As a long term fan of the downtown location, I was tickled to see this west location open, and it does not disappoint! Firstly -- it's in the last storefront on the southwest end. Most maps have it incorrectly located at this time (May 2025). Secondly, they have a lovely outside patio that friendly pup dogs can come with, and a handy window for ordering from the patio! Brilliant. Thirdly, their bread is the bomb! As well as their pastries, but you can buy whole loaves and boxes of croissants to take home and continue the carb nirvana. Fourthly, service is friendly and smiling and helpful. Feel free to ask about what's in the case, or make changes to a menu item. They answer and accommodate as much as possible. This is a fave early spot for us on Sunday mornings! read more

Coffee is bad and the cookies are not fresh they taste like fridge dissatisfied even the drive is not worth it!

The new Community Bakery location did not disappoint! My family has already eaten there several times, and we're officially hooked. The white-on-white petit fours are hands-down my favorite sweet treat in all of Little Rock. My wife is obsessed with the crème brûlée, and the lemon squares are my kids' go-to. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and perfect for lunch, dessert, or just grabbing a coffee with friends and family. Service is always friendly, and the prices are very reasonable. This weekend, we're entertaining at the lake, and our first stop will be Community Bakery to stock up on treats. Highly recommend--you won't be disappointed! read more

We really wanted to love this place since the location downtown is so good. The decor is wonderful and it's very clean. The staff is nice. Our breakfast sandwiches were cold. Even the egg. We had to microwave our own sandwiches to make them edible. The coffee was hot but didn't have much flavor for a blackberry macchiato. We really wanted this place to succeed.... They have a drive through window which was great since the parking lot was full! The best scones I've ever tasted and they were perfect for afternoon tea. You will need to call the Little Rock location to order that morning before 9:00. I also asked for 2 scoops of their delicious chicken salad and she threw in the rolls at no cost. Wow! I ordered the classic BLT today since I've had that at the downtown location and enjoyed it . It came with bread that had fallen apart in delivery and the bacon appeared to have been slapped on a grill and quickly removed ..... very close to what I would call uncooked. I needed to contact the CB west -- on Rodney Parham to make sure my cake had arrived there so that I can pick it up. There is only one phone number for both locations. When calling, I was placed on hold for more than 15 minutes waiting for an employee to answer the phone. There is no direct phone number to the bakery on Rodney Parham. It appears that the owner thinks everyone calling is actually calling to place a cake or other type order. That is not the case here. I was surprised that the bakery's rating were so low in Yelp. Now I understand why! These people need to understand that there are lots of places in Little Rock to order cakes. read more

Walked in to pick up an online order for the office, was greeted by a young african american man who was really nice and he was trying to help but at the same time he was trying to deliver someone's food outside, so he asked an older gentleman (I didn't get his name, he had tattoos on both arms if he could take over (even though this guy was just standing there on his phone to begin with). Already he had a negative attitude. Then I told him I wanted to buy cookies and a drink (both on separate transactions since coworkers wanted cookies too and I was paying for it in cash). He did this loud sigh handed me my change (like for me to hurry up and leave). I left. I'm on lunch and I didn't have time to speak to the manager to report it, or even find out if he's the manager (my goodness if he is!) Got back to the office, and everyone's food was completely wrong. Everyone had gotten the same thing, even though everyone had different orders to begin with. Establishment looks clean, it's only been open for a few weeks but the attitude, come on. If you don't want to serve or work around people get a different job. My coworker experienced rudeness when she picked up her order a few days ago through drive thru before work (30min later and it wasn't ready) and the older lady replied with 'Well what did your coffee have?!" Mind you it was an online pick-up order. Customer SERVICE training is definitely needed at this new location. read more

I have had 2 diametrically different experiences at Community Bakery. I went there a couple of Saturdays ago with my mom for breakfast and it was amazing. I don't even care for wheat bread with whole grains in it, but I had a bite of her breakfast sandwich that came on that particular bread and it was amazing. My croissant was fluffy as a newborn kitten and a buttery slice of heaven. We got some cinnamon rolls to take home for the household as well -- highly recommend. They were amazing. The customer care was excellent, too. The gentleman working behind the counter was very helpful and friendly. I was really excited to see tres leches cake in the case -- it's my Cuban-Filipino husband's favorite and he has a birthday coming up. I called over this morning to order tres leches cake. The woman who answered the phone immediately told me "We don't have that." I politely told her that I saw it in their case 2 weeks ago. She then responded, "Well, it's at the other location." There are 2 locations, so I confirmed I had called Shackleford Road; I had. Her response, "Yeah, well, I guess we don't have it. I don't even know what that is." At that point I thanked her for her time and just said I'd try somewhere else. A couple of ways my business could have been salvaged: "I don't think we have that available today. . . would you like to hear some of the cakes we do have?" "Can I check on that and call you back?" "Honestly, I'm not familiar with that, but I personally love the _____." When I saw their reviews between my first visit and today, I was puzzled by why they didn't have more stars. I love that this bakery is near me! It's smaller than the downtown location but still has a good selection of cookies and cakes, and some savory options as well. Service is always friendly and I've never regretted stopping here to pick up something on the way to a friend's home. This location has a limited selection. You need to get there early to have your pick of donuts and other pastries. The cake donuts are TASTY! I'm so glad I found this place at the end of my visit to Little Rock. I would have eaten them every day! They also have cakes, cookies and bread to purchase to take home. Not anymore! 7:30 am - already out of bagels, healthgrain bread was so bad he said he couldn't use it, we settled on another choice and were told "well, we have no arugula (on the menu) but we have spinach ... they're both green". Worst service I've ever had. The cashier got offended when I asked her to make change for a dollar. She said she couldn't open her register and instead of "problem-Solving" and using the tip jar that was sitting by the register to change a bill for quarters she refused service because she was offended I asked. She is just another example of the incapable triggered hourly worker that can't use any brain cells. Must be the purple hair dye that fried her brain. read more

By far the best bakery in Little Rock! The prices aren't ridiculous for great sweets, cakes, breads, and pastries. Everything here is fresh and you can tell it. They make everything each morning and the stuff they don't sell, they mark down the following day. read more

I pulled up at 5:55 one evening to purchase Christmas cookies for my daughter's school party the next day. As I'm pulling in the parking space, the woman turns the open sign off (while looking at me). I get out of the car and go towards the door and another woman locks it. I stand there and they gesture to me "we close at 6". I said "it's not 6", they shrugged their shoulders and walk to the back. Normally, I wouldn't pull up at a business so close to closing but I had just gotten off work and had to make two child care stops and had misplaced my keys in the daycare. Of course my daughter was disappointed. I was only spending about $20 in those 3-4 minutes it would have taken to help me, however it is probably more than the two of them made in the hour combined. Note to the owner: Your workers are costing you money. read more

I grew up with having the quality of taste , that the Community Bakery. BUT for the first time, I visited the one on SHACKLEFORD Road. I wanted to buy my mom her favorite ... Coconut Pie, for her 70TH BIRTHDAY. It had a soggy crust and it tasted like it had been mixed with a LEMON FILLING. My daughter wanted a single serving KEY LIME, and it was spoiled. The Lime was even BROWN. I bought a pecan pie that was 1/2 off. I figured it would be ruined also , but it was better that the others. There was even a LADY BUG in the case were the cookies and cupcakes were. I will go to the MAIN STREET BAKERY , next time. read more

I visited the Shackleford Road location of Community Bakery today to purchase some pastries for my office. I encountered the most unprofessional retail peron ever. Toya treated me like an unwanted customer. I asked for a small box but she insisted that I tell her how many donuts I wanted before she would get me a box. I stated that I did not want any donuts, she still insisted I tell her every pasty I wanted before she would lean over to get a box. I went along and when I said I wanted a couple of the popovers she stopped and said what is that. I pointed and she said we call that a turnover. She was mad now. She said what else do you want, not what can I get you, how may I help you etc. I went on and said I was unsure why she corrected me and why she was mad. She crammed all of my order into a box. I wanted to order more but Iwas tired of her attitude. I alsed several times what I did to make her mad. It was amazing how she acted huffing throwing my purchases on the counter.
