I've had a very frustrating experience renting a parking space here. I was originally told the…read moreprice would be $87 because we needed a 30-foot space, but the spaces are not actually the sizes they are advertised to be. I was later told the rate would be changed to $97 because that was the price listed on the Neighbor website. I even went into the office and spoke with an employee who said a price-change request had been submitted, but the price still has not been corrected. We were also told that if we ever needed access to our vehicle after the 10:00 p.m. gate closing time someone would be able to open the gate for us. When we actually called after hours, we were told no and that the employee who gave us that information had lied and that you can't even do a 24 hours access. That is completely unacceptable. A vehicle may be needed at any time in an emergency, and customers should be given accurate information before renting. Between the incorrect pricing, inaccurate space dimensions, and misleading information about vehicle access, this feels like false advertising and a deceptive way of doing business. I would not have rented here if the policies had been explained honestly from the beginning.

I just rented my space, so I can't say how things are long term. However, Geoff, the store manager…read morestayed an hour after closing to work out my lease terms, show me the unit, and answer my questions. I appreciate that. This location is VERY clean, since it's pretty new. It even smells clean, but not like cleaning products and chemicals. There is even a bathroom available to use any time during access hours.....because you never know. You can open the gate and doors with the app or manually punch in the code. They have carts available to haul your boxes to your unit.....but....you might have to hunt them down. There wasn't one near my door. Luckily I had my dolly with me. But the cart would have been MUCH faster. I have my own cart, but didn't bring it, thinking I could just use theirs. It sucks to have to go FIND one....only to realize, some doors have two over there and the other door has none. Other than that, my unit is climate controlled and it feels nice and cool in there on a summer day. I DO wish there was 24/7 access. There should be for the price we pay. Also, the lights go off like every 10 min (or less), so if it's dark, you have to go back to the motion light outside your unit so it turns back on. I absolutely HATE corporate greed and limiting access and lighting is absolutely corporate greed. It would be nice if they'd do better, but....that's not gonna happen. It's all about the money....who cares about inconvenience for the paying customers. SMH. I'm supposed to get a refund for the insurance I declined, since I already have my own, but I don't see WHY they have to charge it ANYWAY and THEN supposedly refund it. Why not just NOT charge it??? They really like to hang on to as MUCH of your money as possible. Then I have to keep checking to make sure I get the refund. Corporate greed. Anyway....Kaethe and Geoff seem nice and the place is extremely clean.

Unfortunately, their corporate office does not support them well, as they increased my rent by 65% from $155 to $255 just 4 months after moving a massive amount of stuff into a 10x30 unit. What criminals the corporate office is to lure people in with a lower price and then once they have your stuff in there and know it will be costly for you to move it, they jack up your rent by 65%! This is really not fair or ok. Edit: After seeing Extra Storage's response, I called in as requested and was able to lower to $215. The nice customer service representative said that the district manager will further review and hopefully bring down further to the rate I originally signed up for 4 months ago. Avoid this place…read more They have signs posted that advertise the first month is free. Of course they came up with a reason that I was not eligible, so I had to pay for the first month. I was forced to pay an additional fee for their insurance, even though my property is already insured. Two to three weeks after I signed up, I noticed that they were offering spaces similar to mine for about $70/month less than I was paying. When I asked them about this, they basically said I was SOL. They have bushes at the entrance that block your view of oncoming traffic. When I pulled out and almost got hit by a car, I notified the manager and asked her to have the bushes cut back for safety reasons. She assured me that she would have it taken care of, but it's been about six weeks and it's still overgrown and unsafe. You will not have 24-hour access to your storage unit. The manager lives there and she does not want to be bothered between 10pm and 6am. I'm looking forward to moving my stuff to another storage facility. I was told that I must give at least 15 days notice to avoid paying the next month's rent.

They advertise one month free, but after a year they will go up almost $50 and increase your rate and continue to every year. I've been renting from Extra Space of almost 2 1/2 years now and my rent has gone up significantly since I've been with them. Just recent, I received a letter stating that next month my rent was being increased. It's being increased $75.00. They didn't sent a courtesy letter or anything. I haven't called yet, but plan too to see why the increase. The economy has taken a huge hit as well as people losing their jobs and this is what Extra Space Storage does. If I'm not mistaken, when the pandemic was going on, they raised the rent again.
