Also, quick side note Terminal B is also Terminal 4. This can create confusion at times if your boarding pass says Terminal B and it does not show on the LAX maps online. Why this is, I do not know, but it's a thing. There are also wide disparities in amenities at certain terminals and gates compared to others. For example, if you happen to find yourself in the vary isolated area of gates 45- 48 in Terminal 4, the only places to grab food are a market or a hotdog vendor, so you may want to venture all the way to the main terminal to grab food. Speaking of grabbing food, no matter where you eat at LAX, be prepared to throw down at least $40 per person. This is at the casual eateries, not even the sit down restaurants. The restroom facilities are fine and are in various stages of improvement, but there could be more restrooms spread throughout to alleviate some of the lines. The car rental situation at LAX is also easy to navigate which is another plus and is very fast. Overall, LAX is pretty good considering how busy it is, but high prices at eateries and pockets of construction make it slightly annoying. It doesn't come close to the calm and elevation of say a Changi or Doha, but it works with what it's got. Terminal 4 is about as close to nice as it gets, but for a Global Alpha City like LA, the airport still has a long way to go to bring it to where is should be.

In California, you wouldn't expect a public space like LAX to feel this extreme when it comes to…read morepricing. The cost of food and drinks here is shockingly high--enough to make you wonder if you accidentally walked into Dodger stadium instead of an airport. Arriving hungry with a family can quickly turn into sticker shock, and you'll find yourself questioning whether your credit limit is going to be enough to cover a simple meal. To put it in perspective, chips and salsa run about $16.85, and even guacamole is an extra $3.00 on top of that. A Monster energy drink that's normally around $3.89 at an ARCO can be nearly $8 here. It's hard not to notice how inflated everything feels. Some may argue airport pricing is always higher, but other airports like SLC or MSP don't seem to take it to this level. Even compared to places like Las Vegas, LAX feels especially aggressive. Unless you have no other option, consider eating before you arrive--or flying first class, where at least the dining experience might feel more reasonable than the concessions at LAX. You'd think organized crime was in charge at this airport but I don't even think the mob would inflate prices this much.

I utilized this airport because I had a México cruise trip scheduled with Carnival Cruise Lines. Upon arrival, this airport felt unique compared to most airports. Instead of the traditional method of exiting the plane by walking on a jet bridge, passengers had to walk down portable stairs onto the tarmac (paved surface on the airport runway). Then, there was a designated walkway to get inside the airport to pick up luggage from the baggage claim area/carousel. I absolutely adored the gorgeous, open-air conceptual design of the airport. I was met with the fresh Southern California breeze, a plethora of palm trees, and beautiful sunshine from the sky. I also appreciated that this airport was considerably less crowded with individuals. The ease of navigation within the smaller building made a difference in getting in and out. All in all, the entire environment was picturesque, calm, and relaxing. There were a couple of eateries and a convenience store available for the general public. Since I was in the South Concourse, these options included Boathouse on the Bay, Sheldrake Coffee Roasting & Sweet Jill's Bakery, and Travel@Ease Gifts and News. I finally came back to the Long Beach Airport on Tuesday, 05/19/26, around 10:30 AM to travel home. The line with Southwest Airlines was a tad long to drop off luggage. However, the TSA line was very swift at getting people through. I will be flying to and from this airport moving forward anytime I need to travel to the Southern California region.

I remember the days when it used to be super expensive to fly out of ONT in comparison to LAX. Thankful it's no longer as outrageous. First, this airport is 10 minutes from my house. There is NOTHING 10 minutes from LAX but traffic. For an early morning flights, I can leave my house 30 minutes before boarding time and get there and through TSA with time to give. Flying is already one of the worst ways to me to spend a day so being able to fly out of Ontario makes it a little bit more manageable. I usually fly Southwest or United so I only go to those terminals. Every once in a while, I'll fly out American. So far all the terminals that I use are pretty easy to get in and get out. Sometimes, in the evening, if someone is picking you up, it can take a while to get through but again in comparison to LA, it is a breeze. I love LA and I do a lot in LA but I would rather fly out of Ontario.

There are plenty of great food and drink options, from quick grab-and-go spots to more upscale sit down restaurants. Lots of new restaurants coming soon as well. One of my favorite touches is the live music. There's usually a guitarist/singer performing in a designated area, which adds to the laid-back atmosphere. It's not random, it feels intentional and professional. The location of SNA is ideal if you're staying in the OC - the only other options in the area are SAN and LAX which are both over an hour drive away in either direction. The airport isn't large, but large enough to have several routes passing through it. The aesthetics are fine - not the most modern airport I've been to, and they seem to have a good amount of shops and eateries relative to their size. The rental car counters are super close to the terminal - I can't remember the last time I walked to one from baggage claim. My only real issue with SNA is that because of its size, you will likely be limited in routes. Flying from JFK to SNA was fine, but coming home my only options were connecting flights or a red eye. Neither were ideal, so I planned my itinerary accordingly to fly out of another airport. Overall, SNA is good for what it is, and a great option if you're visiting the Orange County area.

We flew into BUR during memorial day weekend to visit my sister and her hubs. Some of the nice features: 1. The Southwest terminal is pretty small, but they have restrooms spread out everywhere which is super convenient. 3. Dining options are limited. For take-out upon departing BUR, Lunch Box has a large menu of options. They at least have a Starbucks, BBQ, and sandwich places. 4. I like how the rental car center is walkable from the airport, and they have several moving walkways and escalator to speed up the journey. LAX will always be bigger and more glamorous, but when traveling to the LA area, BUR is far less stressful and easier to get in and out. Its also closer to Studio City/Universal Studios where we were staying.

This general aviation airport, naturally long favorite of celebrities & biz heads, had its share of public scrutiny just like many other non commercial airports in California. Like my San Carlos Airport SQL or Palo Alto Airport PAO. Historic significance lays in the fact that famous DC-3 & military aircraft was produced by Douglas Aircraft Co in Santa Monica at the airport before it had moved to Long Beach.
