I was early in recover and this was one of the rules which I broke. what I love about McPike and the counselors at that time, My counselors at the time Kay Janowski, asked her supervisor to allowed me to have (1) last group before I was terminated so I wouldn't leave angry. I thought the world of Kay J, then and still do. I manage to go on with my recovery and still clean 28 years later. McPike helped me but a I also helped myself and after I got there I did not drug seek. I cant blame the facility if I didn't/dont make it, they are the jump start to my recovery, I had to do the work, having the desire to stay cleaning, and using the groups to share my pain and then following the suggests after I left. I was there 9/1989. My life change termendelousy, bachelors degree, supervisor of a men's halfway house (20 years), to now CASAC, for Albany county assisting those who need help just like I did. so How bad do you want to stay clean? They have no Psychiatrist and only 1 Psychologist on staff. Their Alcohol/Drug treatment is adequite. Their Psychiatric treatment is too limited for positive referral.

RECORDS FORWARDING. If you've been having trouble getting your records forwarded since Dr. Brehaut…read moreclosed his office, you can fill out a NYS DOH-3867 form and mail it to the address listed on the form. Don't get me wrong, Dr. Brehaut is a terrific doctor who helped saved my Dad's life when he had a stroke and helped give me precious extra months with my Mom when she had a major stroke. However, we had trouble getting records forwarded after his office closed. Maybe he subcontracted records forwarding to a firm that made an error or maybe there were technical issues with electronic forwarding, I don't know. Nevertheless, we've heard that we weren't the only ones. Dr. Brehaut's contact information online appears to be out of date, so it was difficult to contact him directly to voice concerns about records forwarding issues. As such, we filled out a DOH-3867 form. We just politely wrote that Dr. Brehaut is a fantastic doctor, but for whatever reason... something happened to our forwarding request. Albany proceeded to contact him on our behalf to facilitate records forwarding. Again, a really great doctor, he's done great things for my family! The only minor medical concern I ever had when we visited him was that I thought he was somewhat too cautious about the vaccine. But again, if anyone else is having trouble contacting him due to outdated contact information online and need to get records forwarded, mailing a DOH-3867 form might help.
