It's a busy place with the staff hustling around, always cheerful! It's comfortable and plenty of seating. Parking is an issue though as the parking lot is just too small. I had always seen this place packed and heard the reviews were pretty good so it was time to check this place out. As said earlier, this place was busy but we were able to get seated pretty quickly. The place reminded me of one of those brooklyn pizza joints you always see on TV, very busy and hectic. Our server seemed discombobulated and was rushing all over the place and there was no organizational flow to the servers coming and going with orders from behind the counter. We orders some wings which i was not a fan of and a couple of 8 inch pizzas. The crust is homemade and the pizzas are fire grilled. The pizzas were not bad but i have had better. I dont judge a place on the first visit and feel this place deserves a second chance. read more

First they had smiles and ready to serve when we walked in to the door. The spaghetti and meatball was great. The touch of sweet sauce is delicious. Good helping and the meatball is huge. One is plenty. The bread was good and soft with a special topping. There are plenty of places to eat, either tables or booths. There is also a bar area and plenty of TV's (please have closed captions on all of them to be accessible). The meal was very affordable and a nice stop. read more

The food and service is perfect. Small town family ran establishment with all of the hospitality you can ask for! Their personal pizza with a homemade sauce has a subtle hint of sweetness to it and is phenomenal! As a college town establishment, they are great supporters of SLU or LSU sports on a Saturday Night so you can expect a slightly longer wait, still worth the wait. I and my two companions went to Commodores for a late lunch early dinner. We seated promptly and gave our drink order which were draft beers. And a order of spinach and artichoke dip upon receiving the beers we started to consume them and realize they could've been a little bit more colder, but other than that, they were good upon receiving the artichoke dip it lacked flavor and then we placed our order for the entrée which consisted of spinach and bacon, calzone and pizza. The pizza was awesome, but if I could make one suggestion, I would say, instead of chunking the green pepper and onion to use slices because those two items were not cooked and the calzone was awesome and service was fabulous read more

Went here based on all on reviews that people claim, best pizza joint around, you can't lose and its fantastic. WRONG Ordered my pizza and 40 min later it comes and was the wrong kind, they took it back and remade it. The next time it was correct but not even cooked all the way through, at this point I was frustrated and gave up on this place. They tried to discount pizza a few bucks but I don't feel it justified the issues we had. Finally went home and cooked the undone pizza I paid for and it was OK. Driving through Hammond and stopped here for late lunch. I read many reviews and thought a lot of the 4 stars on here are BS. They are being tough without a reason.....reviews says how great this places are and will definitely return without any negative comments but they felt like the HAD to be an a$$hole and give this place 4 stars for no reasons. Yes....do yourself a favor...get the Buffalo bread sticks. I never order bread sticks but I decided to order the Buffalo bread sticks based on the reviews....so yes....ORDER THE BUFFALO BREAD STICKS!!!! The pizza....man.....wow.... The crust is nice...thin enough...but yet still fluffy and great texture. The sauce....we tried their original sweet sauce and traditional sauce...both great. Sweet sauce is the winner which I was surprised because I like my tangy tomato taste when it comes to sauce. We got the Greek and God Father...both outstanding. Service....they were upfront with the time to get the food. It took about 15-20 mins for the pizza. It's pizza...takes time to bake.... Thanks for the heads up. All the ladies (didn't see any dudes) were so nice. We sat at the bar and all of them helped us. They are very friendly. Not sure if they are all family or what but they are close. I've never sat down and dined in Commodore's but every time I get to go whether picking up for myself or my mother I am greeted with such a warm personal welcome. Even if busy I'm always updated on how much longer my order will be while waiting. The environment feels very family operated in a good way. I feel like they care about their customers as people and their experiences. I can tell their regulars and people that aren't but they treat them the same. My two year old and I have become very hooked to the Buffalo Bread sticks. I feel like the chicken is always crispy and perfect. We ordered a large pepperoni/italial sausage pizza with onion. It was terrible. The crust was raw in the middle and the onions weren't cooked at all. The pepperoni was raw. We wanted extra sauce and it was as if they poured the entire bowl on it. It was swimming in sauce and everything was falling off. There was no consistency to the pizza and a lot of it was cold. This is some of the best pizza I've ever had. They use the best cheese and so much of it. The sweet sauce is my favorite. The traditional is good too but I'm loyal to the sweet.
