I would never rent again from this company. They totally scammed me out of my deposit. My neighbor had the same problem. $300 for replacing two cheap plastic toilet seats that were constantly falling off. $250 for carpet cleaning when only the small living room needed it. We moved in to our place in september, we have had numerous things that weve needed maintenance on or other various things, we have gone through 5 different property managers since weve been there, and it took them weeks to finally send us an email saying hey there a new manager when I had been messaging our old manager with no response. Then the new guy was only there for 2 weeks or so. People consistently leaving trash everywhere, broken glass and the sorts in the parking lot. Kids constantly running in and out of the parking lot and random people hanging around in the parking lot. We payed 1605 a month for a 2x2 and is the smallest apartment I have ever seen. I would not recommend this place if rent was $100. Have already advised my family to not go with this place after they were looking at one of their properties. read more

So far, I have not had a good experience with Commercial Northwest Property Management. They have not maintained the apartment complex I live at. My neighbors leave their trash outside their doors and the staircase to my apartment smells awful. My rent is over $1,400 a month. For $1,400 a month, for a small one bedroom apartment, they should at least ensure the property is clean and sanitary. Furthermore, the parking lot is constantly full of children yelling, riding bikes, and screaming. There have been MULTIPLE occasions where a car has almost hit them. Zero stars, if that were possible. This is, in my opinion, the laziest property management company. Communication is virtually nonexistent, and they can't seem to be bothered to show apartments. The one scheduled appointment I had was canceled at the last minute (so last minute I was already driving to the appointment before I got the text) only to discover that the apartment had already been rented. Have some integrity and be upfront. Now the whole add insult to injury thing. They refuse to refund my application fee even though they have done nothing to earn it. Please beware, I have a relative that currently is renting one of their homes. Her and her family have been there fr quite a while. She has children and they have gone without hot water multiple times for several days up to over a week. This is inhabitable for any family. While the company itself wasn't the worst ever, the apartment was not great. I would not recommend the apartment we lived in to anyone. It was very old and somewhat updated, however the air conditioning system was terribly old and did not properly cool our small apartment down at all. They told us to get blackout curtains to help. We were living in 85 degree temperatures all summer. we had a cockroach issue and had to have maintenance come out several times for random things that should have been taken care of before we even moved in. For example, the hot and cold water in one bathroom was switched, the sliding screen door was never on its hinges, our bathroom fan never worked, and the dishwasher was falling out of the counter. Not to mention our disposal not working, drywall dust everywhere upon move in, and them taking 2 plus weeks to fix our washing machine. They were going to increase our rent by over 200 dollars so we were thankful we already made the decision to move to a different place that is way better for the same price. We were charged a flat rate of almost 300 dollars for cleaning afterwards which negated all the time we took to deep clean the unit. maintenance was fairly responsive and the property manager was usually available to talk to Which is why I say it wasn't a terrible experience with them. but the property was terrible and therefore I would not recommend them at all. read more

Company has really nice apartments and a fantastic maintenance crew. In terms of home office it is impossible to get a hold of someone and visiting the office doesn't do you any good either. Their office is closed almost all times of day and I had to stand outside for a lengthy amount of time until someone came to see why I was there. The reason I was there was to get an inquiry on the eta of my security deposit return. It was 30 days since I had moved out and there was no communication about it. I did finally receive my deposit and they subtracted almost 2/3 of my deposit for apartment repairs. The apartment wasn't perfect when I moved out but nearly a grand in repairs was not the damage it was left in. Would not recommend this company... read more

Not only have the apartment managers been told about this numerous times by numerous people on numerous occasions. They will go on to tell you that they are the Idaho equivalent of a cockroach and there is just nothing in the entire world that they can do about them. All while they continue to up your rent and call it "keeping up with the market". Not only are bug infestations nasty, They are also hazardous to your health and can spread disease and bacteria. These nasty bugs are EVERYWHERE!! In the kitchen on all your glasses, cups and plates. In the bathrooms on toothbrushes. They get into your laundry, on the furniture and they are getting worse every year! You see all the brown dots on the walls ? Yep. Left behind from them. Day 56 and still no deposit refund since vacating at Warm Springs Gardens, managed by the incompetent executive leadership at Commercial Northwest Property. These particular apartments are very new and clean but were poorly engineered. I do feel horribly for the staff at the Commercial Northwest Property management company, I get the sense they are underpaid and overworked. I have had an extremely unpleasant experience with this organization, and by organization I mean the "executives" who pretend to run a simple small business. CEO Natalie Lemas has been mentioned in local articles as an "up-and-coming" executive in Ada county. However, as far as I can tell she is a slumlord who has inherited a family business, and she makes no effort to support her staff. I do not blame the hourly workers whom I have dealt with while renting from Commercial NW, I blame Natalie Lemas, her parents Nancy and Ernie and her posse of goons. Please, Yelp, feel free to correct me if I am wrong but I believe they withhold their last names from their website in an attempt to hide their intimate connection. Natalie, as CEO you should be ashamed of yourself for the way you treat your staff and your tenants. In regards to my current beef with you: I believe Idaho law dictates that you have 30 days to deliver a deposit refund to a tenant. Failure to comply means that you cannot withhold any amount of the deposit, so I hope your team will be refunding the full amount soon, in order to remain compliant. I would imagine that legal compliance plays a large role in your line of work, but that is just speculation, maybe it doesn't matter. A quick google search will ease any confusion around this topic. As a quick note to any potential future tenants: If you are considering renting from CNWP, I would fully exhaust all other options. For example, I would consider renting from a private homeowner, an apartment complex with on-site management, or a stranger renting a small box on the side of the road. The bottom line: conducting shady business is not always illegal (although I suspect you cross the line quite frequently). Not returning deposit dollars within a 30 day window is, actually, illegal. If you are a renter new to Boise, I would pursue another avenue. If you are a renter that is comfortable considering a deposit as a fee, go for it! read more

This is a very shady property management company. I was incredibly excited to live here at Allen Apartments in Boise, ID. The leasing office ignores every one of your phone calls as well as does not respond to emails. I have tried countless times to contact them so I had to walk into the office and speak with someone. The leasing manager by the name of Antonio was incredibly rude. He wanted absolutely nothing to do with me. He said things to me that were illegal again Idaho landlord-tenant laws. They came into my unit today without notifying me, and they were sitting outside in their property truck watching me come home. They left no note, and they ignored every phone call I made to ask why they are acting so suspiciously. I will be bringing this to my tenant-landlord attorney. They need to work on their workflow for dealing with maintenance issues. The general maintenance guy, Dorin, is fantastic at his job and goes above and beyond to get everything fixed, and even has taken the time to teach me as he goes. The contractors they hire to fix things like the AC are great at theirs jobs too. The main thing is that the management isn't proactive at dispatching the people who are going to do the work, so it's weeks or months even before issues are taken care of. read more

I already KNOW, just from dealing with this company since 2019, that they will do something shady and not give us our deposit back even though when we leave we will have been here for three years. I rent a business space in a building that is owned by Commercial Northwest. The building originally belonged to Sundance Co. When CNW first took over their property management team was awful, but they hired a new property manager named Haily. She is amazing. She takes care of business. Haily has the ability to do her job the way her boss wants her to and take care of the renters. I would have never recommended CNW but since she has become the property manager I recommend them highly. It is the property manager that makes the business successful. read more

Where do I even begin. If I could give less then one star I would!! These apartments weren't to bad until commercial northwest took them over and from the day they took them over they have been trash!! They made rent more and have done less! when I say trash I mean literally trash!! They NEVER clean up the dumpster! Right now there is a dish washer, couch, table and cabinet stacked by the dumpster that have been there for two freaking weeks!! There is trash scattered all over the property from the dumpster. Somehow they can come clean up some branches after a storm BUT NOT THE TRASH! Oh and WAIT THERE IS MORE! We went without our sink being fixed for over a week and I tried to call them for days on end. Water filled our sink and we couldn't even use it. NOW WE CANT EVEN USE OUR ONE AND ONLY SHOWER!! Water is leaking from the ceiling onto our kitchen floor. The "emergency" line goes right to voicemail so that's helpful.. I have contacted them about the outlets over and over. Nothing will stay plugged in because the outlets are to lose or don't even give power, so we only have power to about half our stuff. This property management is a HUGE JOKE! And just a FYI make sure to email them about EVERYTHING even if you also called cuz unless it's in a email they will deny ever being told about it. A few days ago, I became interested in renting a property listed by Northwest Commercial Properties, I first attempted to call the number on the website and advertisement (An Idaho Prefix) only to receive automated return texts, this happened several times. I decided to complete an online application and pay the $45 fee. A day later I received an email requesting additional information (some not required, per the add). I responded with insistence that I have a conversation with someone about the additional information. I did get an email with an Idaho number to call the leasing agent. When I was finally able to get in touch with the leasing agent, I discovered the Idaho number was a ruse and the agent was actually a Philippines National now in possession of my personal and sensitive information. The leasing agent was requiring that my wife complete a application as well (she was listed on my application and her identification was provided). This would now include the SSN to my wife. Northwest Commercial Properties are intentionally diverting sensitive and personal information to foreign nationals that are not bound by US laws to keep that information confidential. I am now forced to subscribe to a costly identity theft subscription to protect myself from Northwest Commercial Properties careless and reckless business practices. I can only be thankful I did not do additional business with them. And just to be clear, I did not get turned down, I backed out. read more

Very unprofessional and unpleasant to deal with. They raised our rent 3 times in 2 years and lost paperwork on our dogs. Update: They have now raise our rent AGAIN! Fourth time in 3 years, this time $250 more! The excuse that they are keeping up with the market is a cop-out. They are preying on people who have no choice to move because all of the property management companies are doing the same. It's a predatory practice. Our rent is now over 50% of our income, we have started selling our plasma and selling our belongings online, on top of full time work just to survive. They DO NOT CARE! Also, they DID lose our paperwork for our dogs, we had to provide it for a THIRD time in addition to, pictures, names, breeds, and weight of our dogs Even though it was on the document. This was after we got a threatening letter telling us we had to get ride of our dogs within 24 hours or they would evict us. We've had these dogs 7 years, they aren't new. We filed everything when we moved in 3 years ago. If I can warn 1 person about this company and help them steer clear, it makes the harassment a little easier. read more

I would give a 0 Star rating if that were an option. Most unorganized "management" company I have ever encountered. I waited 60 days for return of my deposit. I followed all of their guidelines, gave 30 day notice. I paid my monthly rent on time. if not in advance every month. I had Unit professionally cleaned after vacating and provided them with receipt of Professional Cleaning. which they accepted without any comment or suggestion that it was insufficient. Still, they illegally deducted from my Security Deposit cleaning fees and carpet cleaning, even tho it had been done. (excuse for them - to retain money). aka Scam. I spoke with 4 different individuals regarding information for Unit. I was accused of not properly renting a Storage Unit when in fact it had been written in the LEASE and I had been paying for it every month. I had to provide copy of the Lease, their employees were not trained enough to research my Lease themselves. Too lazy or improperly trained. Several other Properties in Boise to use. I was born and raised in Boise. What an embarrassment, that Companys/Individuals such as these are moving into the Treasure Valley and taking advantage of people and ruining the reputation and trust of good people. This is by far the worst property management company I have ever dealt with. There are continual issues with the property and other residents that Commercial NW refuses to address. I have sent multiple pictures of dog waste all over the property and trash on the ground along with neighbors who blast music at 3 AM. We also had a resident on multiple occasions enter our friend's apartment wasted and the same individual hit a tree on the property while driving intoxicated. We also have an infestation of ants, earwigs, and spiders entering our home (we are very clean) and wasps building nests on multiple spots on our unit. I have emailed and called MULTIPLE times to have these issues resolved with little success. They won't address dog waste everywhere, trash on the ground, or neighbors violating their lease by blaring music in the middle of the night. They allowed the one resident to continue to reside here after damaging property completely drunk. We finally had someone come spray for bugs after months of trying to get the property management to address the problem. To top it all off there's nowhere to park, it's first come first serve apparently, which is fine if they had enough spots to park! The extra spots they did have to park were converted to fire lanes. They don't have on-site management so they don't care, they charge you an arm and a leg for rent and do nothing for your money. It's infuriating to try and keep the place nice and follow all the perimeters of the lease while others around you refuse and the property management won't do anything. Please do yourself a favor and rent somewhere else. read more

There is so much that I can say about Commercial Northwest, but only about how horrible a company it is. They will steal your security deposit (so no point in doing a deep clean before moving) and they never answer their phones or emails. It took three days of calling and emailing every day (multiple times a day) for me to finally get a response. I then found out that their employee, Jessica Hoff, had lied to me about updating our new address and they sent the miniscule amount we got back from our deposit to the wrong address. But throughout the almost two-year ordeal of living at one of their property, it was clear that providing good customer services is not a priority for Commercial Northwest. If customer service was a priority, it wouldn't have been an ongoing theme of having to call and email their office multiple times to finally get a response. It also wouldn't be a continuous theme in their one star reviews, which Commercial Northwest then tries to gaslight the reviewer. There were issues from the start when we moved into the apartment, from dirty drip pans (which you then took $60 from my deposit for (also you can buy a 4-pack of drip pans for $12-20 so why are you charging $60?)) to having one of your employees put a nail through a pipe which flooded part of the downstairs. Once Commercial Northwest finally fixed the hole in the wall, the patch up looked horrible. I would not be shocked if that had also come out of my deposit. Commercial Northwest does not answer their phones if you are a current or previous tenant, and they will nickel and dime you to essentially steal your deposit. read more

Lived in one of their townhouses for 9 months. These people do not respond to anything in what I would consider a timely manner. The auto reply on their emails tells you that they only answer email on Wednesdays--once a week?! With hundreds of tenants? I still don't have a reply to an email I sent weeks ago. Calling is also hit or miss. Additionally, upon move out, they refused to tell me the paint brand and color so that I could do my own cosmetic touch ups on the walls--and they charge $50/hour to have someone else do it. In 22 years in the Air Force, tons of moves, and 13 rentals, NEVER did I have a property manager refuse to allow me to do my own cosmetic fixes. They are paying a laborer probably $10/hour and charging us $50. The lease indicates that there is a $50/hour charge for painting and/or touch ups, but it doesn't state that tenants can't do it themselves Very disappointed in the management practices and made up "policies" from this place costing me hard-earned money. read more

These are generally uncaring people based on the interactions I have had with everyone at this company. No one answers phones and you're lucky to receive an email back the same business day you sent it. I have no idea how they are "#1 rated" in resident satisfaction and feel they can claim ". . . always put[ting] the needs of their residents first." Quite frankly, they put the needs of their stakeholders first (check the CEO's LinkedIn bio). As a college student, I had lived under three different management companies before moving here and I have never had the misfortune of doing business with such a terrible property management company. They are always reactive and never proactive. The number of times I've woken up to no water or returned home to find someone keyed into my apartment without notice is too many to count. They are not managing anything! I have had to contact them multiple times to get estimates on construction timelines (which they never told me) and to let them know that I had no water without notice since they're never on the property. Do a quick Google search to see how they, illegally, kicked out disabled residents with three days' notice and then backpedaled saying that they didn't mean it. Looking at recent reviews on Yelp, Google, BBB, etc. you can see that this company gaslights their former residents and truly has on rose colored glasses - they cannot see their faults and are only out for money (and one of their only positive reviews on here was left by an employee). After speaking with one of the higher-ups, they didn't even know that the contractors working on the property had illegally let themselves into my apartment multiple times. This, again, speaks to their lack of communication, even within the company. I should've run before I moved in, but it was, very unfortunately, my only choice based on my move-in timeline. If you can find literally any other property management company to live with in Boise, you will likely have a better experience than you would with this one. read more

They charged us for wall repainting because there were nails in the walls, which were all outlined in our rental agreement as having been there from previous tenants. And they nearly evicted a friend of mine for having two cars parked outside their property and assuming there was an "unauthorized tenant." They'll fine, cheat, threaten and steal without asking questions first. I recommend just about anybody else as a rental manager instead of this company. Seriously. I was a tenant at one of the properties managed by this company for approx 2.5 years. Aside from the normal complaints about noise, bad neighbors, etc, the exp was exactly what you would expect from an apt - average at best. What really caused me to post this review is the move-out process, and expectations on the part of the apt management company. There were none! As in I requested move-out instructions prior to my 30 day notice period, and heard nothing back. It was after following-up on my original email, that I finally got a hold of Yuritza, an employee with Commercial Northwest. She confirmed my move-out, and 30 day period of notice given. She also stated that she would follow-up with additional info, which I explicitly requested. (cricket cricket), that was the last communication on their side. I just got off the phone with a very curt, yet polite individual (forced politeness?), and was offered no other details on the move out, final walk-through or what I would get back from my deposit. Of course this is all post-move out, as I couldn't get a hold of ANYONE to give me guidance in my move out month. I HIGHLY suggest you don't rent through this company. They have exhibited every indication, that you are a dollar sign and nothing more. They don't even pay lip service, to customer service, they are fresh out. read more

A few days before Christmas we had a leak in our kitchen. The leak came from our heating unit. 2 days with the drips and leaking water in different spots of our kitchen the HVAC company came out to fix the issue. I took pictures daily and emailed to keep them updated because of the damages it was causing. They had to shut off the heating unit because it was the cause of the leaking water. They were going to go back to the property management compnay to see if they wanted to replace parts or the entire unit. The HVAC company left me with 2 small heating units. They were not heaters you could trust be left on unattended. I would also not leave them plugged at night for fear they would short out or get knocked over and catch something on fire. These small heaters couldn't be plugged in at the same time without breakers tripping off. I have corresponded for the last 4 months via email and phone calls trying to get this issue fixed. My family and myself have been sick numerous times the last few months. I have autoimmune issues and the cold effects this tremendously. Their responses are, we are getting waiting on parts, waiting for approvals etc. 4 months has been way to long without our heat and ac unit not working. The small space heater finally shorted out 2 nights ago. There is been a couple other issues I have had with our lease that they have fixed but not without some push back. I am a renter that pays on time, doesn't break the rules having dogs, extra guest etc. I just want this fix! read more

It seems as if there's a common thread in complaints...bug infestations (multiple residents, same location), lack of follow up or even basic empathy by the property managers, disgusting conditions upon move in, etc. This is the absolute WORST property management group that I have ever experienced!!! I never considered myself a tenant of "SLUMLORDS" until moving into their property on 3rd & Bannock. WARNING: YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!!!!!! The rent was reasonable, but the overall condition of the building, lack of upkeep, and utter filth due to lack of maintenance was mind blowing. The deterioration of the building after living there only 7 months was astonishing (cracks on the outside of the building where water entered in and caused deterioration were never once addressed by "management". Just thankful my lease was a short one, that taught me the lesson to wake every morning with a thankful and happy heart to NOT be living in those conditions any longer. At first they seemed very Professional. We lived at one of their properties on Warm Springs Road for 6 months. After our 6 month lease we was sent an email stating they were not renewing our lease and when asked why they indicated to us they have a right to choose to renew or not to renew. Our payment history was great and we didn't understand the reasoning. It took several days before we ever got an answer from anyone in the office. We are continuously sending emails requesting our deposit and still haven't been updated as to the status in which it's been over the 30 day return policy. I would do the research before ever recommending. Our experience wasn't the best and when rent is due there are so many fees if ever not paid on a specific date each month but no importance with getting deposits back when continued request are being asked. read more

The second the took over I knew we needed to move, as I looked them up and there reviews were just awful. We finally moved out in October 2021 when we received a bill from them 48 days later which stated we weren't getting any of our deposit back but we owed them $500, mind you we rented less then a year so these charges were outrageous. When my husband called to talk to someone about the bogus charges no one answered. He called many times. I emailed the company and days later someone finally got back to me and my husband got on the phone with someone in which we thought we resolved the issue and we're having a check sent back to us. December 22nd was when the check was suppose to be sent. On January 24th still no check, when I reached out to the company again they stated they would send a check January 28th which it is now February 8th and I still haven't received a check, I'm afraid I never will until I take legal action. Be aware. This company is the most money hungry company I've ever rented from. Do yourself a favor and rent elsewhere. read more
