The nurses at this practice are the absolute worst! I like my pcp but literally cringe at the thought of having to go in and interact with their nurses. They always act miserable and make me feel like I am ruining their life by being there. When I went for my yearly check up last week, the nurse yawned and grunted at me through the entire interaction and then just told me that I was done after the doctor was finished. The doctor had mentioned labs so when I asked if I was having that done she said, "did he say you were?" Then she told me to go to the lab and ask. I wandered around the office lost trying to find the lab and when I got there one of the lab nurses had to go hunt the doctor down to find out. I never leave reviews unless they are good. its almost a joke how ridiculously rude and incompetent these nurses are. As a very laid back person who isn't normally bothered by people, I can't be the only person who feels this way. Recently moved to Richmond and my husband established care with Ashleigh Coles, DO. She has been very thorough, following through on some previous ER tests. Everyone we've come in contact with at the practice has been friendly, helpful and competent. Having worked in primary care myself, several of the complaints (reviews) about insurance and office visits are not valid; just showing patients' lack of understanding how primary care must operate under current system, whether we like it or not. WOW! Reviews are horrible! Now, I understand why two of my previous medical doctors, and now my PA for 2 1/2 years has left. WOW! My only complaint was the chairs in the lobby are absolutely nasty, filthy dirty, and I don't understand why office manager or whoever responsible for the decor can't clean or swap those chairs out. read more

I called Commonwealth primary care in ridgefield and in Wyndham to try to get my blood pressure medicine prescription to help me because I was in the middle of switching locations so they said until I see my doctor at the new location I cannot get my medicine, I ended up having to go to the emergency room before I had a stroke, if this is policy, it is the dumbest policy I've ever heard of, they didn't try to give me any type of medicine that would help me until my appointment so I tell anyone who's thinking about going to these locations to think again .this is a bad practice if someone tells you they need their prescription filled and their blood pressure is at the point of them having a stroke they should do something to try to help that person read more

I called my health insurance customer phone number and said they are in network. I get there and they tell me not only do they not take my insurance they would not let me self pay ??? My partner has gone here for two years now and has had two providers here. Her initial provider was great but unfortunately moved away about a year ago (good for her). Now she has been saddled with the most atrocious team I have ever seen or heard of. I swear they have never met a single person in recovery before. They treat her like she's trying to abuse her meds and have failed to fill her prescriptions multiple times. God forbid she tries to adjust her medication. Additionally, they have LOST an important document in her medical records -- you can't just say 'oh we lost it sorry'. That's a violation of HIPA and a civil offense, not to mention the fact that it seriously hinders her from switching providers. This provider and her nurse have been all around been rude and dismissive to her at every turn and I have been appalled and out raged at every step of this entire ordeal. I used to be a patient of Dr. David Stein's until December 2024. My care was terminated without warning and the excuse given was failure to establish a provider patient relationship. How can this be true when I had been a patient for 10+ years. I got labs, referrals, letters from him and his office. I believe my dismissal was retaliation because of wrongful behavior towards my partner. The termination came in a letter unsigned by The Physicians of Commonwealth Primary Care. I never did anything to cause this behavior towards me. What did I do so bad to be treated this way? Now, I am scrambling to find care. Dr. Stein is not the honorable person I thought he was. Honestly the worst customer service. Sadly there are too many issues to count, from internal misdirection, inappropriate comments and inability to get things done quickly and professionally. Reception job description...must act as if every patient is a burden and try to ignore patients if when they stand in front of you. I am beyond words!!! Four weeks ago I was diagnosed with bronchitis by Patient First with fluid in my lungs. I was put on an antibiotic and seemed to get better. A week ago, I started having the same symptoms and I again went to Patient First four days ago and was diagnosed again with an upper respiratory infection/bronchitis with clear lungs. I was given prednisone, an inhaler and nose spray. I had two covid tests each visit within the four weeks, which all came back negative. Today I decided it was time to see my primary doctor, as I am not getting better and feel I have fluid in my lungs and need them checked out. I have been a patient of Commonwealth Primary Care since 1987. I was told because I have "covid symptoms", they would not see me in the office, but they could offer me a tele-visit. I'm not sure how one can diagnosis fluid in the lungs via a tele-visit. I did the right thing when this pandemic started. I received my two vaccinations and was respectful of other's and wore a mask as to not spread the virus. Being refused to be seen by my primary care physician terrifies me. What's next??? This place is awful! Not only have they messed up billing the incorrect insurance 3+ times but the staff is extremely rude. Octavia the Practice Manager is very unprofessional. She hung up on me 3 times without ever taking the time to listen to my concerns. They refused to refill my blood pressure meds because they want another co pay to screw up the billing on. Dr. Jackson and her staff are awful! She ran a drug test on my mom and they accused her of taking Tramidol and other drugs that she has never been prescribed! I should not be getting a phone call from my mother in tears. I know all the medication my mother takes and they most likely mixed up her urine test with someone else's. How dare your practice accuse my mother of this false BS. I'm sick of your practice! Dr. Dageford was by far a better physician than you are and I'm so sorry he's retired. She was very friendly and we went over my history carefully and discussed further testing and other referrals. She also told me something about a supplement I take interacting with a blood test that no other provide ever has mentioned and that could have affected my labs for years! I wish I could give negative stars. I've been a patient at their practice for over 16 years. Dr Allan was very kind but retired. Unfortunately I had the misfortune to have an appt with Dr Rolfe. I thought i was there for a physical. They called it a well visit. I'm having trouble moving my arm. Dr Rolfe refused to talk to me about it because I was there for a well visit and would have to make another appointment for my arm. Said it was a different type of Bill. The nurse manager explained that i need to pay another copay and they need to bill separately for him to talk to me about my arm. I just left. So condescending and rude. Literally every horrible cliche about the medical system and doctors with "god complexes" are at this practice. Leaving the practice altogether and I'm not worried about missing much. I'm not returning to Dr Sherri Jackson and possibly the practice. The front desk and check out were fine. Unfortunately, my appointment also left me in tears like another reviewer stated. My insurance needs this thing called a Well Check visit. It is not her fault that this needs to be done. However, I assumed they also did a physical as well which is what was needed and asked for when making the appointment. I was having issues but was told to go see my specialists and was given no chance to discuss an issue that I have been having that is not a specialist visit. Could also tell she did not want to be there by her attitude and tone. I don't like writing bad reviews and never have needed/wanted to take the time or be that person. I have been seeing Dr. Stein at this practice for over ten years. On occasion I've seen a PA when he is not available. Throughout the past ten years the staff have been friendly and efficient. Sure, some time I get an appointment quickly, and others not as quick but regardless they get me in as best they can. Dr. Stein is my kind of doctor; knowledgeable, has a good personality and is a straight shooter. I appreciate him telling me my options and not pulling any punches. This means I can trust him! Dr. Sherri T Jackson... The coldest most pompis female doctor I've ever had to share a room with. I went in for a throat issue, she stood a good 4 feet away from me with a flashlight, didn't feel my glands, and said she was going to refer me to an ENT, and a physical therapist for a musculoskeletal issue I've been having going on 4 years now.. The best part is that she sent the referral to a gastroenterologist! Even the woman who called me was confused about why she would send me to a GI! Anyway, after the referral game she pushed me along and said, is that it?.. and started to walk out the door. All the while not even looking at me.. I needed also to explain to Dr. Jackson my recent history since I had been gone a few years and my last Dr in that practice had moved on.. She shushed me along when I tried to talk about the surgeries I've had at Johns Hopkins, I asked her if she saw the notes the nurse had just took prior to her walking in the room? She put her pen down, finally making eye contact with me, paused a moment, and then she said these words.. "I don't know you! " At that point I was DONE! I just got up and said goodbye, and it made my stomach sick all night that I didn't tell her how nasty, and RUDE she was! What was the point of her being so mean?! Nasty, nasty woman. I went to see my doctor today and told them that I had a new insurance company. My insurance card was done electronically so they never sent me any physical card. I used this electronic card for my other doctor appointments, no problem at all. Well at this location the ladies at the front desk gave me such a hard time even told me to go somewhere and made a copy. They would not do it through email or even tried to help me. Long story short .... if this doctor place can NOT keep up with the new technology, i will NOT believe what they do to their patients. A VERY VERY HORRIBLE service and very unhelpful receptionists at the front ! SOOOO BAADDD ! I will never GO BACK to this place ! There are plenty good doctors with nice receptionists out there ! I waited for one hour till she came in and when she finally came she was in a hurry and she kept saying we don't have time to check that today, and we can't do it today! Dr. Rolfe didn't not listen to concern of parent or child....after making an appointment for blood panel he refused to order it on the basis he didn't see it as necessary even thought this is what the visit was for. Another Dr. in this practice ordered the same panel for a younger sibling exact same scenario on the same day but Rolfe refused so child was subjected to blood draw of which panel was not ordered because the Dr. wanted to wave Dr. knows best card even though this is why we came there. read more

It's hard to get any of them to look you in the eyes when they talk to you. Refused medically needed blood pressure medicine presumably because I discussed medical errors in my past treatment. Sent home without meds and then sent 2 letters, 1 registered, one not, telling me I was not their patient. My blood pressure spiked for hours. Could possibly have resulted in a hospital visit. When I made the appointment, the receptionist was curt, almost rude. I had to wait 30 minutes in general waiting area and another 40 minutes in the treatment room, before the doctor came, and I had to read the same magazine 3 or 4 times to pass the time, as there was only 1. They provided no treatment but did not refund the copay. read more

My 88 (almost 89) year old mother had an appointment today at 1:00pm with Dr Jackson. When I picked her up at the assisted living facility, she indicated she had to go to the restroom. I called the office immediately and indicated we would probably be 10-15 minutes late for the appointment. She said that was fine and to go ahead and bring her in. We finished and got to the facility and signed in by 1:15pm. They called us back to the desk at 1:30pm, and said because we were late, my mother couldn't be seen. I told the receptionist that the person on the phone said to bring her in. She needs this appointment because she is moving assisted living facilities. I've never had this happen, Usually the staff understands with the elderly that things happen and they can't move as fast. Also, taking her out in 95 degree heat, and then being told she cant be seen (when we did make the 1:15 window). I indicated we could wait, but they said, to re-schedule and we could be seen in 3 weeks. Absolutely unacceptable. They should have said not to bring her on the phone in the first place. Taking my mom out is not easy, and on top of it, dealing with 95 degree heat outside. My mother has been going there for 5 years, but I am switching her to the Glenside branch. I called the doctor I see there, and they got me an appointment in 2 days. I switched myself to the Glenside branch. We spent 20 minutes discussing this that could have been used to see my mother. The Glenside branch is 20 minutes further away, but the drive is worth it. The Ridgefield office will not get my mother or my business again. I would not book with Dr. Jackson again. Very unempathetic to my situation, and no regard for the elderly or my mother's health. I've never had that happen before, and it won't happen again, because they just lost our business. I tried also explaining that I work on southside, and it isn't easy getting time off from work to take her, and I have to use vacation time. The fact that they didn't notice I had signed in from 1:15 until 1:30 is also frustrating, and then tell me oops- not enough time for the appointment. read more
