It's great. The name is a major reason for the 4 stars and also because the place has managed to hold its own in an otherwise decaying and crumbling area of Eagledale. It says Discount Liquors because one side is indeed a liquor store, but the other side is a bar!! It's smaller but if you are familiar with it, it is set up like the Rural Inn on the east side. As a matter of fact, it's part of the same family as Rural Inn and Liquor Cabinet. It's a one stop booze shop where you can hang for pool, darts, and daily specials. This place is edgy, and it's in an edgy area. And by edgy, I'm talking razor's edge. It's kind of inconspicuous as one of the several spots in the strip, but it's close to the track, so depending on when you go, there can be a vast range of characters in there sopping up the atmosphere.

In my opinion, crown has a wide selection of quality, distilled spirits, at what I find to be reasonable prices. It is possible to find unique and interesting items at their stores. It is a chain, and they do have a robust searchable website presence. The staff are generally very helpful. So, if there is something in particular, you're looking for, and can't find it at a crown liquor location you're visiting just ask. Often the staff will be able to recommend another location and perhaps even be able to check with staff at that other location to see if the alternative store has what you're looking for.

They also have a cellar with wine and beer. There's even gelato! But I came for the sandwich! I tried the Batalli sandwich, which was spicy and so flavorful with the perfect balance of textures! I also tried the special Tayaki, which was a good sweet counterpoint! Absolutely delicious! I'm still thinking about these sandwiches a week later! Bacon making class: overall I am glad I did the class, but think there are some things that could change. The information provided at the beginning of the class didn't flow the best, and used a lot of terms I didn't understand- knowing your audience is important. We were told we would get 1.5lbs bacon, and .5lbs bacon bits. When picking up the bacon, we only got the bacon, and none of the bits. This needs to be updated on the class description. Sandwiches: we tried a goose, and a batalli. The goose was good- nothing spectacular. I was a fan of the batalli- nice amount of mayo, appropriate spice, and good amount of meat/cheese. Would definitely get the batalli next time. Overall, I enjoy the sandwiches, think the sandwich class could be improved.

I received a nice welcome as I entered and since I knew my way around I began shopping. Everything is arranged by type of liquor with many sale items in the isleways. The selection is respectable and covers what most are searching for. They have a large cooler with multiple selections of beer that is very cold. The variety throughout the store is nice with a good selection of basic liquors and beers most want. The prices are competitive compared to most liquor stores. I wouldn't say the savings is enough to drive out of your way to say a dollar but if your already in the area, stop in. After 4:00 p.m. on weekdays and most weekends get busy but they move the customers quickly. I found what I came for and paid quickly. Nice employees, types of alcohol grouped together, fillers and condiments grouped together and friendly staff.
