    cute shop. loved their selection of soaps and mini animal-shaped candle holders (grasshoppers, bunnies- i did not know i needed). everything is soo expensive though :/ gah

It's a great antiques store that's been open about a year and a half, run by an owner who is interested and passionate about the industry of antiques and collectibles. The store is packed full of rusty collectibles like farm equipment, old signs, some housewares and a small rack of vintage clothing, but mostly patina and rust, as the store name suggests, but all mostly clean and very nicely organized which made it easy to browse and look through (i.e. you're not scared of something toppling over when you're trying to look at something behind it). I loved the collection of vintage saddle blankets, antique French wire laundry baskets, vintage and homemade light fixtures, and old ladders. The store feels more masculine than some antique stores, and doesn't have a ton of housewares, which makes it fresh and interesting. There are large items out in the parking lot too. Owner Matt Binyon was in the store when I visited - he's friendly and interested in helping you find what you're looking for. He said some of the items in the store are booth rentals from other collectors and recommended some places I could look for bigger furniture pieces. He also owns American Rust & Patina in Layton, which has more furniture and Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, and I need to check out. This is a great asset to Sugarhouse! So glad it's here.
