He arrived for his appointment, went up to the front desk and the women at the front desk just stared at him. There was no "hello, how are you", or "how can I help you." He finally said I have an appointment. She coldly asked for his name and then told him he's not on the schedule. Told him she could get him in 1 month later. There was no "I'm sorry" or anything even remoting kind. When I called to inquire about what happened to his appointment, the same girl answered the phone and was just as cold and rude. It is very obvious she does not like her job, does not give a shit about the patients and has terrible customer service skills. I work at a front desk in healthcare and know that it is not that hard to smile at someone, be friendly and at least fake a good attitude. She should not be working in healthcare and just lost my son as a patient. Do better!!!

Absolutely awful experience…read more I was referred to this office from my PCP, and I am regretting ever considering going to a dermatologist at all after that experience. Firstly, the office is tiny, old, and poorly lit. A very dark and unwelcoming atmosphere. I had to wait for 45 minutes before being seen. The front desk attendant was inconsiderate, unprofessional, and not interested at all in serving customers. The nurse practitioner I spoke with was not thorough. As soon as I began describing my symptoms, they immediately jumped to the conclusion that it was caused by allergies and that I must have thyroid issues. That was the entire conversation. It lasted maybe 5 minutes, and surprise, surprise, this nurse practitioner was way off the mark on any of my skin symptoms being caused by allergies. The next month I receive a bill for hundreds. Luckily, my insurance was able to negotiate off about half of it, but I had to pay the rest out of pocket. I expected a bill, but not for this high of an amount for the poor quality & tiny amount of time spent speaking with a professional. I called to speak with the office manager, Angie Gleeson, to share feedback about my experience and explore options to negotiate a lower, more acceptable charge for the poor experience I had. Angie was not concerned whatsoever with my experience, didn't mention a single time any sort of empathy or understanding, and insisted that the charges are correct and refused to offer any sort of assistance whatsoever. Overall, probably the worst experience visiting a doctor's office I've ever had. Definitely do not recommend this place when I'm sure there are many other places with higher levels service for similar if not lesser prices.

The receptionist and assistant were both abrasive and unwelcoming, but the dermatologist herself was by far the worst part of the experience. (Dr. Martha Hickmann) During the exam, she SCRATCHED my mother's irritated skin with her bare fingernails while examining the area. Not only was this incredibly uncomfortable, but it also felt completely unsanitary and unprofessional. There was no warning, no gentleness, and no respect for basic bedside manner. Her overall attitude throughout the appointment was shockingly condescending. Every question we asked was met with snarky, dismissive responses as if we were stupid for asking normal medical questions. When my mother asked about potential scarring from a procedure, the doctor sarcastically replied, "Every surgical procedure causes a scar," in a tone that was clearly meant to belittle rather than educate. Instead of offering reassurance or a thoughtful explanation, she acted irritated that she even had to answer. The entire appointment felt rushed and careless. Rather than explaining anything clearly or showing confidence and expertise, she seemed to just throw random possibilities around without much insight or certainty. It genuinely felt like guessing rather than informed medical care. What made the experience even worse was how physically invasive and disrespectful she was. She repeatedly put her hands on people without asking, handled irritated skin aggressively, and showed absolutely no awareness of patient comfort whatsoever. There is a massive difference between being direct and being rude, and this office crossed that line repeatedly. We left feeling uncomfortable, dismissed, and honestly upset by how unnecessarily demeaning the entire interaction was. I would absolutely never recommend this dermatologist or this office to anyone looking for compassionate, professional, or respectful care. The entire experience was awful from start to finish.
