It took quite a while to finally check this place out. We tried a few times and it wasn't open so make sure to check their hours. I believe on weekdays they open at 4pm and weekends at 2pm. The Kolsche beer I had was really tasty and I look forward to going back to try others. My other half enjoyed his Mexican Lager. We were able to enjoy watching the Dodgers game there - there were several TV's playing various sports which isn't always available at breweries. They have bar counter seating, outdoor seating and a food truck if you get hungry. They day I was there, there was a birria truck. It's off the beaten track so you won't likely be driving past it without intension. It's really close to LAX so if you happen to be in the area, I highly suggest checking this place out. They also have different events going on in the evening around 6pm - live music, games, trivia, etc., Small parking lot but ample street parking.

My daughter knows where to take her parents when we visit...craft breweries. Tortugo is intimate and fun. Especially on a Sunday night when Dodgers beat Mets to head into the World Series. Gochu Gang was cooking Korean-Latino tacos of amazement. My daughter and I each had two of the tasty and fruity Mai Tai sour beers. So so so good. He tried IPAs. Crowd vibe so fun, and winning a big Dodgers' game made the place electric...in a cool smaller brewery way. Cheers. Great service with just one beer tender managing to serve all of us with blonde curls and a smile. Cheers again.

Jeremy is the best always has all the games on for us. The environment is amazing. The beer smacks. Erick, Jorge, Alex and Oscar all have the vibes! Best brewery in the South Bay.

We like their beers and it's a great spot to catch a Dodgers/ Lakers/ Kings game. I like their Lager, Kolsch, Red, and pilsner. Friendly staff, and cool vibes for sure!

What a cool brewery I stumbled upon, delicious beers and my favorite is Beltran red and Island time Staff cool and chill plenty of parking in lot

Stopped by Tortugo for a beer before the Rams game and so glad we did! Eric was amazing and definitely takes pride is what he does. Very knowledgeable on the beer and great service! They had a nice selection of beer and everything was great. We will definitely be coming back!

I think I found my new favorite brewery!?? I've been a die hard angel city gal but I happened to come back to my old hood to donate some books and made a quick pit stop. There's free parking at the brewery and it's tucked away among other industrial businesses. I came on a Sunday at 3:00 pm and it wasn't crazy busy. They had the pre season football game, a tv for the FIFA women's World Cup, and another screen playing a women's UFC match I started with a regular michelada (they have a spicy option as well) and ended up getting 5 tasters at 2 dollars each. 10/10 recommend the tasters and The michelada! Even if you think you don't like micheladas, I promise you you'll like this one. For the tasters I got the slow and Glo hazy IPA, which has a 7.9% ABV, next, I had the Annie's hard seltzer, which is a peach seltzer add a 6% ABV. I tried the mai tai PA, which was a 5% ABV and had notes of pineapple, orange, coconut and cherry. I also tried the peach cobbler, kettle sour, which is brewed with fresh peaches and graham crackers, it had an 8% ABV. And the last one I tried was the yaaassss!!! Which included notes of banana, strawberry, mango, pineapple, cherry and included edible glitter -- it sits at 4% ABV If you want to do one of the casters, they give you a little card to fill out - I strongly recommend it, I think you can finish it with one person I also got the German bratwurst which is braised in kicker rock IPA and served on a pretzel bun with grilled onions and stone ground mustard . Total for the flight, the bratwurst, and the michelada was $28 not including tip Chill vibes alllllll around

    Flight of signature beers.

Definitely one of my favorite breweries that I've been supporting since Covid. I recommend their flight with signature beers & seasonals. The ambiance is always inviting with helpful staff that are knowledgeable about beer. Their Micheladas are my go to and their rotating food trucks pair well. Great vibe to catch a sports game with plenty of tv's.

Great Brewery, with different beer types, gas heaters for the winter months and a variety of food trucks/vendors are present to satisfy your craving. If you live in the Inglewood/adjacent area I recommend going and enjoying a beer.

Cool, little spot, tucked away. Delicious beers on tap and friendly service. Will be back. Kitchen closes at 9.

Great taco truck on site and an amazingly huge selection of beers on tap. I did a taster and there wasn't a single one I wouldn't have wanted a pint of but sadly I could only fit one more pint in after the flight and tacos. Parking is limited behind the building and street parking seems a bit sketchy but there's a lot of of it in the evening.

Tortugo is one of my friends and my favorite breweries. They have great beers on tap. Of their regular beers our favorites are the West Coast Double IPA, the West Coast Livin' and their Chocolate Raspberry Porter. They just announced two new flavors Surf the EAC West Coast IPA and the Peachy Keen Seymour Kolsch which I'm very excited to try! They a limited food menu of burgers, fries, a bratwurst, etc which are very tasty and now they've started to have a Crawfish Boil guy come Saturdays. Messy but very good. Parking is a bit limited in the lot but we've always been able to find street parking close by when the lot is full.

Mango Hard Seltzer 6.1% I think
    Erin H.

Large space, solid number of options, comparable pricing to other LA breweries. Was def chilly (went on a cooler, rainy day, no heat lamps and indoor seating was contiguous with outdoor so guessing not any warmer.) Got a mango hard seltzer and enjoyed it! Appreciated the non-beer option on tap.

Beer Flight and Crawfish! *Crawfish are only available on Saturdays and only while in season!

What better place to have a book club meeting than at a brewery?! Haha…read more My girls and I absolutely loved common place; such a vibe with such good music and energy! There's plenty of seating and I can imagine during this time (World Cup season) this place gets so packed and fun in the best way. The service was great. We had a lot of questions about the drinks. We were recommended a flight if we were unsure which you can customize; I definitely recommend this if it's your first time so you can try a little bit of everything. They had a vendor selling tacos, burritos and other Mexican style items which were absolutely delicious and with the drinks it was a perfect combo! I'm not sure if they change that side vendor or if they are a semi permanent partner with them, but I love that they offer small businesses an opportunity to sell their foods. I was told that they used to be located in a different area or accessing brewery was through another area so pay attention to signs, especially for their nearby parking. Although we had no issues finding this space! To end our fabulous book club meeting, we of course, had to take our festivities to the Photo Booth. Such a fun and cute little touch too and already cute place. I loved it and I hope I can catch one of the World Cup games here!

That said, I had a Michelada here, something I normally don't order. It wasn't the best, it wasn't the worst. Hence the 3 stars. We were here 30 minutes after this place opened and after circling around we were told to park next to the adjacent building. I did try my friend's beers here and after 15 minutes we left. Plus, Emily Gilmore implied that it was…read morenitwit juice and Buffy devolved to a Cave person after drinking enchanted beer so these quasi-after-school specials taught me that heathens and their kin drink beer. Of course, I kid, beer can be a wonderful thing, I just rather do cocktails and shots. So I went to Sugar Monkey Brewing because of a different pull: a power point slide show where friends pitch their single friends to strangers for a chance at love or romp. So I went in not knowing much of Sugar Monkey Brewing and I left with clear understanding that this place is an industrial beer oasis near the beach. The contrast of sand and blue on the horizon and the present aluminum lining made me feel like I was seeing a new uncommon mixture that proved that clashing environments can gel to delight. I found parking easily. It was a Saturday early evening, and about a 5 minute walk was where I discovered my spot. I honestly hated that I had to walk those 5 minutes but the walk uplifted my spirits for the weather was California crisp and the air and sky and atmosphere felt safe and proper. I wondered if i had the right place? The streets looked like too industrial. Like I had gone to one of those places that had a lot of factories in rows, but not much else. But I turned a corner and there was Sugar Monkey. Then I realized that a brewery would probably look like a beer factory so this place, with all its steel and pumps, had found its home amongst beach skies. As I walked back to my car, later that evening, I was in slight awe at the pale light blue and orange sky. It was serene, and vast and somehow beach appropriate. The water tower iin a picture I took was a nice touch as it reminded me of the Animaniacs, especially Wakko and Dot. I arrived after the first presentation was on its way. I started to listen intently to understand the dynamics because this all seemed so weird yet plausible. Like a dating auction turned fun not hokey or corny? The person was hyping up her friend J. Apparently, he spoke many languages, and hiked and did all these other stuff that were meant to induce attractions. Then she asked, What can he do? And she then explained how she was going to make a joke and that no one needed to fear going to hell if they laughed. And she then reveal that the thing he can't do is SEE because he was blind. The joke was in good taste. The joke, at least to me, carried disability pride. She had revealed that he was different because his sight was different to a crowd of would be judges and suitors. The strength of the duo was refreshing, dare I say, more than the beach breeze. Being witness to this moment made me feel like I had seen a beautiful moment and one I never imagine I would see. And for this reason alone, my trip to Sugar Monkey was more than fun, it was heart-opening. The place itself is cool. Their outside was a huge garden like setting. The place had pool, however, the patio is crowded so I am not sure how people can play if too many people are there. Another thing I saw- that is a credit to this place- is that it had a wheelchair elevator. So if someone was chilling in the patio and wanted to chill in their wooded floor area- where the bar was they could use the wheelchair lift, if they could not use their legs. The place had also had kind of like an off-beat personality. It had a British phone, an astronaut that seemed to have hit a space that painted him with grafitti flare, and beers with names like green means go. I think I would go to this place again, for the beer and the air and to Karaoke. I loved this place and the activity it hosted!

Unfortunately, the service completely ruined what should have been a fun afternoon. The brewery was practically empty, we were the only group there so there was no reason for the attitude we received. One of the servers, a woman with bright orange/blonde bleached hair, was incredibly rude from the moment we arrived. Every interaction seemed to annoy her. She rolled her eyes when anyone in our group asked for anything, acted inconvenienced by the simplest requests such as ordering another beer, and made everyone at our table feel uncomfortable. The worst part was that her behavior upset my 7-year-old son so much that he ended up crying. No child should leave a birthday celebration feeling intimidated by a server. To top it off, as we were finishing up, she started loudly slamming chairs around, making it painfully obvious that she wanted us to leave, even though there was no one else in the brewery. We came to support a local business and celebrate a special occasion, but instead left feeling unwelcome. Based on this experience, we won't be returning.
