BEWARE!!!!! The people here are very nice. Unfortunately, their corporate office does not support them well, as they increased my rent by 65% from $155 to $255 just 4 months after moving a massive amount of stuff into a 10x30 unit. What criminals the corporate office is to lure people in with a lower price and then once they have your stuff in there and know it will be costly for you to move it, they jack up your rent by 65%! This is really not fair or ok. Edit: After seeing Extra Storage's response, I called in as requested and was able to lower to $215. The nice customer service representative said that the district manager will further review and hopefully bring down further to the rate I originally signed up for 4 months ago. I appreciate this effort so wanted to make sure and acknowledge that publicly. read more

When we moved into our storage unit on 12/21, we realized there was a leak. We alerted the person on duty and she said we can have another unit, but we had to pay to move everything out of the unit. We already paid movers for 3 hours to move everything in. The next option was to have someone come and fix the leak. 2 1/2 weeks later it hasn't been fixed. Every time I call they act like they know the situation, tell me they will look into it and that they will call me back that day. After 4 phone calls, I haven't received one phone call back. We have been loyal customers to this facility for 6 years. I'm very disappointed in the customer service that I've received the last few weeks. DO BETTER EXTRA SPACE!!! read more

I was in a situation and Shane assisted us in our needs. I called several storage facilities, but ended up going with Shane. He was attentive to our needs, explained everything in detail, and he did not rush us. He treated us with the utmost respect. We arrived at storage a couple minutes after closing, but I called and he said he would wait on us. To make the situation worse we did not have enough money, and he waited for us to go to the ATM. Shane was extremely patient, even though he was still working way after his shift. All I have to say is that he exceeded our expectations and went above and beyond. Facilities are as described. Mostly friendly people. One MAJOR disappointment: they refuse to refund overpayments. I stored for over two years, and they owe me money. I was told that this is a condition that I agreed to and that I should have let the know before ending service, but it is my money, and it is a dishonest practice. I'll bet there are others, and I would be willing to join a class action suit if anyone is interested. read more

I found Extra Space Storage online and called the 800# to make a reservation through their customer service department. Within a short time of making my reservation, Shane contacted me to let me know that he had my unit and would make certain he was available to meet with me when I arrived. Shane took plenty of time to show me around and to thoroughly explain the terms of the agreement, the insurance, etc. We are storing all of our belongings until we find our new home out west and I wasn't sure how much storage we would need. In addition to the unit I reserved, Shane held an additional unit until we knew wether or not we needed the unit. On moving day, Shane made sure he was available when the movers arrived and jumped into action to get the extra unit as soon as it was determined the space was needed. He couldn't have been more helpful. Shane is thorough, polite, helpful and goes above and beyond to get the job done. Thank you Shane for making an otherwise stressful situation easier! read more
