I usually stop by Commodore after Maialina, and it's usually a solid choice. I really like the ambiance. It's a small, dimly lit spot with a relaxed vibe that's perfect for a date night. I tried the FAFO shot (bartender's choice), and it ended up being surprisingly tasty. Definitely a fun pick if you're feeling adventurous.

I've been here once before and had a nice time. This time the vibe was very melo! They did have a live performance but it was too loud for the small space. Could barely hear the bartenders voices. Turned out to be a good night over all! Good date spot if you dont mind talking little louder lol... they didnt have my whiskey options so I got an angels envy kentucky mule and it was prefect (pricey but worth it!!)

Such a cute speakeasy in fountain square. Food list is small, but get the job done if you're drinking. The signature drinks are delicious and the bartender knows his liquor. Service is pretty quick! 10/10 would recommend. Also, a DJ provides all the vibes on Sundays and Wednesdays.

As I searched for this spot on yelp, I was shocked to see the bar had been around as long as it had. It's truly hidden. I think I drove around the square at least 3x before finally parking. Upon entry of this little speakeasy, I was blasted with a smell of vinegar or dirty feet. Beyond that, the atmosphere was dark, quiet and partly romantic. I had the espresso martini, which was quite tasteful. It appeared to be a spot for dates on a Sunday night based on the clientele. A dj set up at the bar in a corner, which was quite interesting. Some of the songs brought me back to my 21 year old days (in a positive way), but it seemed so odd given the bar. All in all it was a positive experience and I certainly plan to return.

Bartender was amazing! Drinks were perfect and the speaker easy was perfect! Definitely good spot to grab a bite and handcrafted cocktails! The decor is perfect nice and intimate.

The Commodore is such a low key Fountain Square gem. This fountain square Speakeasy is hidden away in the fountain square theater building. The drinks are high level and the service is hipster cool. The old fashions are wonderful and they're open late with snacks from Imbibes kitchen.

Service, drinks, atmosphere...all of it! Great bar tender! Everything you want out of a speakeasy was there! Tyler the bar tender was amazing! Super knowledgeable and his drinks were great!

Vibes galore! If you like swanky, art deco-y decor, you'll definitely enjoy this place. The fact that it's a hidden "speakeasy" is also super fun. The bar is always well staffed. You never have to wait too long your drink. The only drawback is every drink is going to be $15. We thought maybe just their specialty cocktails listed on the menu were $15 a pop, but even a Dirty Shirley will run you $15. (It will also be the fanciest Shirley you'll ever have )

What a quaint spot! I attended a charity gala with a few friends last weekend and one of the suggested for a night cap to be had at commodore! I will say, the espresso martini is SMALL but mighty! Quite frankly one of the best I've ever had! I love the very low lighting and choice of seating. This speakeasy will now be added to my personal list of suggestions when I have friends in town.

Well-known speakeasy in the center of Fountain Square, Commodore is a dark, swanky pre-game or post-event meet-up spot. Rather small space with usually only one or two bartenders present so pick your hours wisely. My friends love the espressotini, though I have never had a bad drink from here. One of my favorite unique drinks is the Beets Me, a light cocktail (not a tart drink). If you come here and order a beer you might get an eye roll or two Perfect for your friends from out of town who are stopping in for a night in the downtown area! Worth the hunt!!

This was the first speakeasy I have ever been to and it lived up to my expectations! Completely hidden in fountain square and luckily my friend had an idea of where it was because I would have never guessed! The vibe was so chill and there were not many people in there (we went on a Friday night). They had food to order also! We got chicken tenders and curly fries! I had the Matcha Man drink and was so happy with it. It was delicious and I would 100% get it again. Highly recommend!! UPDATE: I recently went here when my family came to visit and was so excited to show them the Commodore. We came in and found a seat. A bartender came over and handed us menus. He barely looked at us and told us to order at the bar and then left. We went up to bar to order drinks. I ordered and then asked if I pay now and his response was "well you should probably wait until I make it" which caught me off guard. My family ordered their drinks and he had the same attitude towards them. The drinks were good but we were all so confused and couldn't really enjoyed our time. We left as soon as we were done with our drinks. So disappointed since I love the vibe here. Hoping it was just a bad night.

The place was very crowded. The service was pretty slow, and the drinks were incredibly over priced $15/drink. There are multiple cheaper, better, less crowded places for cocktails in fountain square alone. Don't bother with this place if it's crowded. U-turn out. The vibes were pretty cool, though. They definitely nail the speak easy vibe better than anywhere else I've been. That's about all that was done right. Also I will say the place was rented out before I got there and a HUGE line built up due to it being rented out. So that may have contributed to the crowding and slow service. I will update my review if it's better in the future. Overall do not come here unless you really want the speak easy experience. Outside of that this place is over priced and under staffed. ALMOST the whole building that this is in is run like that.

The lounge is much larger now, with additional seating and a cozy lounge area in the back featuring comfortable couches. It feels much more open while still keeping the intimate speakeasy atmosphere. This is one of my favorite places for craft cocktails because there's always something new to try. Their menu changes seasonally, so even if you've been before, you'll usually find new creations alongside their signature cocktails. The drinks are true works of art, both in flavor and presentation. On my most recent visit, I tried a cocktail off the Pride menu called the Stonewall, and it was absolutely delicious. It had a beautiful pink color, and I loved the glass it was served in. The presentation is always top notch. Service was good. The drink was also only $10, which is pretty cheap for the quality compared to other places. We didn't stay long this visit, but it's always one of my go to spots to relax, catch up with friends, and enjoy expertly crafted cocktails. An added bonus is that you can order food from Goodfellas Pizza and enjoy it while you're in the lounge, making it an even better experience.

Some were quietly relaxing while others were catching up over drinks. The coffeehouse-meets-cocktail-bar aesthetic is well executed and gives the space a distinct personality. I ordered the nonalcoholic Basil Needs a Break, and it was excellent. If you like basil, this drink definitely delivers. It was bright, refreshing, and very basil-forward. The service was friendly and welcoming. My only complaint was the temperature inside. It was nearly 100 degrees outside, but the bar felt warm with very little air circulation. It was almost refreshing to step back into the muggy heat after leaving, which probably isn't the feeling you're hoping to give your guests. I'd definitely come back for the drinks and atmosphere, but I'd hope for a cooler temp next time.

In the good ol' days, this is where travelers waited for their trains. It opened in 1888, and looking around you can sense the history and visualize a black and white photo of Union Station in its glory days. When train travel went by the wayside, Grand Hall was left abandoned and dilapidated until it was transformed into a shopping mall + food court in the 1980s. When Circle Center Mall opened up and stole the thunder, Grand Hall was remodeled to become the gorgeous event space it is today. This is a great example of a historical building that in many ways has remained the same but has changed its purpose to meet the needs of the time. A lovely venue for a large seminar, annual meeting, or wedding. I highly recommend you check out Union Station and also take a peek at the train car hotel rooms at the adjacent Crowne Plaza.
