As a former restaurant worker and someone very knowledgeable in the food preparation for catered events, this was THE ABSOLUTE WORSE catered event or restaurant meal that I have ever had the displeasure of having. The meals ( steak and fish ) were overcooked, cold and served with a sad display of side dishes. The service was mediocre at best; many guests were served after others had finished ( or should I say..attempted to finish the horrible meals ). BEWARE !!! The reviews show favorable reviews, but thay are all from many years ago. In my professional opinion, the chef / owners have changed and/or something went wrong. Honestly, the meals tasted like they were prepare dmuch earlier in the day ( or the day before ) and heated in a microwave . This was not what the website describes nor what the tasting was like. ALL of the guests that I spoke with were in agreement. The bride and groom as well as their immediate families were very unhappy. Beyond creating an incredibly bespoke and personal menu for us (with plenty of GF and veggie options!) Sally was instrumental to the process. She helped us book all of our rentals (tent, flatware, plates, tables, etc) and she was always there for advice and to offer suggestions based on her experience. She met with us at PEAK to pick out our tableware, she gave us great suggestions for anything else we needed to rent, coordinated all the setup both on Friday and our actual wedding day, and was so prompt in her replies via email or phone. We could not have pulled it off without her expertise! We would have ended up spending a lot more money overall if we didn't have her guidance. And of course the food was amazing. I loved the fact that it was all local and in-season! Sustainability was very important when picking our vendors, so I appreciated the attention to detail, the composting, and support of local farmers and growers. Plus we got to take home the leftovers! When we open the containers with the boil the bags contained one small potato, one tiny onion and a 1" long piece of sausage. You would think for $70/pp CC would have provided a sterling meal but instead decided to provide far less to maximize profit. To be fair there was a fair amount of clams and the lobster was a cull. We also ordered clam chowder and their version which contains celery was not very popular with most the guests resulting in much of it being thrown away. This is key because Sara Livingston Oliveira of Compton Clambakes, even though she was dealing with a set of divorced parents from two locations, never let this seem like it created any issues. Throughout planning she was gracious, efficient, and over the top helpful. Even changes made at the last minute were dealt with by her usual aplomb. So that was the planning.... flawless. For the actual event every bit of her professionalism set the stage for a wonderful and flawless celebration. Jason and the rest of their crew were there, invisibly, at every turn.
