For this job, they replaced some defunct com cables in my shop and got all of my WiFi security cameras operable with a mesh WiFi system. Because it is a metal building I would lose the WiFi signal to most of the cameras when we closed the metal roll up doors at the end of the day. Honestly, I wasn't sure it was repairable, but they replaced the screen within a couple hours, and it was good to go, at least for a couple weeks. The screen quit working again, but not due to their work but the extent of the previous damage. So back in the phone went, this time for a new screen and back case. Darin was willing to comp the screen as they had already replaced it, but as I was using my bank's phone insurance this time, we are having it fully repaired like new. As I mentioned, this shop is very knowledgable about phone repair as well as the different phone insurance programs and able to help guide me through the process of filing a claim as well. The repair costs are comparatively great, and on newer phones that's definitely the way to go as DIY can be so challenging with all the glue used these days.

The malware alleged that my computer was disabled and would require me to follow the instructions on the screen to get my computer up and running again. Well, that was a solid "NO", but what could I do? The malware encompassed my entire screen. I was fortunate enough to know that I should NOT TOUCH ANYTHING on the screen, but who should I call for help? Thank goodness for a savvy neighbor who recommended Elite Technologies on Culebra Road! I arrived unannounced, but only had a very short wait before Mike was ready to help me. He was personable, relatable, very easy to talk to. He did not talk over me, and provided me with a lot of useful information. In short order he had my computer up and running. The fees were very reasonable, ESPECIALLY when you take into consideration the absolute necessity of having a reliable computer, and also consider the cost of a new computer and the nuisance of having to set up a new computer. The worst part was when I questioned the charge and asked for an explanation. Rather than handling the situation professionally, the owner became visibly angry and argumentative. If you're going to charge customers for diagnostics, at least provide useful information or a solution. Between the attitude, the fee, and the lack of results, this was not a good experience.
