Several food options, little gift shop, and information about the activities going on across the park are available within. Parking is free and close to the inn. Breakfast buffet reminds me of a typical free hotel breakfast, so we thought it was overpriced for what it was... in general, the restaurant staff seems a bit disorganized and unmotivated. Overall a relaxing setting and supposedly is being remodeled in the next year and spruced up! Looking forward to staying here sometime.

I was worried that my elder parents or pet sitters would not be able to get ahold of me. No room phones either. Wifi was also spotty. Wifi didn't work more than it worked in my room. Be prepared for lots of walking. I had an injured person in my party, and she wasn't able to do most things. Also, the room was small! The bathroom door was only two feet wide and the bathroom itself was very narrow. One of the beds was against the wall. Also the restaurant was buffet only. There was no menu ordering. Now that I have complained a lot, heres the nice things. Staff was very nice. Things were very clean. Parking in the garage was easy. Each room had a minisplit heat/ac unit. It worked very well. There is a page in the room binder on how to change the temperature, fan speed, and blowing pattern. The beds were very comfortable and came with six pillows on each bed. There was an in room refrigerator. The Pioneer Village was very nice. It was also very nice that a church service was offered in the Pioneer Village. I greatly enjoyed it, but only happened to find out about it by accident. I didn't visit it, but there was a game room available. I really enjoyed the outdoor patios at the hotel. They are conveniently located and well kept. The view from the patios of the large trees and rolling hills was beautiful.

West Baden has now become a regular family destination. My family -- plus my mom, stepdad, siblings…read moreand their families -- just finished our second trip here. And it's safe to say that West Baden is now a family tradition. My parents spent a few days there to celebrate their anniversary, and then the kids all came to stay the last night, during Easter weekend. And we made the most of it. We started with bowling and pizza at the new Ballard's at the Atrium (see my review on that). My older niece then watched all the kids in one of the hotel rooms, while the adults got a drink in the expansive atrium and enjoyed looking up at the picturesque dome ceiling. The next morning, which was Easter, we found a quiet sitting area on our floor to have an Easter egg hunt with all the kids. These are memories we will cherish. We popped over to French Lick for brunch, though the Easter brunch set up in the atrium definitely looked delicious too. The staff is always excellent. We were able to call and get all of our rooms next to each other, which helped. Thanks for another fabulous mini-vacation, West Baden!

A really cool historic hotel. I visited with my husband and children, 13 and 10, as well as our…read moresmall dog, over Martin Luther King weekend. For a property seeming to target the upper middle market, I think there is a lot of value. They have many free amenities that most no longer do - no resort fee, no parking fee, free shuttle to the sister hotel and downtown. I also feel the pricing at restaurants is somewhat reasonable, particularly at happy hour. Add in amenities closer to a luxury property - evening music, nice indoor pool almost always open, and obviously just being in the unique dome... This is a winner. We found the service to be consistently friendly. We had no issues with getting help for our large amount of stuff at check in or check out. Very nice to our dog and he got a lot of treats for the pet fee. Dining service was on the slower side but seemed to fit the vibe. We stayed in a suite with two queens. It was large. The furniture was on the worn side but well maintained. Nice to see unique furnishings vs generic all white everywhere. Plenty for the kids to do. We enjoyed the newly restored bowling alley and found it nicer than the same priced one at French Lick Hotel. We did like going to French Lick for the shopping and to read about the history. There is a lot about the history everywhere, including the small museum (a large room) in the hotel. We were very happy and would like to return.

Looks are deceiving…read more The hotel is beautiful when you drive up. Looks like it's going to be quite an experience, unfortunately, for me and my husband celebrating a milestone anniversary, it was just meh. The price you pay is astronomical! The room is very basic (size of a motel room). We did receive a lovely card with chocolates for our anniversary, which was unexpected and very appreciated. Our room was tiny, without any amenities. The TV and electricity blinked multiple times and eventually we had to have a repair person come take a look. We heard little kids running the halls and talking loudly (no sound proofing at all). Thankfully we brought earbuds. The food was nothing to write home about. We ate at the steakhouse for a special dinner, but found the food to be mediocre. The atmosphere was nice. Prices matched fine dining/resort pricing. Husband's steak was bland, and his lobster bisque was barely room temp. My lobster mac and cheese was dry, I chose it as an entree because I didn't want a huge entree, it did have several chunks of meat and the Gouda sauce was creamy on the bottom of the dish. The brussel sprouts were warm, while the asparagus was not. The breakfast buffet the following morning was Golden Corral adjacent. The omelette station was the best food of the entire stay! Granted, I had high expectations after a wonderful visit to West Baden, the sister property one mile down the road, but was greatly disappointed. I'm aware this beautiful resort is a timeless spot to visit, but I don't think it meets the hype at all!!!! Very disappointed.

It smelled fresh and clean, the staff was kind, and the bed was so comfty. Breakfast was good - obviously not restaurant level, but yummy. The oatmeal bar was fantastic! The rooms are the best maintained I've in town across several work trips, the front desk, attendees are polite, helpful, and courteous, and it's located right in the middle of everything. It offers a large waiting pool, hot breakfast, and clean eggs, biscuits, sausage, waffles, and all the rest, and fresh, hot coffee, and cookies at the front are a nice touch. The downsides of noticed are that the sheets and beds, well comfortable pillow tops, seem to likely be synthetic and have me feeling confusingly, sweaty even with the air conditioner turned on, and the fitness room is long overdue for some very basic maintenance: the cable machine only has one side that works because the adjustment is broken on the other, and the weight bench adjustment knob has fallen off, keeping it flat and making a lot of exercise exercises not possible. Nonetheless, the pool is quite nice and large, and two treadmills, and elliptical, and a peloton spin bike are available.

Fortunate enough to stay in the small, one-bedroom cottage which was very quaint. Reminded me of a family cabin as it was homey and a very casual setting. Although I didn't use it, there was a kitchen and laundry room which could be helpful for those staying for a few days. The bed was a bit harder than I like and it would be great to offer a hair dryer as they are too bulky for a traveler to pack. Overall, I lovely place to stay.

The house, over Labor Day weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday night), cost us $440 (total) for 5 people. The house has two bedrooms and bathrooms, a nice, fully equipped kitchen and a patio/deck with a gas grill. There is a washer and dryer in the first-floor bathroom. Our third person stayed on the hideaway bed, but we also found a nice twin mattress set upstairs. The house was clean, cozy and really nice! We were within walking distance of everything in town. There was only one potential snag in the whole experience....our GPS's had us all turned around (we were on 5 motorcycles), so we ended up asking some police officers that were parked at the gas station where the house was. We would never have found it, had we not gotten an escort from the nice police officer! He knew the house and said, "Follow me--it's tricky." The street sign had two names on it, with the one we needed to see, all covered up by tree branches. Note to the lovely Vesta: Please warn people of this, because it would be nearly impossible to find in the dark. Be sure to bring TP, paper towels, a sponge and dish soap. We'll stay there again. It was a wonderful house and a great deal!
