Why did CHBS, in Utica NY, take away therapists without a final appointments? This has happened to…read morepatients suffering from medical trauma and therapeutic abandonment in the past - which they were in treatment for. Patients had plans to have final appointments if therapist provider ever left clinic. Upstate "Caring" Partners/CHBS denied patients of that. Would not give any helpful information. It's been a year & patients' diagnosed with medical/therapeutic abandonment still do not have answers. It's not ethical & it's believed they know that. There's people/patients that want honest answers. Especially when therapist they were denied a last appointment with are still listed as affiliated with a part of CHBS, along with other practices (info updated 2/2025). For patients with abandonment issues it's especially hard to find the therapist is still working within the business that denied patients & therapist a final appointment. Abrupt end to therapy with longtime therapist has lead to extreme stress that has worsened other medical conditions that are affected by stress levels. Patients always believed therapist to be genuine, honest & caring and had a plan in place for if therapist ever left the facility but the facility denied patients of their rights to fair & ethical treatment. Not having answers from CHBS is HIGHLY unethical. "Hang in there" is the least helpful thing you can say (Kayla) to a client you traumatized & lie to about the crap situation your office caused. There ARE great shrinks & therapists however the higher ups have no regards for what patients are dealing with can sever very productive, long-term therapy at the drop of a hat.

I waited twice for Dr. Brown to call, who I love, and I never got a call. I asked what number she called and she hung up. Very rude staff in dire need of coaching. There is no excuse for this abuse. Maybe have Sandy lead the coaching as she is very polite as is Lori.

I was early in recover and this was one of the rules which I broke. what I love about McPike and the counselors at that time, My counselors at the time Kay Janowski, asked her supervisor to allowed me to have (1) last group before I was terminated so I wouldn't leave angry. I thought the world of Kay J, then and still do. I manage to go on with my recovery and still clean 28 years later. McPike helped me but a I also helped myself and after I got there I did not drug seek. I cant blame the facility if I didn't/dont make it, they are the jump start to my recovery, I had to do the work, having the desire to stay cleaning, and using the groups to share my pain and then following the suggests after I left. I was there 9/1989. My life change termendelousy, bachelors degree, supervisor of a men's halfway house (20 years), to now CASAC, for Albany county assisting those who need help just like I did. so How bad do you want to stay clean? They have no Psychiatrist and only 1 Psychologist on staff. Their Alcohol/Drug treatment is adequite. Their Psychiatric treatment is too limited for positive referral.

The president and ceo makes his money from charging Medicaid and Medicare for services rendered. The Arc owns a golf course. Honestly the CEO was given a golf course to use, for free. He and his buddies pat them selves on the back in their strange FB movies, scooting around in golf carts. It's a bizarre show of wealth for people who are supposed to be helping the disabled. But they're just the money part, the real folk who help, are what Sociologists call: The Working Poor. The company boasts lots of perks and benefits for full time employes, but 99% of their employees are part timers. This company has a huge turnover rate.

They stated that the resident orthopedic surgeon was not going to be back in the office for 4 weeks. They asked me if I knew of an orthopedic surgeon that could perform my surgery. I had no clue. I asked my buddy Nick, he highly recommended Dr. Russell LaFrance at Hamilton Orthopedics because his orthopedic sports surgical background. I called his office to make an appointment and explained my situation. In 2 days I met with him and 2 weeks later I had my surgery. Dr. LaFrance did an exceptional job performing my surgery. At my 2 week follow up appointment, he stated that I needed physical therapy to strengthen and regain full functionality of my arm. He referred me to RM Physical Therapy, he stated that "they know what they are doing" regarding the rehabilitation protocol for my arm. On my first day at RM Physical Therapy, I was assigned to my physical therapist-Erik Harris. Erik was amazing! He was kind, helpful, and very knowledgeable.
