to the bug reports, my partner and I inspected the bed, couch, and all wooden pieces of furniture for signs of bed bugs and didn't find anything. Until the last morning of our stay, that is. My partner noticed a bed bug crawling towards him on the pillow. It unfortunately got away before we could put it in a plastic bag for management to see, but we did get photo proof. When management came to check on the situation, we were gaslit by the manager. He told us the hotel never had a record of bed bugs (clearly false as there are other reviews with pictures). When we told him my partner saw it crawling towards him on the bed, the manger told us it couldn't have been a bed bug because bed bugs "don't move" (?????????). My partner and I are both from NYC and are familiar with how bed bugs look and operate, and we know how serious of an issue even ONE is. We understand hotels have to cover their bases and probably would have denied it being a bed bug even if we had been able to bag it, but we still found the manager's lying and gaslighting so, so gross. Though I initially thought the chemical smell was everyday cleaning solution, my sister's room did not have the smell. Putting two and two together, I think it's a possibility it was from a recent bed bug treatment that did not fully work. We were refunded for one night of our three night stay which was appreciated, but we will never stay at this hotel again, and I urge anyone reading this review to find another place to stay. read more

I visited this hotel several months ago. Great location Easy check-in with a free cookie Comfy seating and bed Cozy and clean Bathroom is oddly dark and small. If I stretch my arms out I can touch both walls. Ac was loud Breakfast was pretty good. The lady I saw working over the food wasn't wearing a mask, annnnnnnd i've kinda gotten accustomed to having that lil barrier when it comes to food. So..yeah. Didn't have a smart TV to stream shows or movies NO microwave. Look... If I'm travelling for business or pleasure, once I'm in for night and switch on Netflix the last thing I want to do is hike down to the lobby to warm up food or pop some popcorn. I was not staying at the hotel but my colleague did and he invited me over for a breakfast meeting. Their breakfast buffet is quite consistent with other free breakfasts at hotels - eggs, bacon, potatoes on the hot bar with hard-boiled eggs, yogurt, fruit and juice on the cold bar. Assortment of breads with a toaster, oatmeal with a variety of toppings. Coffee urns were filled with hot coffee. Milk, skim and half/half available plus sweeteners. A friend and I recently stayed here for one night while in town. This Hyatt was a bit under the usual expectations for Hyatt hotels. We booked this location because others weren't available. Located in the Greenbrier area. The appearance of the exterior and lobby area were good but once we got into our room and looked a little deeper that's where things went a little bit left. The hotel rooms needed renovations & upgrades. A little TLC could help! The shower/tub needed to be caulked again. It was an okay stay for the night, but I wouldn't stay longer. The hotel receptionists could do better at greeting customers when they arrive. The walls seemed pretty thin. We stayed on the fourth floor and heard running down the halls in the wee hours of the morning which was annoying. The room itself was a good size it just needs some upgrading and hopefully the stay would be better. Pros: Free parking, complimentary breakfast, complimentary wifi, and location. Cons: Stains on the wall/carpet, visible ceiling imperfections from water damage and mold in the AC unit in the room. read more

Update: The manager reached out and apologized for the inconvenience of my stay. That definitely made a difference. So so so gross! The ratings on yelp and google do not depict how disgusting this hotel is. We checked into our room and all we saw were dirty floors with crumbs and stains everywhere. I immediately put on clothes to cover my whole body because I questioned the cleanliness of everything else. The shower was disgusted and not clean. In fact, we saw a spider in there(see the photo). When my daughter opened the sofa bed she saw the stains on the couch.....I can only imagine what that is. Please take a look at the photo. I ran into the maid the next morning....she asked "do you want me to clean your room"? The fact that she asked that I knew that she did not want to and she was probably the person that did not clean our room thoroughly. Absolutely disgusting. Do not stay here and I would not recommend it. The employees that were great are Stephen, who was very nice and bubbly AND Katelyn, she went over and beyond to help with our event. If they don't step up the cleanliness of this hotel...it may go down hill. read more

I have never written a negative review for a hotel before in my life, but I had the most shocking experience with hotel management at this Hyatt Place. It was so bad that I feel the need to warn other families with children. We had business in the area and were booked to stay with our two year old and five year old for a few nights. On our second night there, we were all running on empty after a 10+ hour travel day the day before + a very long day. We got back to the hotel around 7:30 and got up to our room, and my two year old was crying from exhaustion. We couldn't calm her down for about 20 minutes despite trying everything we could. (Mind you, this was before 8 pm.) Of course, we *always* make an effort to keep our children from being too loud and teach them to respectful of those around us -- but every parent knows they can't control every factor or how their children react to new environments and situations. Especially with a two year old. We got a knock at the door as we were getting her into bed. It was the General Manager, and he was incredibly rude and aggressive towards us. He told us that "the whole floor" had complained about how our toddler had been crying for "two hours," both of which were clear and obvious exaggerations. He asked "what was going on" and demanded what we were doing to "make her stop." There was never an ounce of compassion, care, or kindness in the conversation. My husband apologized and told him we were doing what we could to get her to sleep. She fell asleep shortly thereafter and we all slept through the night. The next morning, as I was walking toward my car in the Hyatt parking lot, the same General Manager *followed me and my children out the doors and into the parking lot*, stopped us, and demanded that I keep my children quiet tonight or he would move our rooms. To say I was shocked and nearly speechless would be an understatement. I told him my child hadn't cried other than that 20-30 minute window the night before. He told me that "the lady staying in the room below (us) could hear my children jumping." I told him they absolutely were not jumping but he continued to argue saying that we were disruptive and would need to move rooms if I couldn't control them. I told him that this interaction was incredibly rude and I asked for his name, which he gave me. His parting words were that taking his name down "wouldn't make a bit of a difference." I learned the reason that he knew nothing would happen is because he is the GM of this hotel!! I am truly shocked that (1) a GM would FOLLOW a mother and her two young children OUT of the hotel and (2) threaten her with the supposed behavior of her kids. We travel 15-20x a year WITH our kids, including when they were babies, and have stayed in everything from basic hotels to luxury resorts and my children have always been treated kindly and equitably from management at the places we've chosen. We were scheduled to stay a third night but I no longer felt safe or comfortable on the grounds and we left and checked into a new hotel as quickly as possible -- something I have NEVER felt the need to do before. I filed a complaint with Hyatt, who specifically told me that this matter would be passed along to the GM for review. That is laughable since it's the GM I was dealing with in the first place. So, take our horrible experience and learn from it -- absolutely avoid this hotel at ALL costs if you have children. read more

The Hyatt Place Greenbrier needs help. Cons: - The exterior has been neglected. Faded, dirty, and peeling paint. Cracks in the building, overflowing trash cans, overgrown landscape, parking lot full of trash, entryway needing cleaning and pressure washing - Inside of building in equal state of neglect. Broken and crooked signs, ceiling tiles missing in entryway, dirty windows, cloudy pool full of what looked like sand, FILTHY elevators, a close look revealed a shocking lack of upkeep around every corner. - Our rooms were gross. The couch was stained, the armrests had years of DNA soaked in. There was dirty underwear under the pull-out bed. Hardwood damage everywhere "repaired" by a marker, water damage cracks in the wall/ceiling, blood stains on floor, closet doors that don't open or shut without significant effort, filthy showers. -We booked two rooms and the horrible material condition was observed in both rooms. - We had to buy cleaner and disinfectant to attempt to clean the room. We were able to get a lot of stuff up! Gross!! Hyatt corporate needs to make an unannounced visit to this franchised property. We booked this hotel last minute while we headed to Virginia Beach for the night. Probably booked 4 hours before our arrival time. Once we arrived at 11pm, we were informed by the Front Desk that the room we booked-air conditioner broke down (due to heat wave) and they didn't have any room left to let us stay. So they transferred us to another hotel (2 miles away). I wished they would contact us (either phone call or email; as I am sure we had our contact in my husband 's membership information) as soon as that problem happened so we could change our reservation since we were eating dinner quite close to another Hyatt property. Anyway, we drove to another hotel (Wingate) and stayed for a night. We were assigned the Junior suite room which is very spacious but in general, it looks outdated. There is only small TV 32" in the living room and when you were in bed, you couldn't watch anything as it was too small and too far away. We were hoping to stay at Hyatt as that property had good reviews and quite new too, but probably next time. read more

This is a really good travel hotel. I travel a lot for work so I have "points" available. My family and I take vacation in the outer banks every year and it breaks up the long car ride to stop at a hotel in Chesapeake. The Hyatt Place is always a good choice. The rooms are spacious and there is a nice "sitting area." The rooms are like little suites. The beds are also quite comfortable. We went down to the bar for a couple glasses of wine when we arrived. The hotel clerk also serves as a bar tender. She was friendly and helpful and even engaged us in a little, and we talked about other local hotels. The place we stayed last year was nowhere near as nice. The bottom line is when we travel to the outer banks in the future we bare going to make it a point to stay here. This is a very good family/business hotel. I have decided to update the review to 4 stars because my wife discovered a hair in the shower on the AM. read more

The room was nice and clean, nothing special at all about the room or hotel. They gave nothing extra in the room which is pretty common these days (I.e. lotion, facial soap, water glasses). They provide breakfast but the coffee is pretty terrible. They have a sign that says they can brew coffee but when asked the coffee wand is not working and they can't make something pretty basic like a latte. While the room was nice, they don't go a step above to make me want to come back. 3/5 stars 3/2/18 update: stayed another night at this hotel due to a work trip. I ended up having to switch rooms in the middle of the night as I was showering and noticed black hairs all over one shower wall. It made me wonder what else in the room was not cleaned. I went down to pick up my new room key and they wanted to put me in a room right next to a HUGE party that was as going on in their ballroom. I refused the room and they said they didn't have anything else. Somehow they must have found one because then a room on the 4th floor came open. That room had sticky circles on the wood table but the bed was clean and it was past midnight at that point. I will not stay here again. 2/5 stars read more

My fiancé and I stayed at the Hyatt place in Chesapeake, Virginia. First off I was double charged for my stay. Charging two different cards over 500.00 dollars. When I brought it up with the front attendant he proceeded to tell me that it was my fault because I wanted to put the charges on a different card than I had booked with. My fiancé then stepped in and the attendant started yelling at my fiancé. The other attendant came over and had to push him away and tell him to be quiet. Very unprofessional. I asked what his name was and after talking to the manager to next day found out that he had given me a false name. His name was Cameo and he was very rude. I stated to the attendant that pushed Cameo away that had I known I was going to be charged anyway I would have not even given him the second card. Needless to say I had to call my bank and stop  the charge since "it was my fault". Now lets move on to the room. It was gross, one of the lights by the bed didn't even work. They couldn't even bother to set the clock to the correct time. The phone jack was broken so it wouldn't even go into the phone, but lets face it you don't want to talk to the disrespectful front desk clerk. There was mold all over the doors in the bathroom. A huge stain on the carpet. We could hear everyone above or beside us the walls are so paper thin. When you start the shower the whole shower knob moves on the wall. Will be back! The hotel staff was friendly all weekend and very helpful. There was a lot available on site, pool was open, snack bar, Starbucks drinks, a bar until 11, hot served breakfast and hotel service daily if needed. Plenty of shopping with a mall across the street and other shopping centers around. Plenty of restaurants to choose from as well. 30 min drive to the beach for a whole day of exploring if you opt to as well. No complaints here. read more

This is your typical outdated Hyatt. For the most part it was clean to the naked eye. If you dug and did a mattress check, like I always do you'll find they are not the cleanest. The A/C seemed to not be working correctly throughout the hallways, as they were very humid. However they seemed to be working on it throughout our stay. I did fine it very strange that I had to sign a paper upon checking in about a 9pm quiet time, no smoking, no parties, etc. This is the first time I've ever had to sign a paper such as this upon checking into a hotel. The staff up arrival was pleasant. I did speak to a different staff member about the treadmill being broken the next day and informed them someone could be injured on it. They said okay and that was it. We were there for two more days and the tread was never fixed or noted that it was broken. I do hope no one gets injured on it, but they were warned! The location was excellent, as there is so much around and in walking distance. read more

I give three stars as our latest experience was not the usual for this location. We have stayed here many times over the years. We arrived early as we needed to shower and get ready to attend a wedding that afternoon. We are World of Hyatt Members (discoverist, I believe that is the term used) but still we're charged an additional $30 for an early check in. It was 11:00 am. When we got to our room, the AC had been turned completely off. It was 92 degrees outside so needless to say, the room was uncomfortably warm and took hours to actually cool down. We were only there for the night and did not really have time to take everything down stairs and request another room. We have stayed with Hyatt both here and other locations several times in the last year, often enough we had accumulated enough points to pay for this night's stay. I hope that is not the reason we were given the room we got but it sure does make me wonder. As we began to get ready, things just got worse. There were stains in front of the sink that appeared to be drops of blood. I put a towel over that so we would not have to stand on them. The shower door was apparently not installed properly and it would not stayed closed, it would slide all the way open as you took a shower no matter how well you closed it. I guess to make up for the shower door that would not stay closed, the closest door was off the track and would not open. Also, the bathroom door scraped the toilet bowl whenever your open or close the door. And, no microwave. We always had a microwave. Strange. We came back in that evening tired and ready to relax where were greeted by sheets that felt like a fine grain sand paper. Overall, an extremely disappointing stay. read more

Stayed here 3 nights this week. Great location. Convenient to everything and lots of restaurants / shopping at hand's throw. Super clean rooms and clean everywhere in the hotel -- well taken care of facilities. Loved the all-cotton bed linens, down duvet and very comfortable mattress. Staff was terrific! There's an indoor pool, no outdoor pool, but who needs a pool anyway when there's amazing beaches all around! Breakfast options were abundant -- something for everyone. I stayed at this place for over a month while looking for a house. Even though the place had minimal occupancy they would put someone right next door. One night they moved an extremely noisey family of 5 (1 bed) next to me because the other room they had people were complaining. They moved me to another room at 8:00 PM. I booked a suite for my daughter and her husband for their wedding night. The bridal party slipped in and decorated the hotel room. Rose petals on the bed and a congratulations message consisting of Mr & Mrs with hearts on the mirror written with lipstick. The hotel charged me $100 in incidentals because they had to take a few extra minutes to clean the rose petals and lipstick. I'm sure this is a very common practice for a bridal suite. We will not be staying in this hotel again and do not recommend this hotel. Seems to me they are just being underhanded and getting extra money any way they can! read more

The Hyatt Place In Greenbrier area Chesapeake,Va is convenient hotel to stay at if you want some where Good & fast. The layout of the room was very neat, it gave a apartment modern vibe. I appreciated the tv stand being mobile, so you are able turn the tv towards the bed or couch. The entire room was clean, it had a mini fridge & kinda spacious. NEGATIVES For the the prices being over $130 after tax I feel as though it should have offered more. The tv was very out dated and only had a total of 29 Chanels. The room was very warm when we entered and it took a while for the a/c to circulate the room due to the position of the unit. None of the phones worked in the room so we were unable to contact any of the hotel services. Lastly and most importantly the breakfast that was offered and which we paid for was absolutely basic and cheap. They only had pre-packaged sausage, egg& cheese sandwiches, which we had to heat up our selves, apple juice, honey buns & banana nut bread(I have a nut allergy), apples & bananas . I got stuck here again for work.. same issues. Nice hotel from an appearance perspective and the location is great but it is SO.DAMN.LOUD. There is also a distribution center next door with semi's coming in and out. It was so packed, there was never anyplace to sit for breakfast so I just went out though it may not always be this way. Great weekend at the Hyatt!! First time staying here I must say the staff was very friendly and the room was really clean. The location was a really good place even though it's only a 20 min drive to the beach. There is plenty of shopping and restaurants around the hotel which I thought was great and there was a gas station right next to the hotel. There is a gym and indoor pool on site and morning breakfast buffet and guess what they serve Starbucks coffee as well. I was really torn between a 3-4 star here with this hotel. There were some mistakes a long the way. But they were fixed along the way. THE BAD- Initially when we checked in, we checked in about 30 mins early. The only gripe was there were no towels in the room. Which was ok, they would bring them later. Once we were in the room for about an hour, someone attempted to enter the room. Initially we did not know who it was, and called downstairs. Hotel staff stated that it was the housekeeping because it stated that the room was empty. We were told that none of our information was in the system. So essentially we had to re-check back in. The chemicals in the pool were way tooooo much! My husband works for a pool company so he could definitely tell, so needless to say we had to drag the kids out of the pool early because the chemicals were irritating their skin so bad. Oh and there were no towels at the pool area. The complimentary breakfast is "meh." You can expect to have bland waffles, eggs, sausage, cereal, oatmeal, muffins with your choice of apple, orange and cranberry juice. Along with regular milk and almond milk. Oh and let's not forget the coffee. THE GOOD- Our room was large enough to fit 5 comfortably, 2 adults and 3 children. Our children were 16, 10, and 3. We had the room with 2 queen beds and the pull out. I believe the pull out couch was a full size. But we definitely weren't overcrowded. They have a nice fitness area, along with the pool. Which would have been nice without the overloaded chemicals. The complimentary breakfast again is ok. Something to hold you over until lunch Would we return, possibly. This place is near all of the shopping and food places. The malls is literally minutes away! Oh and stay away from the snacks and drinks. The 7-11 next door is literally 500 feet away! read more

We love the Hyatt as a whole and have stayed at a couple different hyatt places and also the hyatt house. This is by far the worst hyatt we have stayed at. The bed linens were dirty, the couch had stains, and the mat on the top of the mattress under the sheets was filthy. Crumbs and hair. I did housekeeping a favor and stripped it off for them. This king suite room didn't have a sink in the bar area like the other Hyatt places. The water pressure in the one bathroom sink was terrible. The shower is ridiculous, there is no full door so the water comes out all over the small bathroom and the floor and grout are also filthy. The room smelled moldy and stuffy. We will never stay at this location again, there are many nice hotels in the area. We used some hyatt points for this stay and what a disappointment. read more

Have you ever heard someone make the comment, "there is something to be said about good customer service." ? The Hyatt Place in Chesapeake goes leaps and bounds past just "good customer service". In fact, they are definitely ahead of the majority of other local Hamptons Roads Area hotels in every way in that regard! Where do I begin?! The staff are simply fabulous! They are all about making your stay a wonderful one! Check in was a breeze, and those front desk workers make you feel right at home upon walking through their door! They are extremely helpful in all that you might want or need! When I personally needed something brought to my room, they were lightening fast in bringing it right up! In fact I wondered how they arrived so quickly since I was on the top floor! Don't forget to check in on Yelp for that free monster sized cookie at the snack bar near check in...their s'mores cookie was knock your socks off good by the way! I could go on further about how wonderful their Staff was, but let's not forget the hotel itself. There are some key items on my checklist that need to be present for a hotel to achieve true greatness! Clean inviting rooms...CHECK! A comfortable bed with equally comfortable bedding...CHECK! A shower and shower head that both looks nice and feels good...CHECK! And last, but not least, staff that will try their very best to make your stay as relaxing and refreshing as possible and take the time to care about keeping their hotel as beautiful and inviting as possible so you will want to return...DOUBLE CHECK! This hotel reminds me of a line from a song by Tina Tuner that somehow gets stuck in my head every time I hear it, "simply the best...better then all the rest". Somehow, I feel that line sums up very quickly what I have been trying to convey in the menagerie of words above! If your searching for a wonderful hotel, drivable to all the local hot spots, this would be a perfect hotel to give a try or come again to. I went in July and this is the best hotel I have been to so far! They have a very nice view outside the window and a comfortable relaxing atmosphere everywhere, inside and out! They provide mini-fridges and big flat screen tv's. I stayed here for a week and nothing seemed dissatisfying. There is always a place to spend time playing games or using a laptop, whether it is inside your room or the lobby. The workers there are really nice as well. They provide a section where you can find informative brochures and menus of different places around the hotel. Breakfast is awesome! Although it is pretty much the same breakfast everyday, they have a variety of different food, so it's hard to get sick of it. I totally recommend this place! read more

My family reunion was this past weekend and this was the hotel where majority of us had rooms. The location is great because you can walk to almost everything and there are an abundance of food places around. The hotel was also only 5 minutes from the park where we had the reunion so that was a plus. Now onto the rooms, while this hotel is fairly new and modern, it was not very clean. My shower was filthy and I had to request to change to a room with a stand up shower which resulted in a price change since that room was a King bed room. My original room was a 2 Queen bed for $169. When checking out, the young lady at the front (not friendly at all) still charged me for my original 2 queen bed room even when I explained to her I was moved due to the room not being up to par. She then told me all rooms where priced the same which was not true because my mom had a king bed room and hers was $149. Needless to say I was given the young lady's contact information for the group rates and I spoke with her this morning. She was very helpful and will adjust the price for me. There was another young man that was quite helpful to my family and I during our stay. I didn't get his name but he was a African American guy with locs and his customer service was top notch. Hyatt Place does need to do better with the cleaning because other family members rooms weren't cleaned either and I think my cousin found a bullet casing in her room. Overall the two people I mentioned and their customer service got this hotel the three stars. I probably won't return! read more
