I started seeing her because I was dealing…read morewith a great amount of anxiety and depression as well as in a car accident that caused PTSD. In the beginning, I thought she was excellent. She was giving me homework and action items. We weren't just talking about what was going on, we were making plans on how to help. I began to realize, however, this was a never-ending cycle. We made plans and then she didn't follow up on those plans to see if I took action. She was more often than not 30 minutes or more late for our sessions. She was full of resources, but lacked the structure to make sure that I, the patient who needed guidance, was following through. I continued to struggle with my PTSD. My anxiety was unchecked and I would lapse into depression frequently. She talked about other clients to me. Her children and significant other knew about me and my emotional support dog. Those two facts always bothered me because it felt like a breach of doctor/patient confidentiality. I decided to find another therapist. I didn't choose the best way of switching. I gave no warning, but confrontation was something that I needed to work on. I was completely blindsided by the lack of support and professionalism I received from Terri after switching to a new therapist. She refused to take my calls, the calls of my attorney's office, and refused all other forms of communication, preventing us from gathering all required documentation for my insurance hearing. Even if I had wanted to return to her, my opinion of her would have been too sullied by her response to my leaving in the first place. I have switched therapist's before and was never treated with such pettiness. TL/DR - Terri (TD Counseling) will keep you in a constant planning cycle, never to follow through. She is petty and talks about her patients to other patients (even introduces you to each other on occasion). She refused to work with my attorney's office for an insurance claim after I switched therapists.
