Over 10 years ago I went in for a toothache. They extracted it and wanted to pull all of my teeth and sell me a full set of dentures. I never even saw the dentist, he spoke from the doorway behind me. To this day I have no idea who it was because the name on a follow up note was not the dentist I thought my appt. was with. The absence of bed side manner, their attitude, speaking to me as if I was dumb child made me not return. Worst of all my teeth continued to serve me well in the more than 10 years since. I have lost few more teeth and am now preparing to get a partial. A partial! I had my cleaning appointment today with Jackie and Dr Chambless. Once again I was extremely pleased. I commented when I got there it was a little cool. Jackie immediately got me a comfy blanket. After the cleaning Dr Chambless came in and said everything looked fine. I have a couple of crowns to do whenever the tooth starts bothering me. My fillings are so old that after that much age they crack. They have never pushed anything, my first visit it had been 3 years since I had been to the dentist. I had just taken out BCBS. The dentist I saw that day (and I loved him, he ended up being sent to Decatur). He explained I had some work that needed to be done but nothing urgent and we should wait until the insurance would cover it. He told me today if I needed anything to just let them know. read more

To echo what Brooke D. said, this place rocks. It doesn't have that doctor's office feel, which is a big relief. No crappy artwork, no easy-listening music coming from in-ceiling speakers. What you get in the waiting room here is free wifi and some comfy leather chairs. There is even a wall-mounted flat-panel TV! But you're not here for the waiting room... The hygienist I had, Ashley, was great! She made fun conversation while scraping away at my teeth, making it a very pleasant experience. The dentist, Dr. Tyson, stopped in for a few minutes to introduce himself and talk over my x-rays, etc., typical dentist stuff. Very nice guy, explained things well, and, most importantly, gave me the good news of not having any cavities. This is a high-tech, fast moving, contemporary dentists office. Every time I go it seems like they've updated the decor, gotten a new computer system, or bought the newest piece of equipment in dentistry. Compared to the dentist I grew up with, where things NEVER changed, I can really appreciate how things are run here. Most recently they updated the computer systems to allow customers to make appointments online, send an email to ask a question, and they can now text you to remind you of your appointment or tell you that you're due for one. I've never had a bad experience with a hygienist; they are very gentle and sweet (and FAST). When I had to have a wisdom tooth pulled they did an incredible job. All I felt was pressure (no pain!) and the hygienist held my hand and coached me through the whole thing while the dentist did his thing. If I ever have to wait in the waiting room it's never long and they are always apologetic if you've been waiting. Oh and I almost forgot, they're open from 7am-7pm. read more

I arrived at this dentist on 9/9/21. After a checkup, they surprised me with a treatment plan of work totaling $6200 including deep root cleaning. I had dental insurance but of course this work was not covered. And to add insult to injury, I was charged an extra $40 for dental insurance deductible. I got a second opinion and didn't have to pay a deductible and didn't need 3/4 of the work they proposed! Additionally, I didn't need any deep root cleaning and the cleaning provided was so poorly done that I have to get my teeth cleaned again! If you are dental-phobic... if you have problems getting numb... if you need to be asleep for a dental procedure - This place is for you! STOP reading now if dentist visits are the highlight of your year. I have a tough time at the dentist office. I don't numb easily, gas has only worked on me one time and before finding this office another dentist (who will remain unidentified) tried to numb my mouth 6 SIX times ... with that huge dental needle ... before sending me to a specialist ... who then stuck me 3 more times trying to numb me. Fast forward to Complete Dental. I called for an initial appointment and was biding my time until that day when I got an abscess. I called to see if they could squeeze me in and they did... the very next day. After assessing my dire situation they scheduled me for surgery the very next day. Once I'd healed from that ordeal I went back to Complete Dental for the work I'd originally wanted to get done before the abscess. The staff was very understanding of my dental-phobia and they were VERY patient with me. They were able to provide the level of numbing (complete sedation) I need for dental work and walked me thoroughly through the process. I was very pleased to be scheduled for a pre-op DAYS before my procedure... that way I could get my medication and sign all paperwork while fully functional. (There's nothing like going to a pharmacy AFTER a procedure and w.a.I.t.i.n.g. to get your pain meds) I have very little recollection of the day of my procedure. Once I took my pre-surgery medicine at home ... it's all a blur until I came home again. When it came time for my biannual cleaning, I googled "dentists in Madison AL" and stumbled upon Complete Dental. I called and had no problem making an appointment for the following week. The dental hygienist was personable, but not too chatty (because who can really carry a conversation during getting your teeth cleaned?). The dentist himself is really nice and actually takes time with you to answer any questions and check over your teeth. The office staff is very nice but I had some dentistry work a bridge out in. The dentist that performed thus almost killed me. I know he had to pull 2 teeth but it hurt so bad and he seemed to not care . He not once asked if I was ok during all this and of course took several trips to get this done. The best in Northern Alabama! Dr. Chambless did veneers for me and implants (removable) for my husband. The offices are beautiful, the staff is caring and compassionate. The best part was is we were never referred out to a non-network endodontist or oral surgeon. This place chipped one of my teeth by dropping a tool into my mouth. Another appointment my tongue was cut, and needed stitches during a routine filling. I will NEVER go back to compete dental. Now I go to Precious Smiles Family Dentistry. The staff at Precious Smiles are so nice, and the dentist is the best dentist I've ever gone too. She is always asking if you are okay. read more

I can't say enough about how wonderful this office is! I woke up Saturday morning with a terrible pain. I have a regular dentist but he was out of town, and it was a Saturday, so I called Complete Dental after seeing they were open. Not only did they work me in within an hour of my call, the people who work there were some of the nicest staff I have ever dealt with. The office was definitely designed with patient comfort in mind and everyone I came into contact with was so kind and helpful. I broke a tooth at dinner last night, by biting down on something ??? in my fajitas. I called Complete Dental first thing this morning, at 7am and they were able to see me at 8:30am. Dr. Chambless was awesome! He had my tooth repaired in less than 30 minutes & now it feels & looks great! No pain! No more chipped tooth! You can't even tell it was chipped! I was treated like an inconvenience. The assistant wasn't familiar with the "new" x-ray equipment. When she asked for help she was treated like a bother by her fellow employee. I was quoted a price of several thousand dollars out of pocket, I do have insurance and I do need quite a bit of work done, but after changing jobs and going to a different dentist over a year later they did not want to perform half as much work. Now I do have a different insurance company with my new employer, but still the old insurance company was blue cross and the new company is Guardian and Complete Dental wanted 5400.00 out of pocket. Today the Dentist would be able complete all my needed work for less than 1000.00 out of pocket? And that is not the half of it! read more

Every staff member was super friendly and very professional. The hygienist made sure I was comfortable throughout the cleaning. I was able to view my xrays and get every single question and concern addressed with no problem. They also have TVs in each room. So if you're nervous you can be distracted. I've also experienced other dentists who want to add on extra unnecessary services, and I did not experience that here. They're great. I was in a tough spot and needed help with my son that chipped his tooth and was in a wedding the next day. The receptionist basically told me "I could care less" on the phone we are booked. I asked if she would take my name and number and she did but certainly didn't want to. You don't have to care but at least act like you do. I'll never go back or recommend them to anyone. read more

I sent my son here because he felt he had a cavity even though he had no pain. He came home with a $2900 estimate for 6 cavities and 2 crowns (because the cavities were so large). We got a second opinion, which differed greatly, so then opted for a third opinion. Both the second and third opinions stated the cavities were no where near large enough to need crowns. As a matter of fact, two cavities Complete Dental marked as being so were only shadowing on the x-rays. They did completely miss another cavity. Cost after getting second and third opinions: $1090. Huge difference! I'm not impressed with Complete Dental and I will spread the word to hopefully help someone else avoiding potentially getting ripped off. read more

These dentist have one thing in mind gouging you for all the money they can. They pressure you to get x-rays every 6 months weather you have any problems or not. I have never had a cavity in my life, and never needed work. I was told that the x-rays worried the dentist and he tried to scare me into getting over 2800 dollars worth of work. I went to my old childhood dentist, and was told that I needed none of the work they had tried to pressure me into getting. I would strongly suggest you find a different dentist, unless you like the feeling of dealing with a sleazy used car salesman that uses scare tactics to try and force you to spend money you dont need to. read more

They do good work but are way too expensive. They always want a lot of money up front, even if you have insurance. That's because they know your insurance has price limits on each procedure and their price is usually 50 to 80 percent over what your insurance will allow. Also they don't explain what you need very well and they will perform and charge for unnecessary procedures. They just assume you want it. It's easy to see for them its all about money. read more

Complete Dental has had its ups and downs for me and my family. Our first visit, we waited over an hour because the receptionist confused us with another patient. Another time I specifically requested a 7:00 appt. so my son wouldn't miss school andI was told those were reserved for working adults. Then I was told that we could be seen at 7:30 am. We arrived early for appt. but my son was not called back until almost 8. The drs. "were watching" a small cavity in his mouth but assured me it wouldn't be necessary to fill it. I was leaning toward filling it before it got larger. It did indeed get much larger (below the surface) and required a much larger filling than it would have originally. Most vexing, we were referred to Complete Dental office in Huntsville to be seen more expediently and afterwards was informed that that particular dentist didn't take BCBS so I would be paying the full cost of the procedure. What? When I scheduled a dental cleaning for myself (Madison office) I was told that I had gum disease and that my scheduled cleaning was cancelled and they were scheduling me an appt. with a periodontist. However, they did charge my insurance for an office visit. The only reason they are getting two stars is that the hygienist was always great with my son and a friend's daughter had a very good experience with them regarding gum repair. read more

I will never go back to them. I went in for an extraction for one tooth but they took it upon themselves to take about 20 x-rays of all the other teeth but I was not there for all the other teeth. 30 minutes was spent just doing that. Then when it finally came time to extract the tooth I needed removed, they quoted me $272 and that included a $39 office visit. Then they told me "they couldn't do it right now because he had two other things to do". Then why was I even there? Why waste all that time doing x-rays on the other side of my mouth? All they had to do was X-ray that one tooth that I wanted out and pull it. Might have taken 15 minutes and I would have been out of there. Now I am still with a toothache and out $39 for nothing. The extraction price was going to be paid in cash money. That wasn't the problem. I would have paid it but all of a sudden, they don't have time now.
