In 1854, the Waltham Watch Company pioneered a more standardized process of watch-making by introducing a system of interchangeable parts. Prior to this, watch-making was imprecise and time-consuming - making watches unaffordable. The mass production introduced by the Waltham Watch Company helped expand local and global reach of watches making cities more easily conscious of time. Since then the Watch Factory has been restored and renovated to become pricey apartments and offices with a modern design. A number of companies are housed in the watch factory sandwiched between residents of the apartments on either side. The foyer of the central entrance to the building has a museum which is open to the public to view and read about the history of the building. Although the building has been restored and interior design modernized, a number of the original parts remain - including all original windows, most brick, and different fixtures, exposed beams and doors. It's one of the more interesting things in Waltham and is located close to Moody St. Moody St has a ton of restaurants, shops, etc., and is usually the place to go when you're looking for something to do around these parts. Downtown Boston is a 20-40 minute drive away depending on the time you go.

It's a horrible decision by management and frankly insulting to waltham residents. I've lived here for a decade and always parked there to walk my dog, but apparently management isn't a fan of locals. Beautiful building and grounds, but horrible people in charge.

I have a written agreement that has automatically been extended each year, with the same terms. Recently I received a charge for something covered in my package with them. They refused to take the charge off my invoice, even though they acknowledged it was part of my covered services, and charged my credit card for the service. Further, they are supposed to answer my phones, and yet the phone constantly goes directly to my voice mail without being answered by the staff, despite the fact that i pay for this service. When I voiced my concerns to the "new" manager (there have been several new area managers over the past few years), he was unresponsive. He did not call me. I received an untimely email essentially saying, "too bad". They are telling me i am obligated to remain there for 3 1/2 more months, despite their refusal to honor our agreement. STAY AWAY at your PERIL.

Net net, it is a scam and bad experience......avoid if possible.

Michael, the owner, is professional and responsive, and the people who currently use the co-working space are friendly also. The office is spacious, supplies are well-stocked, and the coffee never runs out. The landlord Michael, mentions that the offices are low key, and they are. It's all cubicles and private offices. There is a nice kitchen with coffee and two fridges. The internet comes from a fiber connection and is 50 Mbit down (fast enough) and 50 Mbit up (much faster than you usually see.) And for those of you who care about latency, the ping is only 2 ms which is super fast. Geek Offices is a bit of a time machine. It's like the old days before super pretty shared offices with tiny tables and tiny boxes of an office. No. Here you get big private cubes with plenty of space. Nice offices with plenty of room. And yeah, you're renting from the guy who owns the building. He's very responsive and flexible. It's his building and he's happy when it serves people's needs. The offices are on the lower level. Some of the offices have high windows, but overall this is not a place with lots of natural light. The cubes and furniture aren't new, but they're in good shape and they get the job done. There are showers and bathrooms right across the hall. You get 24-hour access with a key card, and privates offices lock. And more time machine...there is parking. A lot of parking. It isn't cheap, but hey, where can you get parking just two blocks from Inman Square? There's even visitor parking. Whoever has that? Now if anyone would actually visit you in person, they could go right ahead and park for free. Really, this is a place to work. Get stuff done. Heads down. Just you or a small team. Then get lunch in Inman Square. Sometimes going back to the future works just fine. Oh, one more thing. The rental terms are incredibly flexible. You pay for the month. You can leave with as low as one day's notice. For example, you decide on December 30th that you need to leave. You give notice on the 31st. You can leave the next day. You don't owe anything. I had to have it explained to me twice because I couldn't actually believe it.
