The lady who put together my make-your-own pizza was nice, and the pizza was delicious. Not the best I've ever had, but certainly in the top three among Hammond pizzas, and it was larger than the usual "individual" pizza. The amazing thing about this place is the value for the money. I got a hot, fresh, excellent custom pizza with a ton of different ingredients on it and a bottomless soft drink for around $13 (after tax), much less than I would've paid for an equivalent amount of food at Popeyes, Taco Bell or even Burger King. The bang for the buck is off the charts. My only real complaint has to do with the temperature in the store: it was uncomfortably cold. If you think it's cold inside a Waffle House, you're in for a rude surprise. I was tempted to give them four stars because of it, but since it's a problem that can be handled simply by bringing a jacket, I deducted half a star and rounded up to five instead of down to four. read more

I come here a lot and normally I don't have any issues. When I came in today, the workers skipped an entire family ahead of my order making my food come out later than the rest of my party. When it came time to make my order the staff seemed like they just wanted to get my order done with and didn't give me anytime add extras to my order. Overall the food was what you would expect from a pizza restaurant where you craft your own pizza in a buffet style line. I've had better pizza but I've also had worse and for the price I will certainly come back again. Staff were friendly and though it took long in the oven (it was quite busy), everything tasted fresh. The person who made our pizza did not smile, kept rushing us and was not friendly. She got an attitude when I asked for other toppings and was not receptive to any smiles we were trying to give. I never leave reviews and i'm not trying to sound like a karen but it genuinely hurt my feelings. The person who boxed our pizza, I asked if my pizza was split in half from the oven before she cut it and she said "yeah it might be" and literally tossed my pizza box onto the counter. My first experience was not the best. The pizza had far to much cheese in relation to the number of pepperoni. The most pieces of pepperoni on one slice of pizza was 2 and I ordered 3 large pepperoni pizzas and one cheese pizza. The sauce was sweet and personally, I don't like sweet pizza sauce. Now the upside to this pizza joint is the price. $9.99 for a large is a great price but I can't get past the cheese to pepperoni ratio. I doubt I will be back for round 2. read more

Severely disappointed. My wife and I went there, because the concept sounded great, I mean who doesn't like the idea of a custom personal pizza? It is definitely casual dining. And since it just opened, the line was a bit long. Service was good, so what went wrong? Taste, and quantity of ingredients. I ordered a Carne Calzone (All meat calzone) I will break down the issues. Lit Red Sauce Ragu spaghetti sauce has more flavor than this sauce, as far as I could tell there was no garlic, onion, oregano, or basil, much less salt, and pepper. It tasted more like unadorned generic tomato sauce than a sauce that should grace calzones, much less any pizza. Dough The Dough is fresh and could use a bit more aging, but it was okay, where is wasn't charred. They tried to cook it too fast in the blast oven, so the bottom was over charred and the top was charred in many places. This I would chalk up to inexperience. Ingredients Putting it bluntly, you get better ingredients at Little Ceasars or a Hunt Brothers Pizza. Not to mention that there wasn't much of any of them. The Pepperoni, Ham, Italian Sausage, Ground Beef, and Bacon didn't have any real flavor OVERALL EXPERIENCE To me Lit Pizza is the pizza equivalent of Subway, overpriced for what you get, with less flavor than Little Ceasars or Subway for that matter. Until last night, the worst pizza I've had was from a vending machine at an airport. 8" cheese and pepperoni = 2 pieces had 1 pepperoni - 1 had 2.5 - The other 3 had 1 to 1.5 each. About a teaspoon of sauce was shared among the 6 slices and the crust was cut out of an unused box. I will say on the bright side, the $9 8"er was slightly bigger than an 8" paper plate. I'm from New York. Home of the BEST pizza in the world, imo. When I moved here, the only pizza place I would eat at was Commodore's. Commodore's is, imo, one of the best pizza places - but they don't deliver. On a whim and not wanting to drive, we saw Lit Pizza on ASAP and decided to try them and OH MY GOD. The Pizza tastes JUST like new york brick oven pizza. It's DELICIOUS. My only gripe is that the biggest you can get is an 11inch pizza. I hate that I can't order larger. Went previously and it tasted great. Whoever made it this most recent time had an extremely heavy hand with everything but the meat. The crust is 1/8 inch thick and had 1/4 inch of just cheese on top. I ordered a 2+ topping with Peperoni, 2 cheeses and Roasted garlic. Each piece of pizza had an entire bulb of roasted garlic on it instead of a bulb spread around the entire pizza. I threw this away after removing the garlic and forcing 2 pieces down. read more

Hammond La location. I was very happy to see a Lit pizza opening in Hammond. I love Lit pizza & eat there often. But I have visited the Hammond location 5 times since it opened. They are rude, take no care in preparing your pizza. Give you very few toppings. The toppings you do get are piled in the middle of the crust & they get a serious attitude if you ask to have them spread out. 3 of my 5 visits my pizza was under cooked & they got an attitude when I asked about it. If you love Lit like I do go to any other of their great locations. Stay away from the Hammond location. I strongly recommend the Juban Lit. read more

When we arrived, they seemed to be unorganized while taking/making orders. When we finally did get our order to pay at the register, the employee that was ringing up customers was very rude. My wife was explaining our orders to him and he started rolling his eyes and got a serious attitude. I orders the Ultimate Lit calzone and my wife ordered cheese sticks.
