We have a miniscule backyard and limited time, so we wanted to find an organization that would make compostable feasible with our busy lifestyle. We found this organization through a neighbor, and we signed up through their website. Within a week, they had gotten back to us about scheduled pick-up times, pricing, and dropped off a bin to start our composting journey. Compost Nashville is incredibly consistent. Without fail, I get a text every Sunday evening that an employee will come by to pick up our compost bin Monday morning. As previous reviewers have noted, the staff at Compost Nashville are more timely, courteous, and efficient than our bi-weekly garbage pick-up. They always arrive promptly with a clean bin for the week. I really appreciate how they give you a magnet of all compostable and non-compostable items for reference. It's doubly nice considering our compost bin is in our kitchen, so I can do a quick glance up at the magnet to ensure whatever scraps I'm dropping in are actually compostable. Compost Nashville makes composting so easy. They are more reliable than both my garbage or recycling pickup. Every Tuesday they swing by, pick up my compost bin, and leave me a brand new one. Its that easy. We keep our little bin in the kitchen for all our food waste. The bin secures tight so we never smell a thing. Twice a year we get compost for our little flower garden. We usually donate our 2nd compost of the year, which means they donate your share to a local community garden. This company could not be any more wholesome. read more

Just finished my first year with Compost Nashville and I couldn't be more pleased. Over the years I have done my own worm composting and regular composting. While I am excited and enthusiastic initially, it quickly becomes overwhelming and I am over it... Enter Compost Nashville. I got this lovely little green bin with a plastic liner. Every Tuesday I get a nice little text reminder saying there will be a pick up curb side and to put my bin out. During the day it is emptied with the bag taken out and a new plastic bag placed. It is amazing what I can put in there, packing it nice and tight. From egg shells, all leftover food and meat, toilet paper and paper towel rolls, paper egg cartons, coffee grounds, etc etc. And, during the fall, pumpkins can be place atop of the bin and picked up as well. The $35 fee is totally worth it; f you have ever done your own composting you know. And an exciting bonus?? Twice a year you get a nice sized bag of their homemade compost! read more

I'm so glad I came upon this service! I would love to be able to do my own composting, but until then, this is the way to go! Never a missed pickup, the bin stays odor-free, and the price is really reasonable. I probably should add another bin. Compost Nashville's service to me for the past 2+ years has been excellent, from sending me email reminders the day before pickup and then always picking up the green bucket on schedule. The weekly new buckets are clean like new. I keep my bucket in the kitchen. The tight fitting lid means no unpleasant odor. If I have a question relating to composting, the CN staff sends an email response within 24 hours. I put a variety of stuff into the green bucket -- all vegetable and animal food scraps, cut-up popcorn bags and pizza boxes, any paper product with grease spots that I can't put in regular paper recycling, etc. If the bucket is not full on pickup day, I stuff it with garden debris, such as dry leaves, hedge trimmings, etc. I also have signed up for the free compost bag giveaways, so some of what I turn in to CN comes back to me in rich garden compost. Previous to Compost Nashville, I tried three other composting methods in my backyard without success. Due to environmental concerns, I am deeply committed to composting, and Compost Nashville has met my composting goal. Easy breezy. read more
