Hours before our Uluru tour, they changed our small group tour up to 8 people to a crowded bus with 65 people completely ruining the experience we paid for. Once we arrived, the company was virtually impossible to reach. Roslyn, who sold me the trip, never responded to my concerns, and Melanie took nearly a week to reply. For $34,000, all we got were flights, two hotels, and overcrowded, unguided group tours. To make matters worse, I had to pay out of pocket for hotels in Sydney and Melbourne, private tours, and some transportation. When I tried to resolve these issues, they first refunded me just $46. After repeated emails, they offered $2,700, claiming that was all they had paid, despite charging me $34,000. After more than six months of efforts to resolve this matter, I decided to consider accepting the $2,700 offer in an effort to bring the issue to a conclusion, although I did not believe the amount adequately reflected the extent of my concerns. However, they wanted me to sign an agreement that would have restricted my ability to publicly share my experience or provide future feedback about the company. Because I was not willing to agree to those terms, I chose not to accept the offer. I filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the Texas Attorney General's Office . I believe other travelers deserve to know what happened. My advice: get multiple quotes, demand a full breakdown of what you're paying for, and never accept vague pricing. Check Reddit to see what others are saying. After your trip, if your review doesn't appear, contact Shopper Approved and ask them for a new link, because your feedback might mysteriously disappear. I can't get my dream vacation back, but I hope this saves someone else from losing tens of thousands.

I had a physically challenging tour in the Rainforest but the guide kept me with him to help me in the "dodgy" places. We were busy almost every day and still had free time to explore on our own. Three different agnecies became involved in this tour, which was never mentioned or documented. The third party agency wedding coordinator set the date a month early then wanted to charge and additional $200 to secure another date, which was already paid for in an all inclusive upgrade. Needless to say we went on a tour that was non-refundable at that point only to go hang out with all the other couples celebrating what we were supposed to be celebrating without a ceremony. Don't be fooled into spending over two thousand more dollars for what you could get all inclusive without; when it comes to dealing with this agent. As a dog friendly hotel that advertised a dog park I was left confused, embarrassed and triggered. There were many witnesses to this interaction and when I let Marcela know that the large group I booked to stay in this very hotel would never patronize this establishment again, she smiled and said ok! I spoke with the manager on duty upon my departure who acknowledged she could use more training. I will never book our organization here again.

Yeah... that's how I ended up on the Yellow Rose Carriage Company. Now I'll say this San Antonio surprised me. Clean, inviting, and every kind of food you can think of just sittin' there temptin' you steaks, tacos, Italian... like the city's saying, "Go ahead, ruin your diet, we ain't judging." It's got a charm to it. After a couple drinks, I'm thinking, "This is like Central Park... if it had better food and a little more Texas attitude." So naturally... I said, "Giddy up." We climb into this carriage, and I don't remember the horse's name, so let's call him Mr. Ed. Now Mr. Ed? He wasn't taking suggestions. That horse had a personal agenda. The driver nice guy looked like he was in a long-term negotiation with an animal that had already made up its mind. At one point, somebody honks... and Mr. Ed just lifts his tail and fires off a warning shot like, "That's what I think about your traffic laws." They got a bucket for that... allegedly. Didn't catch everything. I laughed so hard I nearly fell outta the carriage. But here's the twist once you get past the fact your Uber has a digestive system... it's actually kind of perfect. The lights come on, the city softens up, and you're rolling through San Antonio like you accidentally wandered into a movie. It's romantic, it's calm, it's got that slow, easy rhythm where nobody's in a hurry and everything just feels right. Then because alcohol makes athletes out of all of us another couple pulls up beside us in their carriage. Next thing you know, we've got ourselves a good old-fashioned horse race. Friendly... mostly. A little cash gets slipped to the driver, someone mentions YouTube glory, and suddenly Mr. Ed's out here competing like he's got a sponsorship deal. We're laughing, they're laughing, horses are doing whatever horses do... and for a minute, it's not about getting anywhere it's just about being right there in it. And that's the thing. You'll look at the price and think, "Is this worth it?" And later, you'll look back and go, "Yeah... I'd do that again." Because sometimes the best memories come with a little chaos... ...and a horse that absolutely does not care about your plans.
