We went here with our daughter and grandson for dinner. We had a Very Delicious meal. The wife and daughter and I had very good drinks. There is a lot of places that Can't make a Long Island Iced Tea drink or they use booze that's not Top Shelf and you can tell. Mine was Perfect and so was the wife and daughters. I reviewed the drinks first because they came first Now the main course. Although they are a little spicy it Doesn't linger with you. Had dinner here 6/16/25 and used to be a favorite place. Have your recipe's changed? I had the combo dinner w/enchilada - ground beef had a strange flavor and quesadilla - steak tips were tough w/ old flavor. My husband had the burrito - chicken was good but he thought the ground beef was weird too. Margarita was good and our server Tanner was excellent. And my beans were red instead of brown and were strange flavor. Not happy with our choices that night at all. Maybe you better check out the kitchen. Best Mexican food I've ever had. There's a wonderful woman who serves us every time we come in and she's the sweetest ever. Fresh, cheerful, colorful atmosphere, and the owners/ servers are all about service! We enjoy the different HUGE salads, and a fun margarita to wash it down! I stopped in here for lunch when I was on a work trip in Greenville, PA in March. The place was dead as I was the only customer. Not a great sign. Inside was nice looking. Chips and salsa was good. I was surprised they didn't have fajitas on the lunch menu, so I had to get a dinner portion. I ordered the chicken fajitas. The food came quickly and looked standard but was overall bland in taste in addition to being overpriced. The waitress was nice, but attentiveness varied. Left feeling "meh." read more

Haven't eaten here in a few years, a few days ago I decided to because of the remodel. I'm assuming new ownership but I'm not sure, but what I do know is the food is great now. Great new look after remodel. Service was great. My wife had pick your own enchilada platter and said it was great. I had fajitas with steak and shrimp. Great food! The enchiladas were tasty and would definitely come back for more. The lunch menu was a little limited but the complimentary chips and salsa made it better. our waitress was on her phone the whole time. she had her earbuds in and they touched our chips when she brought our food. She forgot our sour cream 2 times. And the food was kinda bland. I have visited Compadres twice and have been very happy after both visits. The chips and salsa to start are great and we've added guac and queso on both visits which were good. The queso is on the thinner/milder side, but that is a matter of personal preference. Drinks were good and were refilled frequently, I recommend the Corona-rita! The entrees were also great and the service was fast, despite it being a busy night. Not only were the entrees good and large portions (I loved my carne asada tacos), but the sides of rice and beans are also tasty and not bland or dried out. Overall, this is a great mexican restaurant and I've never had a complaint in my visits. read more

Found this place while in Greenville today. It's off the main road about a block. Nice little restaurant/bar. Greeted and seated quickly and served warm chips & salsa. Ordered the beef chimichanga ( oh the yummy melted cheese on top)! and steak fajita burrito. Both came with rice and beans. The waitress, Whitley was awesome! She was very attentive to our needs and made sure we enjoyed of meals, which were filling and good. read more

This place is a real hidden gem. A very authentic Mexican restaurant tucked away on an outside corner of Greenville. The margaritas are what brought us in (and because we pass it every time we drive up to our Jamestown cottage from Pittsburgh). We had the ones that come with a Coronita tipped into it. Mine was an original on the rocks which was rather 'limey' and my wife's was a frozen strawberry/original combination. Hers was delicious. They were $10 each but that's what we would pay in Pittsburgh so it wasn't a surprise. The food coming out of the kitchen looked delicious and the bartender & waitresses all said they love to eat there. I never trust a place where the staff won't eat there. I'd had a bad experience here, twice, several years ago and vowed never to return. However they were one of the few restaurants open on a Monday night, so I gave in and gave them another chance. I was glad I did because this time it was a very enjoyable meal. The service was excellent, and my Carnitas Tapatias were tender and flavorful. As far as small town Mexican restaurants go, this is the best around. It's always fairly busy, and is perfect for a small family meal, or a larger group of people hanging out. Their food and drinks are always delicious, no matter what you get. It's fairly average in price, and their min entrees are always huge. This is a great place to go when you want some variety in your food, and want a fun place to go to with friends, coworkers, etc. read more

Not a fan. The new look is a nice touch but the food is not that good. I would rather drive to hermitage or niles for better Mexican food.
