I am writing to share my feedback regarding my dental cleaning appointment today. I have always had positive experiences at your practice, which is why I was particularly disappointed by this visit. During the cleaning, the dental hygienist was noticeably rough. My inner cheek were scraped and left sore, the suction caused several bruised areas inside my mouth, and the inner cheek tissue was damaged to the point that it is now painful for me to eat. In addition, I found the overall experience very uncomfortable. Water was splashing throughout the procedure, leaving my face, neck, and even my chest are wet. More importantly, there were no opportunity for me to rinse or catch my breath. I eventually had to ask the hygienist to stop because I felt as though I was choking. I understand that some discomfort can occur during a dental cleaning, but this experience went well beyond what I have previously experienced at your practice. As someone who has always trusted and appreciated the quality of care you provide, I found today's treatment both distressing and disappointing. I wanted to bring this to your attention in the hope that my feedback will be taken seriously and help ensure that future patients do not have a similar experience. I told them ok, I left a message on your answering machine, well she insisted I didn't. I would never do that. If I can't make an appointment I would always call to cancel! They told me I owed them $50 because I didn't cancel. I insisted that I canceled the appointment we were going back and forth. Dr. Hoffman is a wonderful doctor - he took the time to speak to me before the surgery and explained what he was going to happen that day. He put the IV in me and the next thing I knew, I was waking up. Every single person in that office is better than the one before! We took our mother to see Dr Hoffman couple of months ago because she was having difficulty eating due to teeth problems and old dentures. Long story short turned out she had cancer and passed end of October.
