Looking at reviews I try to look at what individuals are saying. First of all Commodore homes make both Manufactured Homes built to US Federal Spec HUD and they also build true Modular homes that are built to State Spec. I notice no one stating what home they bought? Hmm one review written by a relative of the owner? Hmm. Another caulking drywall? No insulation in Windows? Hmm Well anyway I looked at a bunch of homes manufactured and modular and for quality I liked Adventure Homes and Commodore homes. The Winner was Commodore though as they had a dealer that wanted to work! Clayton homes, you have to knock on the office door to see if anyone is working! My sister was so excited to have a home built by Commodore homes and initially it was beautiful. But we have visited her at her home many times and witnessed the bad construction doing just that -- going bad. The floors were noticeably cracked and they found cuts that were so bad, they needed to be replace the floor. There were cracking issues where the wall meets the ceiling and back flashes started to come away from the wall. Unable to warm up the house the first winter, they discovered that there was no insulation in the doors, in any of the windows nor the sliding glass door. I was shaken up to see that a home builder could be so negligible at a job they should have been good at. I would think twice before hiring this contractor. read more

Had a fire lost are home in July 2018 bought a Commodore home from Valley Homes in Bellefonte, Pa. Moved in 2 weeks before Xmas 2018. Floors creaked sounded like horror film house took 3 calls to get fixed. 3 weeks in house started having problem with furnace 6 service calls have had no heat for a month now. Everybody keeps passing the buck, I don't know who's fault it is but I do know who's fault it's not mine. Suing Valley, Commodore, Miller Furnace, & Nortech. Using electric heaters to keep house in 50's at best in central Pa, in winter my wife and I are in are 70's she has health problems I have heart condition (3 heart surgeries) and cancer. Nobody is doing anything. Just went into master bath water all over the floor had to shut off water. Now no heat no water. You can put lipstick on a pig but when it wears of it is still a pig. Was going to cancel this piece of shit should have gone with my gut feeling. We feel like sailing in the Titanic into the mist waiting for this crap house to sink. If your looking at a Commodore Home be afraid very afraid and run don't walk away run away as fast as you can. read more

Last year, March 2013, We started our dream and had a Manufactured home built by Commodore Homes of Indiana and that's when our nightmare started. Our first week living in our home we noticed the kitchen/dinning room floor was scratched, cut, dips and was just very bad. Then as the year progressed we had cracking issues where the ceiling meets the walls and also in corners. I caulked them and the dealer where we purchased our house installed crown molding in the living room, kitchen and dinning room. Further issues were back splashes coming away from walls, two different types of caulking in the master bath, clear and bright white. Scrapes in laundry room floor. Thin dry wall plaster where corner strips showed through. Cracks in the ceiling, screw pops throughout the house, Seams showing throughout the floors and the ceilings. Counter tops swelling at the seams on 3 of the 4 counter tops. ETC. ETC. The worst was, after a very harsh winter we found out we had no insulation in any of the doors, windows, and sliding glass door. We bought insulated curtains, a faux fire place, register deflectors and insulation for the sockets, just to try and wake up to a warm house. They said it was the way they do things, just a small thin strip of foam. Well it didn`t work, our cooling and heating bills for the past year were outrageous. Thank God we had the dealer working for our best interest, because Commodore Homes did not reply to many of the numerous emails, or phone calls. I did receive one letter, telling us our year warranty was up. Ya, I guess so...after a year of being ignored, where they did very little to solve our issues, they certainly were glad to put this home in their past. Well, we will spend more money to try to make this house a home, no thanks to COMMODORE HOMES! You`ve been warned! read more
