The place is super cute with many different seating options. They make their own syrups which I think is fun if you care about that. The food was yummy and warm and they drinks were good. If you like sweeter matcha I would recommend asking for some syrup in it, other than that everything was perfect. The staff were super friendly and everything came out at a decent rate. It also wasn't expensive just typical coffee shop prices. read more

I stopped by common good cafe this morning on my way to my new job and was able to try their vanilla honey latte. It was so good! I even grabbed a sweatshirt on my way out after hearing about their amazing cause. Common good aims to improve the community they work in one coffee at a time. This includes working with local organizations to promote wellness and community wellbeing. I love how the cause goes to improve not just the organization, but also the environment of those they serve. They also serve amazing looking food (although I didn't grab any this morning). I'll definitely be returning in the future to support their business and the work they do. read more

Very calm coffee shop. Popped in after walking around the area for a bathroom break and a drink. Bathroom was very neat and clean and even had a sign letting me know about their donation process (you can purchase a "second drink" to get a token and decide where your donation by dropping the token into a bucket). Staff were very nice. I asked for a cold brew with milk (turns out there's a little station off to the side where you can add milk and sweeteners which I really liked. Would love to see more syrup options over there though. There was only brown sugar syrup over there yesterday when I went.) and asked what the staff member's favorite treat was. Their response was the lemon bar, which I agree is FANTASTIC. read more

Pretty good coffee shop on Moody St! I ordered their breakfast sandwich which consisted of an english muffin topped with one egg and cheddar cheese. I added chipotle mayo on mine. It was pretty good! They pressed it like a panini which was cool so it was nice and toasty. I also got an iced coffee, which was good too. Nothing blew me away but they were good! It's definitely a great space to come study for students. They also offer office space to rent for anyone needing that which is very cool. They list these options on an iPad near the bathroom. Staff was very friendly too. All in all cool spot, check it out when in Waltham. read more

Everything I got was a 10/10! Parking is decent you can find street where you can parallel park, or you can drive around a bit to find something. Customer service is decent, nothing out of the norm, and everyone is friendly. Let's talk about the food. This is the best Avocado Toast I've ever had. The Poptart was not a normal tart, it was fluffy, hollow, and surprisingly amazing. The Apple Pie scones have caramelized apples around the base; how do you even do that?! This coffee shop serves high quality food that I would definitely recommend. I tried their drip coffee and it's great, I got the drip coffee which is roughly about 16 oz cup which is great for coffee (think venti Starbucks) It's pricey, but it's worth every penny. As for the restaurant design, it's very clean, and it's very cozy. Seats are close to each other, you aren't too far from the counter where they'll call your name for your orders, my only feedback would be in regards to where you drop your silverware and plates when you're finished. I was confused on where to put them, and also condiments like sugar, milk, etc. were available, but also not too visible to find until I had asked; not enough to harm your services, but if you're in a rush might make things a little difficult. read more

This was one of my early reviews when I hadn't visited enough times yet, but since I started drinking coffee beverages, pretty much always flavored iced lattes in early 2023, as well as teas, this has been the café I've visited most often. The lattes are nothing short of fantastic, tasting so smooth and flavorful every time. There's plenty of espresso too if you like a lot of that to wake up for the day! This seems like the premier coffee destination of Moody Street in Waltham, being a nice, large space with seating and a couch to hang out or do work. They have a whole back area of offices where people can come to do work all day for a monthly subscription, and I think you get unlimited drip coffee access or something; maybe there are other perks too. Common Good also has many postings and fliers for community events, even some meetings happening right there. I'm so glad to live close enough to be able to visit enough. All the flavor syrups are made in house, and many with a brown sugar simple syrup base, a genius idea that I don't remember encountering anywhere else. The people there are also very nice and easy to talk to. They have very interesting seasonal specials, like a honey bee cortado, vanilla peach iced black tea in the summer and pumpkin spice/ube, maple cinnamon, cozy chai, and other lovely items in the fall. My only complaint is a general one about cafes these days, especially near Boston, the prices are steep and seemingly just increased by 25 cents last week. The menu doesn't reflect that though, with the same prices it's always been and I've asked a barista before and they don't have an answer. So at this point I'll probably order smalls for a while. But despite that, Common Good is a special place that I highly recommend! read more

Popped in here after my morning workout class to grab a coffee and check out a potential place to come work from. As soon as I walked in, I felt like I had left Moody Street. The vibe is a clean-cut trendy coffee shop. There is a beautiful leather couch and along the right side of the space are individual tables that would be good for setting up a laptop and working while you sip your coffee. I'm not exactly a coffee connoisseur, so as I stared like a deer in headlights at the coffee menu the woman at the register was very kind and explained what some of the drinks were. I ended up getting a cortado which I'm currently sipping and is very very good. This place definitely knows how to make their coffee. They have all the right tools and know how. I got my cortado with oat milk, which can be risky, because the nondairy milk sometimes mess with the taste but this one tastes amazing. Since I was hungry, coming from a workout class, I caved and also bought a breakfast sandwich. After paying, I noticed that they don't have a full kitchen, but only a microwave and a Panini press. My heart sank a little bit because had I known I would've just gone home and made myself a proper breakfast, but if I were going into the office and doing my usual, eat breakfast in the car routine, this sandwich is definitely superior to a Dunkin or Starbucks morning run. I'm actually shocked at the quality of the sandwich. After seeing it come out of a microwave, then get panini pressed it is still surprisingly good. Would I come back here? Absolutely, the coffee is outstanding. If craving a hearty breakfast this isn't the best place for that. But if you're craving a really good cup of coffee this IS the place for that. You could order any coffee under the sun and relax or work here. read more

An unharried staff is there to take your orders and explain the food and drink menu. The space is clean and bustling, providing a pleasant amount of white noise, and seasonal drinks create interest and reasons to return. I usually just stop in, get my drink, and set off. I do not have a membership to the back work area but there's plenty of free seats (and free wifi) available in the front and there were many people sitting in there. I've had a few different coffees from here and none have disappointed! My last visit I got the bacon, egg, and cheese which comes on an English muffin with your choice of sauce, I went with garlic aioli. Sandwich is nothing special but still yummy and a nice pick me up when working for a few hours. read more

Staff is so nice! I like how clean the cafe is and their coffee is good. I'm not much of a coffee drinker but it did it's job. Their Nutella croissant muffin though is DELICIOUS! Absolutely try it with your coffee. This is also connecting to a coworker if space which is cool. You can get a day pass for $30 dollars, rent a meeting space, or pay for a monthly membership ($99?) which gets you free coffee!! 4.5 stars. A modern-looking coffee shop in the main strip of Waltham, there's a coworking space also in the back should you need a place with wifi to conduct your business. Alas, the coworking space is operational 8:30am-5pm which is not ideal for me as I have to work with folks in pacific time and usually finishes at 6 or 7pm. Every time I've been here, the folks are nice, the espresso was fast, and the lattes were yummy. They have alternative milks (I tend to go for oak), and quite a few syrups and seasonal flavors if that is your thing. Unfortunately, the baked goods are just average, and their savory foods like the breakfast sandwich was quite rubbery. Ah well, I'll just take the coffee and decor then! read more

Moody st has street parking or if you will be there for a long time there is also a parking lot in the back (I think you have to pay). Staffed seemed pretty nice and for a new Moody St business, there's a good amount of patrons. 4 stars for checking off all of the basic necessities of a cafe. Would go higher in rank but drink prices are kind of high and there wasn't really a 'wow' factor. But looks like a pretty nice business. read more

I hate to put one star to my ex favorite coffee shop in Waltham. My Saturday experience at Common Good coffee today was nothing short of a nightmare. My husband and I waited for almost half an hour for our coffee, only to receive an incorrect order. When we asked for a remake, a staff member named Chichi flew into a rage and yelling. She screamed and yelled at us in front of other customers and our friend who we brought to our favorite place, making a scene and embarrassing us in front of everyone. It was a humiliating experience that left us feeling shaken and upset. Chichi's behavior was completely unprofessional and uncalled for. To make matters worse, when Chichi noticed me with my phone open to write review she scoffed and told me that my "dirty review" wouldn't make any difference. It was clear that she had no interest in providing good customer service or addressing our concerns in a reasonable way just like other employees who just stood there watching the show. The hostile behavior of staff members like Chichi makes for an uncomfortable and unwelcoming atmosphere. Save yourself the trouble and find a different coffee shop that values their customers and provides a positive experience. read more

They actually WANT you to stay! How do I know this?... there's at least one, highly visible 6-count outlet (with additional USB charge outlet) for the laptop-working-coffee culture-devotees out there. In general, there's plenty of seating; counter space facing floor-to-ceiling windows, couches, lounge chairs & tables & booth seating. The ordering counter is minimalistic and open so it seems the focus remains on creating the inviting space for the flow of customers. Menu wise, there's all the usual coffee offerings, plus teas & hot cocoa. Hot/cold options. Special treats about this place, they have London Fogs on the menu (which is not usual) and their non-dairy milk options also include macadamia-nut milk which is also unusual! There's some basic, but curated pastry options (a good mix between usual classics, and flavor varieties more skewing to the sweet side, and traditional baked goods with a twist), a few breakfast/food items. Not extensive, but that's ok. And great music. Super solid place to get some work done, get out the house, people watch, snack and/or feed your coffee vice. read more

This is a cute cafe with plenty of seating and good coffee. I've gotten pretty basic options --- an iced coffee and a bagel. Then I found a chair near an outlet and was able to sit and work in a pleasant space. I believe that there is some special coffee for sale where half the proceeds go to one of three charities, you choose. This place is right on Moody St and I can walk there, which is always a plus. Parking on Moody is tight but possible during the off season. (The street is closed to traffic in the warmer months). Oh and staff are friendly without being weird! read more

This place is good. The first time I went someone on Yelp recommended the breakfast burrito and they were right, it was great! Recently I went back and unfortunately it is no longer on the menu. However, the regular breakfast sandwich they make on an English muffin is good. I've also had their strawberry lemonade, quite good. My only real complaint is that there aren't a lot of warm breakfast food options. Seems like there are a lot of coffee choices though! Will try some next time! read more

I really want to like this coffee shop (mostly because there aren't a lot of options in the area and it's really cute, I believe in this place!) but lately I feel like they've been struggling and management needs to provide some more support. Maybe they need more staff? The last three times I've visited I've had to wait a long time, including once almost 15 minutes for a sandwich that I was watching and noticed that they just completely forgot about for a while- even though there weren't many people inside. This is my fav local indie cafe. I also love that it is a non profit that offers co-working as well as the front space open to the public as a cafe. I love writing here-sunlight and good vibes, also lovely in Spring and Summer to be able to eat outside. Food and drink are sourced locally. The owners are great, very warm and welcoming. A clean well lit place to read write and meet your friends for excellent tea coffee snacks lunch etc. Such a key addition to Waltham, I have been a loyal fan since day one! I travel around Boston for work and spend a lot of time in different coffee shops. I'll admit I'm a bit picky but it's hard to find a coffee shop I like. This place checks all the boxes. Coffee tastes really good, ambiance is nice, music isn't too loud. Baristas are pleasant. Coffee is reasonably priced to where there's room to leave a tip or donate to their various charities. 10/10! read more
