I am here to leave my second review for Dr. Hoffman. Eight days ago, he extracted my teeth, did a 4 quadrant bone graft and 8 implants. The first couple of days I was a hot mess, but here I am, zero pain, the expected bruises are all but gone and my mouth is back to its new normal. Dr. Hoffman is a wonderful doctor - he took the time to speak to me before the surgery and explained what he was going to happen that day. He put the IV in me and the next thing I knew, I was waking up. Every single person in that office is better than the one before! I am such an idiot - I waited so long because I was afraid - Dr. Hoffman gave me back my confidence and my smile back! If you need any kind of dental help, he's your man! read more

Dr David Hoffman is a kind, caring and compassionate doctor. Most doctors I have been to rush you to get you out. The entire staff was very friendly and caring as well especially Nurse Lori who we worked with that day. We took our mother to see Dr Hoffman couple of months ago because she was having difficulty eating due to teeth problems and old dentures. At this point she was barely able to eat anything and couldn't walk and had to be in a wheelchair. He treated her as a person not just a dollar sign and cared enough to ask her what was going on. Long story short turned out she had cancer and passed end of October. I have been in contact with Lori since my mother passed to get refund of downpayment and each time she got back to me immediately and was so caring when i told her about my mother I highly recommend Dr David Hoffman and his staff! read more

This is an AMAZING DENTAL SURGERY OFFICE! I've seen Dr. Hoffman, Dr. Stein and Dr. Lam. And I've had some extractions done by his associates and it's worked out amazing. DR. LAM IS AWESOME! She did the extraction on a few teeth, of all sizes, and afterwards there was so little pain that I didn't need to take anything. It was done quickly for most teeth, and then carefully on more "difficult" ones; And always efficiently for all of them by her and her assistant. They all were friendly and helpful to me, and kept me calm and comfortable through the whole process. I'd recommend them to everyone! read more

We were referred to Dr. Hoffman by our pediatrician because both our boys are a little bit "tongue-tied". It was actually their grandpa who noticed it first as he recognized the short frenulum (the part that attaches the tongue to the bottom of the mouth) because he remembered mine was short and had to be "snipped". OUCH. No, in reality I don't remember at all. So we brought the boys, then 4 months old to Dr Hoffman's luxe, large office decorated with ample clean, cushioned seating and paintings of old NYC and its bridges. And waited and waited and waited!! Two hours with two infants to be exact. Just at the point where the boys and grown-ups could take no more...they called us in. What is it with Doctors and waiting?? Grr. It must be noted that this expansive office is located in one of the buildings of Staten Island University Hospital (North Shore Branch). Dr. Hoffman is both amiable and professional. I realize why there was a wait for him, as he took his time, explained everything (even cited the latest research) and we were not just a co-pay and onto the next. He even took the time to read the slogan on my baby's onsie. Hehee...It said "Born in '09". Anyways, he recommended cutting for both as I suspected but one was easier and done in office the week after our initial visit. Easy, not too nightmarerific and the baby had minimal discomfort and can now stick his tongue out at YOU. And he will! His twin brother will not be so lucky. Our ambulatory surgery is scheduled for this Thursday. I expect pure excellence from Dr Hoffman and his team, but can't help but feel jittery and sick to my stomach that our 5 month old requires anesthesia. ugh. read more

My dentist suggested to have my 4 wisdom tooth extracted all at once. The reason being that I was chewing my inner cheeks that might turn cancerous. So I started researching on various dentist who are participant in my insurance as well as experienced with good customer ratings. I found Dr. Hoffman to be very experienced (technically and academically), patient centric, associated with SIUH, and more importantly have wonderful staff who always try to assist you and give comfort out of the way. The day of the surgery, as I was so nervous, my expectations were overcome when I came out of anesthesia seamlessly. Reasonable swelling followed but the prescribed medicines suppressed the pain and controlled the infection and swelling. I got a followup call the day of the surgery from the staff checking to see if everything was fine and shared tips to follow and avoid. Very impressed by the overall experience with Dr. Hoffman's skill-man ship of tooth extraction and post care followup. Oh! and forgot to mention, the office gives a luxury touch, spacious, very clean and well decorated with paintings and LED. Prior to my surgery, during consultation appointment, I found Dr. Hoffman to be very detailed in understanding my medical case and communicated well in explaining the step-by-step approach. I recommend Dr. Hoffman and his team for their utmost professional services without any hesitation. read more

I first met Dr Hoffman when I was six years old in 1981. He was part of the Cleft Lip n' Pallet team at Staten Island Hospital. Throughout the years growing up he has performed multiple surgeries on me which included wisdom teeth abstraction, Bone grafts, jaw alignment and necessary work for the cleft pallet. Ten years ago at thirty seven I underwent another surgery due to a cyst that formed inside my pallet. I would like to say that he has helped me a lot and I am very grateful for all that he has done. If I should ever have any problems in the future it will always be him that I stick with. Now at forty seven I still have many compliments of how good I look and how I have a great smile. I owe that thanks to Dr. Hoffman. His office staff is great and I knew his office manager Jean for a very long time. They helped me out a lot and worked with my insurance in whatever they would cover. read more

Absolutely wonderful experience. I waited to write a review until I was completely healed but I am so happy to have found Dr. Hoffman's office. I was originally referred to a different surgeon by my regular dentist because of an extraction that I needed where I also had some bone loss. because of the complexity of the matter both I and my dentist thought it would be bestfor me to see a surgeon. After the surgeon who I was referred to did not accept my insurance, I called Dr. Hoffman's office. not only did they get me right in, but they were extremely friendly and comforting always reassuring me that the process was simple and the procedure was extremely routine. When I got to the office I waited about 10 minutes and I was out of the office within about an hour. now that I am all healed up I will be returning for a follow up appointment to adress the bone loss issue with both Hoffman and my regular dentist and would recommend his office to all! read more

My experience with Dr. Lam could not have been more positive. The staff at the front desk was extremely friendly and helpful. Dr. Lam's assistants were knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable throughout my procedure. Dr. Lam made herself available to address any and all concerns that came up. I just had my wisdom teeth removed three weeks ago! I was very scared, mostly about how much pain I would be in post-extraction. I had all four removed and they were all at least somewhat impacted. I was given IV sedation (not general anesthesia) along with local anesthetics. I was stunned with me results with Dr. Hoffman. It was excellent. I did not even swell up a little bit, I swear. There was some pain, of course, but the pain prescription I received worked extremely well and the pain was very bearable. I only bled for about an hour and a half post surgery as well. For me, the most annoying part was eating mushy foods for about a week. After that, I went to my local pharmacy and asked for an oral syringe to rinse the area with. They gave it to me free of charge and it is just basically squirts water in the holes and blasts the food out. I have been eating regularly for the past week and a half. The experience was not bad AT ALL. I advise anyone who is in the vacinity of Dr. Hoffman to try to get an extraction appointment with him. He is an excellent doctor and I cannot believe how mild my pain was and how I had absolutely no swelling whatsoever. He must have the magic touch. LOLL. Advice: The experience can seem daunting and scary (take it from someone who has had intense anxiety in the past), but it is really not bad if you find a surgeon you trust and has good reviews to do it. Research will pay off, and seeing Dr. Hoffman will too. read more

I had a very serious and painful underbite and knew since I was young I was going to need surgery. Well, when the time came I was old enough to have reconstructive jaw surgery my orthodontist sent me to Dr.Hoffman. It was a hour or two with traffic commute. BUT it was absolutely worth it! They had to break both top and bottom jaws and move them. It hurt (obviously) but they went above and beyond to take care of me. I love it there and would recommend him to anyone! He did fabulous work and changed my entire bite and smile into something I love :) read more
