I'm updating my review with my experience now that I've used this company for close to 2 years. Recently found out that I need to replace my filter due to Competitive Pool Service never properly caring for or cleaning it as agreed. The day I took the attached picture I asked Gustavo if/when the filters were cleaned last and he said his employee did it 2-3 months ago. The picture, my home warranty company and another pool company all tell me these are filters that have not been cleaned in over a year. This company hasn't taken any responsibility or offered any kind of resolution for the damage they caused and in fact they just stopped answering text messages or showing up. It seems like Gustavo takes the monthly payments and provides the bare minimum service. He placed blame on his employee saying he should know since it's assigned to him. This is disappointing especially since I always prefer to support small local businesses. I do not recommend using this company at all. read more

I live in California and my elderly parents live in Las Vegas. I've had a hell of a time trying to find a good reliable and honest pool service. The first ones did a crap job and green pool and the next was an absolute horror. The service guy tried to scam my mother and when she didn't pay he stole the pool pump. The owners couldn't care the slightest that my parents got robbed by their employee they didn't help replace the pump and wanted to charge me $200 to instal the new pump ($1800). They also said they had no info at all about the employee. Not even a last name! I called many other services and my only requirement was I needed to know who was coming on the property. That was just to much hassle for every other pool service that I called with exception of Gustavo at Competitive Pool Service. Super nice guys and he had no problem with my requirement. They bid my job at 900 bucks, 400 dollars more than 3 other estimates I received. Since the job took about 90 minutes that's a pretty high hourly rate. They may do great work, but at that price I will never know. Perhaps they didn't want the job and just threw out a high number to chase me away. If so, mission accomplished. Competitive?
