I went here for the first time for a promotional event with 93.5 KDAY. You have to drive the streets to get here, but once you're here its a vibe! There are food trucks outside the brewery, they have an outdoor patio, indoor seating, TVS with sports games on and very spacious with seating. The Brewery has a menu on the wall of everything they carry, I got the mexican Lager Santirosa. Its really good! The bartenders serving customers were very attentive taking care of all the customers. You can try a shot glass of the beer before you get the drink. The radio station 93.5 KDAY had DJs there playing classic Hip Hop, they also played games to win free tickets. It was a vibe and good times. The bar is family friendly and pet friendly meaning you can bring kids and dogs to hang out. The Parking is good size lot for everyone and the inside is very spacious. The prices where cheap, very cool place to check out in Hawthorne. If you're in the area check this place out. read more

1st time coming to this brewery.... The vibe is great , food truck was good and the beer is pretty good. Only issue is if you don't pay attention or ask for a receipt you won't notice they charge you for more than you drank Somehow I end up paying for someone else fun time! Sad to say don't think I'll be going back. read more

I decided to have a party for my wife, who just finished her doctoral degree, at Common Space Brewery because we love the vibe and energy. They have an excellent beer list, great music, awesome service, and many other aspects that make it a great place to celebrate or simply hang out. The communication during the booking was clear and concise, with excellent customer service. They allow private food vendors for your event and you can bring your own decorations and snacks, as well as other non alcoholic drinks (for the kids). My guests loved this place, their kids had fun, and everyone said they'd come back to chill and have a good beer with good friends. The event coordinator on the day of was very friendly, accommodating, and hospitable. Excellent experience overall read more

This taco truck was super expensive. $85 dollars. I think we can officially call this a rip off. I ordered the Burrito, and Nachos loaded with beans, and other stuff my girl wanted on it. I have never paid this much for standing mexican food. Guess you can call this a Robbery by a young girl with the calculator. I am also assuming the brewery gets their cut... anyway, this is the last time these feet are stepping on that ground. read more

Okay, disclaimer, I do not drink beer! But I CAN comment on the vibes and suitability for non-beer drinkers. TLDR: tons of easy free parking; great vibes and lots of great outdoor seating; mostly beer; usually have a food truck or you can pack in your own food. The day we went, they had run out of their hard seltzer so there were only beer options. So i didn't actually drink. But they normally have one house made seltzer on tap. My friends all enjoyed their beers. I loved the open concept of the brewery and abundance of outdoor seating, both covered and uncovered. There was a family with kids next to us who'd brought their own food and games like Jenga to play while enjoying the weather and bevvies. read more

A great brewery to hang out with friends. Great selection of beer. I personally had myself a beer at 16 percent alcohol by volume that they had me share with another person. The space itself is great. There is plenty of seating indoors and outside. The atmosphere was festive. This brewery and the neighboring brewery all share the same street where you'll have to turn into the alleyways. You'd never expect for something like this to exist in this neighborhood. Either way, great spot for beer and to hang out. Check it out one of these days if you're considering a brewery. read more

HUGE brewery with tons of tables and a nice patio as well. Came here for dog event and there were TONS of doggies all well behaved and leashed. Favorite beer was "Mr. Tangerine Man" a light, sour with a smooth finish -- highly recommended. Staff was friendly and only minor complaint was the warm temps -- but not much they could do except open the large windows and doors. Will come back on a cooler day for sure. Liked the couches and big screen tv's too. Oh - the TACO TRUCK they have on Sundays is amazing! Best street tacos I've had in a long time -- especially the Chix. Mole one! read more

Summary: An amazing local brewery with great beer, space, staff, and food trucks. Chubby Unicorn series and Coolhaus series beers are incredible. A must-visit for the area. My wife and I have been to Common Space numerous times over the past few years. We love the ever-changing list of beers that they offer, and their brewing game has definitely improved over time. Their massive indoor/outdoor space works really well for large crowds, and they have lots of TVs, non-alcoholic options, and parking to accommodate everyone. read more

Dish the vibe here. In a clean business industrial area. The chubby unicorn POG is. A must It's flavored with passion fruit oranges and guava. It reminds me of a non bitter Hazy. I tried many others that I wasn't impressed with but if I like one beer from a local brewery I consider myself winning. Would return. This place is perfect if you just picked up family or friends from LAX. You stop here before heading to your destination. It's got an inviting chill vibe. Outside patio is perfect. read more

The third stop on our short LA trip. If there's one thing LA breweries having going for them it's their patios. Those things are gold, especially when you're traveling from a snow destination & looking to thaw out. brews and vibe here was th, especially for out of towners. The hazy IPA was good but the pils was a little off kilter for us. We'd be back for the atmosphere and the vibe. Tried Common Space Brewery for the first time yesterday and I already want to plan my next trip back. The ambience is great and the place is decorated in a very aesthetically pleasing way. They have a wide selection of beers and several hazy ipas (my favorite) including a triple ipa that's delicious and 10%abv. I really liked the Food Fight Hazy IPA and the Mexican Lager was nice. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because I really wasn't a fan of the Amor Picante (Chili Amber Lager). I love ambers and spicy things, but this beer honestly tasted like tajin mixed with water. I really did not enjoy it and it's honestly on me for not asking to sample it first, but it sounded so good I figured I'd enjoy it more than I did. Would love to go back and try some more especially on their trivia night!! read more

I was a Wedding Coordinator on 11/11/2023 at this fabulous venue. This venue was perfect for this type of a wedding. The couples were so simple and chill they just wanted their guests to enjoy the night. Kennedy who is the Private Events Manager went above & beyond to help out in any way. She truly was amazing and so much fun to work with. Overall the staff was super nice and there is plenty of parking as well. I recommend this venue to anyone who is having a Birthday Party, Weddings or Special Events. You will not regret it. read more

A spanking-new addition to Hawthorne (Mar 1, 2018 grand opening)! Common Space offers a killer indoor-outdoor hang out space + solid beers. AMBIENCE (5/5) Nestled in an industrial complex, Common Space's 24,000 sq ft production craft brewery and taproom proffer the most thoughtfully-designed brewery experience that I've seen: large outdoor patio with plenty of picnic tables, modern indoor lounge, gleaming bar. Amenities include: dog-friendly!, wifi, board games, corn hole, even blankets in a basket near the door in case it gets chilly outside. Impressive! BEER & FOOD (4/5) Our group ordered several flights to try a few of the 9 beers on tap the day we went: Session IPA, Easy IPA, Nitro Coffee Stout, Imperial Honey Saison, and Dry-Hopped Helles. Our collective agreement was that while the beers were solid, the space is more spectacular than the beers. Of the ones we tried, my fave was the Honey Saison. To contrast, State Brewery 15m away has delicious beers but a less engaging space. If you want a fun place to hang, go to Common Space. If you're all about the beer, there may be better options (although Common Space just opened so its beers may very well get better and better!). While Common Space sells chips, pretzels, jerky, and almonds, imagine my delight at seeing my favorite Taiwanese fried chicken place Hot Star parked along the outdoor patio!!! 5 stars for taste in food trucks, Common Space! Hot Star's large fried chicken breast is a delight for the eyes and taste buds. If they're there, get some chicken. SERVICE (5/5) Friendly staff, didn't mind giving our thirsty group cups of water twice. Team is happy and upbeat! FYI: As Janette L. mentioned in her review, there were a TON of kids here. A baby or two at a brewery is common, but a massive group of parents brought their small children for an afternoon of patio drinking (for adults) and picnic playtime (for kids). If you and/or your dogs don't fancy cute kiddos running amuck, Common Space might not appeal to you. read more

Heard about this place from a guy I matched with on Tinder (Yes, Tinder is finally good for something) and immediately came to check it out this past weekend with a friend. The venue is HUGE. Plenty of outdoor picnic table, some loungey couches inside, and more indoor seating at the bar and tables. Everything looks gorgeous and very well done. The staff was nice and helped my friend and I with choices since we were both a bit indecisive. Beer: They had about 8 beers to choose from. I went with the Common Space IPA, Nitro Coffee Stout, Double IPA, and one other I can't remember. Of the four the CS IPA was my favorite and I would definitely get it again. The Nitro Coffee Stout was my least favorite because it was on the watery side to me and the coffee taste was week. The Double IPA was fine but nothing I'd need to come out of my way for. The flight was also on the pricier end being $13 for 4 tastes, BUT their flight glasses are slightly larger than the norm so there is that. I definitely recommend this place if you just want to have beers with friends and not worry about finding space because really they have more than enough and the space really is lovely especially when the weather's nice. It's also close by other new breweries so you can hop around if that's your thing as well. read more

Cool Brewery! Local in LA not bad craft beers Large space and seating inside also large deck outside with additional seating! Of course the local sports Games on their wide screen TVs. There is a food truck that provides an array of deep fried delicacies ( mostly fries) we shared some shrimp fries & some sweet potato fries! Overall a nice experience! By the way this place is a hidden gem located in a old brick factory or storage docking building it's a little hard to find even with a gps! They do have a little tent sign in the entrance driveway! read more

I checked out this place on Sunday afternoon with some friends. I honestly don't know much about beer, so my selection criteria is really just what has the highest ABV... and the flight I got was great (personal favorite - Imperial Saison). They have a cute outdoor patio and a food truck may be parked along it (the one that was there served Taiwanese chicken and other snacks, which were delicious). They have corn hole, and I think I saw some people playing board games. (You could probably bring your own.) It's a decently sized space with good beer and I guess it's kid friendly on Sundays because there were a TON of babies/toddlers! I've never seen that at a brewery before. Probably less kids on weeknights and Friday and Saturday nights I'd assume, but either way, it's good to have a spot like this in Hawthorne that can cater to every crowd. I hope they're here for the long haul! read more

The Brewery occupies an old warehouse, they have fixed it up really nice and there is lots of room indoors and out for groups, beer prices are reasonable and they have a nice selection of beers and soda. The brewery is lacking it's own food service and needs to rely on catering trucks to be there if you want something to eat. You can bring your own food or take your chances on which food truck is there when you arrive, there was a BBQ truck that sold out the night we were there and then a Taco truck pulled up. Might be nice if they could have their own kitchen to have stable options to go along with your beer. Would be willing to give them another try. read more

Writing this review after my first visit to this place: This place has a variety of styles of beers. The ambiance is great. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. It is dog friendly. I don't have a dog, but I love seeing dogs at breweries. The doggies get to leave the indoors for a bit, and that's a nice sight! There is a parking lot. There's a food truck outside if you want food. I gotta say, I enjoyed the flight I got for the most part and honestly, that is as good as it gets! There have been times when I just like one beer from a flight or none at all-- so Common Space, you will definitely see me here many more times in the future! read more

We went to meet friends we hadn't seen in a while on Friday night. The music was so loud on the patio that sitting next to each other, we could not be heard. It wasn't just us, everyone around us was complaining of the same thing. We asked at the bar if they could turn the music down on the patio and the answer was "no". We finally left early because we were all hoarse from yelling at each other. Why would Common Space have a conversation area and then make communicating virtually impossible? We love the beer and the vibe here and have had great times in the past. It was a very disappointing night. Hopefully this was a fluke and volume on the patio will be evaluated and addressed. There are so many local choices of breweries that have a comfortable environment - we'd be sorry to remove Common Space from our list of favorite breweries. read more

Established in 2017.

We started developing the concept of Common Space Brewery in the summer of 2015, broke ground in the spring of 2017, and opened our doors in early 2018. We make a wide selection of craft beers with a focus on lagers and west coast IPAs.

However, after reflecting on the entire planning process, I feel future couples deserve transparency before making such a large investment. To start with the positives: the venue itself created a beautiful atmosphere for our wedding, Critic's Choice Catering was loved by our guests, and several setup details, including the welcome table and cake tables, were set up as planned. Many guests complimented the food throughout the evening. Unfortunately, the planning process behind the scenes was extremely stressful and, at times, disappointing due to repeated communication issues, inconsistencies, and preventable mistakes. From the beginning, Kaycie (the founder and coordinator) sold us on the venue by emphasizing that it was "all-inclusive" and offered things other venues did not. During our initial meetings, I specifically asked for an overall quote that included a dinner package so we could determine whether the venue fit within our budget. I trusted her expertise and guidance when she provided us with pricing, and because it fell within our budget, we decided to move forward. Several months later, we discovered that we had actually been quoted for an appetizer package rather than a dinner package. Kaycie stated that we had mentioned possibly bringing in our own catering company, but that was simply a question we asked while exploring options. It was never confirmed that we would be using outside catering. The difference in pricing was substantial, and we felt misled. When we raised our concerns, we were told that we should have noticed the pricing difference and asked more questions before submitting our deposit. As first-time wedding planners, we relied on the expertise we were paying for and expected accurate information from the start. Another concern involved what was actually included with the venue. During our tour, Kaycie proudly showed us a large book of linen options and explained that they offered far more choices than other venues we had visited. Later, we learned that glassware, china, silverware, tables, chairs, linens, and other essentials were not included as we had believed. As people who had never planned a wedding before, we did not know these items would need to be rented separately. We often felt like information presented in person did not align with information later provided through email. For larger weddings, I would strongly encourage couples to get every detail in writing and verify exactly what is and is not included. At one point, we were told, "We have no control over how you read and interpret our literature." As clients relying on the venue's expertise and documentation, that response felt dismissive rather than helpful. One of the biggest disappointments was the seating chart. Kaycie sent me another bride's seating chart as a template and instructed me to follow that format. I did exactly that and even asked her to review it beforehand to make sure everything looked correct. She confirmed it was fine. On the wedding day, however, families were split apart, couples were separated, parents were seated at different tables, and children were not seated with their families. We later learned that she had told some of our guests she could not fully read the chart. Had that concern been communicated beforehand, I would have gladly clarified it or come in myself to ensure it was set up correctly. Instead, one of the most important organizational pieces of the reception was mishandled despite us paying for coordination services and setup assistance. There was also a serious issue involving one of the bartenders, who we later learned was terminated. Multiple guests informed us that he refused to serve drinks unless they tipped him, despite the fact that we paid for bartending services and supplied all of the alcohol ourselves. Guests reported feeling pressured to tip, and one guest was even told, "I have rent to pay," before being asked to send money directly to him. Another guest was left in tears after an uncomfortable interaction. We were also told he attempted to charge for premium tequila shots using tequila that we had personally provided. Several guests commented that drinks were inconsistent and tasted different throughout the evening. I do want to recognize Brendon, the operations manager, who was kind, professional, and genuinely apologetic. He listened to our concerns, acknowledged that these issues should not have happened, and took accountability for the areas where they fell short. His response was the first time we truly felt heard during this process. I understand that no wedding is perfect and that unexpected issues can arise. However, communication, accountability, and professionalism are critical when couples are investing significant time, trust, and money into one of the most important days of their lives.

The owner of Posh Place change the location of the venue due to not wanting to renew her lease due to complaints with her business neighbors. She moved the venue further out. My contract was based on her Carson location. The reason I choose this venue is because of the location. It was local for my guest. Not only did the owner make the decision to change the location due to her reason but she did not notify me until I contacted her regarding the party planning. The owner is also a party planner and decor which I was also using her services for. I was planning a sneakerball for my daughter in which my guest would have needed time to get their outfits together. I asked the owner for Save the date invites by the middle of February on January 22nd just to give my guest a heads up. I also confirmed with her that the Save the Date and the actual invitations would be done and she replied yes. I never received them. The party was supposed to be May 10th. On March 22, 2025, I sent the owner a text regarding what was included in the decor just to see if there was anything else I needed to get. She replied "yes, you on my to do list for today". When I finally talked to her on March 22, she informed me that she moved my event to another location. On Tuesday March 25th, I texted her letting her know that I would have to cancel the event due to the relocation. She quickly canceled my invoice which is fine but also sent me the distance to the new venue and the old venue from my house stating that they are with in the same distance (Carson and Cerritos). That was unnecessary because I was not going to be the only person at the party. I emailed her twice and text her regarding a refund ($300) of my deposit. As of today, I so have not received my refund.
