We brought our dog, Moonie, in after hearing some devastating news that she had pancreatitis and kidney failure. With such a serious diagnosis we wanted to make sure that we got a second opinion before looking into treatment options. The team at Orange Friendly Animal Hospital was so accommodating taking us in as a walk-in and walking us through all of her test results. We left feeling more informed about her condition and confident in our next steps. They broke down everything for us and made sure our baby was taken care of (even snapping some photos of her!). We ended hospitalizing her at this hospital and they went above and beyond to care for her even after they closed. They kept their doors open later to give us time to process our emotions and plan for our next steps after we found out she wasn't getting any better. They were kind enough to refer us to a 24/7 emergency clinic that could continue Moonie's hospitalization and stayed past their business hours to talk to that referral clinic on the phone about Moonie's condition. I've had two visits so far. Unfortunately our first visit, we had to say goodbye to our sweet little Benji. It was ultimately the hardest decision our family had to make. The staff and doctor showed great compassion and was extremely caring while we said goodbye. They let us take our time and explained everything to us in great detail. We cremated him and received his ashes is a beautiful urn in less than a week. Saying goodbye to your furry friend is never easy, but we found a place where we felt safe to leave him with and got the chance to say our final goodbyes. We were able to stay with him until the very end. I'm sure he's now in doggy heaven living his best life - sunbathing to his hearts content and getting all the scratches, and treats. Our second visit, Mochi had to come in because she jumped out of our parked car and landed head first in the pavement. We wanted to make sure she didn't have any concussion or serious injuries. We were able to be seen the same day. We didn't feel pressured to pay for any additional services. After meeting the doctor, he gave us some antibiotics because she was throwing up, but he didn't suspect it was due to the fall and had to do with something she probably ate. He said we could do x-rays if we wanted to, but wasn't pushing for it. We felt confident with the treatment plan and left. I unequivocally recommend this office - From the first phone call to check out and everything in between. The staff are friendly, patient, kind, helpful, welcoming and listen and explain everything. The facility is brand new, has amazing technology and a comfortable atmosphere. I never felt pressured into expensive procedures. I have often felt shamed by vets when I choose not to accept all of their suggestions, like I am a crappy animal owner because I choose not to have a 300 exploratory blood test. Additionally, my cat has an interesting genetic anomaly, which he continued to research and send information, well after my appointment. I like them. I have another vet a little further away but I saw this spot being built and was very curious so I took them up on their $27/ first exam for new patients offer. The doctor got on Einstein's level, very knowledgeable of Stein's symptoms and had a few options for what he recommended was the best course of treatment. He mentioned we could try some of the antibiotics as like a trial run and if it didn't workout, we could try something else. The rooms are very clean, I like that they have marble benches to sit on, it's not the gross cushion ones you're scared of what might have happened to them in the past. No bleach or urine smell. If I could give this wonderful place 10 stars, I would! Unfortunately, Yelp only allows me to give them 5. About a month ago, I noticed a lump on my dog. I kept a close eye on it, but she eventually started biting at it, causing a small puncture. I put a donut collar on her to keep her from chewing on it, hoping it would heal on its own, but unfortunately it didn't. I first called two other veterinary clinics to schedule an appointment. One told me I would have to wait a week, and the other didn't have any available appointments. They referred me to an animal hospital that was closed on weekends. I searched Yelp for a place I could trust to take care of my girl, and I'm so grateful I found Orange Friendly Animal Hospital. They were able to see her the same day I called, and one of the things I really appreciated is that they're open until 8:00 p.m. and are also open on weekends. One thing that surprised me was that I could send a picture of my dog's wound to one of their team members. Dr. Nguyen reviewed the photo, personally called me to share his observations, and explained the options. That level of care and communication gave me so much peace of mind. The care my senior dachshund received for his dental extractions was exceptional. They were able to fit his surgery in right away because he was sadly in pain. His pre surgery bloodwork revealed some risks, because of his anemia, he was a high-risk procedure, but Dr. Nguyen and the staff were highly capable, calm, and reassuring. I specifically want to thank Cindy, Wendy, and Rebecca for being so patient, attentive, and gentle with him throughout a stressful day. Wow, where do I even begin? I think I can speak for all pet parents that finding great care for your pet can be hard to come by. Let me tell you a little bit about my beloved dog, Bean. You see Bean was a rescue and had a rough upbringing until he was rescued from the shelter. Bean was misunderstood. He loved affection but not too much because he'll growl, he was curious about other animals but didn't like him in his space, he loved his groomer and old vet as people but not when they were doing their job. I called one evening because Bean and I were playing when he jumped, landed and let out a cry. After that, Bean was unable to get up at all. Due to the distance, I went to somewhere local to me desperately searching for help and it was the worst experience for Bean and I (wrote a separate review if you want to take a read). I was referred by my great friend to check out Dr. Johnny and I am extremely grateful she did. From the moment I called to even make Bean's appointment, I was spoken to in an empathetic voice that helped calm my nerves. When I mentioned that Bean could be aggressive, there was no judgement like the old vet that I had gone to. This is a beautiful place, extremely modern and clean. The day of the appointment, from the moment I arrived, I knew Bean would be in great hands. Janelle greeted us and took care of us throughout our visits to the vet. When Dr. Johnny came, he literally sat on the floor to gain Bean's trust and petted him until he was a little more comfortable. You can see that this doctor LOVES his job! He was incredibly patient with Bean and it warmed my heart because I knew he was scared. Dr. Johnny kept things straight, no sugar coating but in a manner that was compassionate. He explained things to me so even a dummy could understand. As Dr. Johnny spoke, I started to tear and with no hesitation, comforted me and grabbed the tissue box and listed the options that we had. Unfortunately Bean's torn ACL were the least of our worries as he had other issues that came up during his X-ray. What I appreciated about this place is that there was no pressure to do this procedure, get this medication, this that and the third since things can become pretty pricey. I ended up going home with medicine to help with Bean's pain. For an entire week, I thought about what to do until I decided it was in Bean's best interest to let him go. Making the call to make an appointment felt like my heart was being ripped out of my chest. I called and couldn't even get the words out, literally. I was choking in tears and the woman on the other end was comforting through the phone. The day of his appointment, Janelle was the one who took care of us. We went inside the room and did not rush me AT ALL to say goodbye to Bean. I want to say I was there close to two hours and not once did I feel like I had to leave soon. Janelle and Dr. Johnny explained what was going to take place as I tried to prepare for what was about to happen. Before Dr. Johnny got started, he reminded me that I was doing the right thing. If you are reading this, you have no idea what that felt like to hear that from a professional. I was beating myself up for days thinking if this was the right call for Bean. After Bean crossed the bridge, Dr. Johnny closed the door behind me and reminded me to take as much time as I would like. Time stood still but I finally got up from the floor and asked Janelle if I could get scissors to cut his fur from his paw to get a pawprint. Janelle ended up coming back with his curly fur that was shaved for the catheter and helped me clip his paw. As she was doing it, we briefly had a conversation about Bean. She doesn't know it but that meant the world to me. As I left the room, I felt a sense of peace. Bean was no longer in pain and he was in excellent hands here. I'm choking up writing about this because if Bean could talk, I think he would say thank you for taking care of him but also taking care of his mama. You all went above and beyond. I had high hopes but when I went in for our appointment everything they'd told me on the phone was a lie just to get us in and all of a sudden they had all kinds of hidden charges and fees which was a complete scam.
