The doctor is good, but the front desk staff is awful. I went in for a routine follow up of a urine check following UTI treatment. The front desk was either unwilling or unable to process this simple procedure, and the head of the front desk staff ended up making medical decisions, for which she unlikely had the training. Apparently, the front desk determines which procedures and patients are allowed to be seen based on some unknown criteria. Unless and until they can solve the front desk issue, you might be better off elsewhere. read more

Be very weary coming here with your animals. They have a lack of empathy and compassion both at the front desk and the back. I received my animal from my previous check with them and he was very upset and sore. He was only getting his ears looked at and checked therefore I was very cautious and uneasy when I got him back and his chest seemed sore as if he was mishandled or held too roughly. Please retrain your staff on how to deal with difficult animals. Customer service can remedy any situation if you are KIND. Dr Grant does not care if her staff is rude or incompetent. Be weary of bringing your animal here. They misdiagnosed my senior Sphynx, Suede staring he was obese due to diet, but he has an enlarged heart. Also, they misdiagnosed my other Sphynx stating he needed teeth extractions, but he did not. He just needed a deep cleaning. read more

We see Dr Bill , his wife and other drs monthly . Our Hunter her ear infection all the time. He gets his monthly ear cleaning and drops and he is fine. He swallowed something and he had to stay 3 days in hospital until it passed . The ladies at front are so friendly. Been coming here about 30 years . They also own a pet hotel Their daughter joined the practice so 3 generations will have run this place. Get there early or have appointment as many people feel this way. Our cat started acting odd and I was able to get a same day appointment after calling several spots. Dr.Chan and her team were great and explained everything. While waiting for her blood work, they sent us home with some food for her and gave her some fluids. We brought her back the next day and Dr.Chan was extremely gentle and kind in delivering us the news every pet owner doesn't want to hear. My dog who is almost 15 years and considered a senior. He had tapeworms and had to be dewormed. They take walk-ins and I didn't have to wait very long. I found out he had other issues so I was told what should be done. I found out the price and decided to have everything done. Found out that he had a heart murmur and cancer. I told the vet I wouldn't do radiation or chemotherapy since he is 15 years old. She agreed with me. He now is on heart murmur pills. He's eating, playing and barking at the big dogs in the neighborhood. You would never guess that he is sick. The vet recommended that I should switch his flea pills so in December I'm switching him to a different flea pills The prices for his meds at that vet are so much better compared to places on the internet and pharmacies. read more

I wanted to give this place a try since it was nearby and they accept walk-ins EXCEPT YOU WAIT FOR LONG HOURS. I understand it gets very busy but they said I can come early and wait in line to sign in. The actual process is to come in as early as 7am, wait in a long line to just check in at 8am to see if they have an available spot for you, then you write your phone number and wait for them to call you. IF they call you, you're going to show up and have to wait a few more hours before you're seen. I waited from 8am - 1pm and at the end still didn't get seen. I was most annoyed that they called at 11am to come in since there was a spot, but I ended up waiting at least almost 2 more hours before I gave up and left. I was trying to be very patient but this wait time was pretty ridiculous. read more

I came on the recommendation of several people. I will say that I was skeptical. Nonetheless I marched forward. Brought my pup. I did have to wait 2 hours. And the 2nd time I waited 3 hours. Now you think 2? 3? Hours? Yes. And you guessed it. Well worth the wait! I would wait again! The staff is amazing. They knew my pup by name on the 2nd visit! I was so shocked! They genuinely cared when they asked how he was doing and wanting to know updates. Cost? Cheap! Well to me, it was. I had taken my pup to another vet who charged 3 times the amount even for meds. So I was super happy to come here and pay way less. The doc is amazing. Even though they were stupid busy, he still answered all my questions and never rushed me. This vet office never disappoints! I was so happy with my experience here once again. I couldn't find a follow-up appointment for my cat, who was recovering from a medical emergency. I didn't realize this place was based on walk-ins only, which I'm so grateful for due to my whole situation. The vet reviewed my cat's chart notes from the ER vet and told me his clinical observation based on his years of experience. I didn't have to spend too much on more unnecessary tests (that were recommended by the ER vet), and now my cat is back to normal; he had to change his diet to Rx for life... The day after Christmas I made the hardest decision I had to make it a long time. It was time to let my girl go. Thank you to the amazing staff that got us in quickly to help me. They helped me wheel my girl in a gurney to the office. The entire team was so gentle with her. My girl and I were regulars sadly so they knew her well. Thank you Julia and Amanda for coming to say goodbye to my girl. I believe Dr. Grant saw us but I'll be honest my mind was all over the place so it might not have been him. They say this place has been around for years I honestly don't know why. I plan to file any and all complaints with who ever will take one. So many complaints too many to list. But the biggest one yes OK they take walking but then why do they make appointments on top of the walk ins. Then there is people with appointments waiting for hours And walk ins waiting for hours And they all comezerate together. This one guy only wanted 2nd shots for his pup and waited for 4 hours he said he wasn't coming back. We are all alone, the vet doesn't come out there he calls you and has a whole diagnosis without ever talking to you and personally I had to throw a fit demanding to talk to vet. This is the best Veterinary in So cal! Why? Because of the system they are using, walk-in only no appointment needed ! I understand many people don't like this system because the line is always so long and sometimes people can't get in when they show up 1 or 2 hours after the staffs start taking names on the waiting list. BUT, think about it. You can always GET A SHOT whenever your petS need to see a Vet, you won't get turned away because you don't have appointments OR you don't have to pay an emergency fee (at least 7,8 times more than normal vet visit) for something that can wait overnight. All you need to do is arriving early at the vet either at 7-7:30am to secure a spot, or 2-2:15pm for the 2nd half of the day. That is the least I can do for my fur babies so this is the perfect system for me. And it has always worked for me. The staffs are fantastic, they have good knowledges. They are extremely efficient and know what they doing. Pricing is very affordable. They keep the records very well so everything is followed up very well too. They are in a wide network with other hospitals so it is easy for them to transfer your pet's record over if needs to. The Vets here are awesome, we usually see Dr. Grant and Dr. Wiedenkeller and they are so nice. Explain everything and always give us best advices. We are very grateful for them. Also see Dr Kim and Dr Au a couple of time. Sweet, gentle, great knowledges. Im sure they are all great. We would love to have a chance to meet other Vets at the facility. The vets and staffs are like family. They truly care. As pet's owners, we try to provide our fur babies the best of everything and a team of good vet is a must on the list. I am grateful for the care they provided for my sister cat, most likely be coming back and the future and they will not charge you for anything unnecessary, and will provide a full estimate beforehand. Yes, the wait time can be long: they rush emergencies in before more stable/standard patients. This is the jiffy lube of vets! They will try to get you to spend as much money as possible on tests that are not necessary. I brought my dog in for vomiting/cough. They tried to get me to get x rays and blood work done. I was only able to afford one (luckily). They recommended doing the blood test. I asked, "why? my dog is young and behaving normally". I think the reality was that the blood work had a higher profit margin than the x ray. A couple days pass and the cough goes away. I get a call from the vet and she told me all his tests came back normal and asked how was he doing. I'm NOT satisfied with the money I paid, for what the blood work yielded. Your dog can swallow a golf ball and they'll push bloodwork; that's why the consultation is cheap. read more

Dr. Grant has to be one of the best vets in California! He is so good with my little guy! We had a bad experience with a surgery and different vet so I'm always a little nervous taking my dog to a new place. I won't go anywhere else now! I prefer going on a Wednesday, Thursday, or Sunday morning, when the office is slightly less busy. Their prices for labs, meds, procedures, etc. are average, if not a tiny bit lower than at least two other vets we've been to. When my dog had to be seen at an emergency vet hospital on a holiday weekend, Dr. Grant called me the following Monday to review what he saw in their notes and to check how my Zero was recovering. I really appreciated that attention to detail and care. Every doctor and staff member is very helpful and kind. The wait times without an appointment are of course not preferred, but the wait is worth it based on the quality of care you receive. read more

We have been coming here for decades, and we have no complaints. Our buddies are always well taken care of. Dr. Grant has performed many surgeries for us over the years, and always takes the time with us to explain the procedure, and the outcome. We love Dr. Grant. All the vets at this office are good. We typically see Dr. Jennings for our regular visits. She's the best! She has always been so caring, and so kind with our buddies, and with us. She's great about answering our questions, and addressing our concerns. She makes us feel so comfortable. Dr. Jennings has also walked us through many losses. We're so grateful for her, we love Dr. Jennings. As for the rest of the staff, like I said, I have no complaints. Most amazing vet experience ever. Wait time was okay, but the prices were sooo perfect for me as a struggling college student. Came in with an emergency for our cat we've been struggling with, dealing with crappy vets trying to overcharge for mediocre and unhelpful care. But these guys were super competent, honest, and kind. Doctor Liz is amazing!! Figured out what was wrong right away and immediately the next day had us in for surgery. Solved our problem in no time, and without insane uncharging like all other vets. First of all I don't know why there's few stars or not so good reviews in this place, for my experience as a first time here taking my dog, they did save me a lot of time and took a good care of my Doggo. He had a big laceration on his neck that weren't aware of their price seems reasonable and the quality of care is very amazing. We went at Garden Grove emergency originally but they were closing soon so then they recommended us to go at VCA Fountain Valley however they don't take life threatening as we were told then we went to this place, We were there before they open 7th on the line, and they bumped us into the first one to be seen. This place is decent but they don't have an appointment system. You literally just come in during check-in time, leave your phone number, then wait. You literally have to wait 2-4 hours per visit which is probably okay for a dog, but not for cats. I came in for a cat to get him tested for ringworm ($200, which is pretty expensive but within reasonable limits). I waited for over 2 hours with no notifications, then just decided to go home. I got a phone call asking me where I was, so I came back and waited a bit longer. After they did the checkup, (the doctor was great, extremely friendly and knowledgeable), they rushed me out while forgetting to charge me. I ended up running back inside since they were closing to tell them that they didn't charge me yet, so I paid then. The doctor told me that they'd call me back in 3 days to tell me the test results, but they ended up not calling back until I called them twice to ask for the results after roughly 2 weeks. Also, they make you wait outside while they're seeing your pet. So it's quite impersonal-- the doctor talks to you after. All in all, good vet. But the system for seeing customers could use a lot of work and the prices are quite expensive. My friend's cat got ringworm and he went to another vet nearby and they got it evaluated + treated for like $70. While this place cost $200 for testing alone. Also, my cat's ringworm pretty much resolved itself about 3~ days after the visit. read more

I've taken my pets here for the past 20 years. The staff have always been great. They've handled the deaths and cremations of 2 of my dogs. Always been about walk-ins. Lately it's gotten significantly busier, they've told me that people wait in lines from 6am until it opens to walk in. This is on weekends, but I asked about weekdays and I've been told it's just as busy. They're probably the victims of their own success.
