This is my local airport. Not a pilot, but a fan of aviation and photographer. They have a viewing area at the Airport/Adm Bldg. In addition they have a flight planning room, meeting room, restrooms, etc. Nice place to relax and watch. Western Museum of Flight is just next door. Outside you will see the YF-23, YF-17 and F-14A and inside they usually have a visiting aircraft on display as well A few warbirds and trainers call TOA home and you will see them tied down or flying in. . USCG MH-65C from LAX sometimes practices here as well.

A very busy little airport, right off PCH near my 'hood. It's named after Louis Zamperini, about whom I hear a movie is in the works. He's an Air Force war hero, who was a POW in WW ll. My plan is to, one day soon, rent a helicopter - including a pilot, of course - at Zamperini Field and take the grand tour of LA by air, which includes the coastline, the Hollywood sign close-up, downtown, et al. That will be one helluva review, stay tuned.

Years ago I wanted to get my pilots license until I realized after flying in a small plane that it is really boring after a while. It's like driving without the mass traffic and I have a fear of small planes now. Give me a 777 or 747 and I am a happy camper. BUT...for those that like to fly small private planes this is a great small airport that offers classes for pretty cheap too. I took a photo of the sign that showed they only charge $7 for overnight parking of your plane...that's hell of a lot cheaper that parking a car. I actually came here because I was hoping they had a little cafe to hang out and have some food and watch the planes but they don't. Robinson Helicopter is also located here. Hey Joan...I will go with you on a helicopter ride.

General aviation center was more than an awesome experience. My beautiful wife took me here to fly a plane. My coach Kerry was more than awesome in coaching me on flying his airplane. Thank you for this Awesome experience.

Arriving at LAX I had no issues as we de-boarded. I just don't like the long walk from the deboarding to the luggage claim. After our trip and heading out I noticed that getting to the airport took awhile with the traffic so always prepare for that. When we got there we walked in, checked our bags and had no issues. Going through security there really wasn't a wait and I didn't have any issues. This time around my oldest son had an issue with his Real ID. The person working there was friendly and patient. She even got a supervisor to come and help. They said that they knew that the ID matched my son but were having issues with Real IDs for everyone under 21 years old. They eventually let him through the line. Once through security we found a place to eat and then headed to our gate. Overall I'd say the people that work there are friendly. No real issues checking in our luggage. I just don't like the long walk to pick up the luggage. The security was actually really good. I liked how kind and patient they were with us during the ID issue. There is still ongoing construction but I only saw it through the windows.

I utilized this airport because I had a México cruise trip scheduled with Carnival Cruise Lines. Upon arrival, this airport felt unique compared to most airports. Instead of the traditional method of exiting the plane by walking on a jet bridge, passengers had to walk down portable stairs onto the tarmac (paved surface on the airport runway). Then, there was a designated walkway to get inside the airport to pick up luggage from the baggage claim area/carousel. I absolutely adored the gorgeous, open-air conceptual design of the airport. I was met with the fresh Southern California breeze, a plethora of palm trees, and beautiful sunshine from the sky. I also appreciated that this airport was considerably less crowded with individuals. The ease of navigation within the smaller building made a difference in getting in and out. All in all, the entire environment was picturesque, calm, and relaxing. There were a couple of eateries and a convenience store available for the general public. Since I was in the South Concourse, these options included Boathouse on the Bay, Sheldrake Coffee Roasting & Sweet Jill's Bakery, and Travel@Ease Gifts and News. I finally came back to the Long Beach Airport on Tuesday, 05/19/26, around 10:30 AM to travel home. The line with Southwest Airlines was a tad long to drop off luggage. However, the TSA line was very swift at getting people through. I will be flying to and from this airport moving forward anytime I need to travel to the Southern California region.

We considered leaving our car at lax but parking prices were around the same price. So for convenience of not having to park and take a shuttle to lax from the parking lot didn't sound better than paying and getting a lift. I'm all honestly, I would use this service again. At first I had anxiety because I had to do a quote and didn't actually speak to someone verbally. It was all through email and the site. Email replied for the quote was quick (check your junk mail), I had to ask a question to confirm a car seat and received a reply the same day. Our driver Matt text message the night before which gave me piece of mind. He was very accommodating and nice. I even asked him if he was available to pick us up earlier (you know anxiety with traffics/ traveling with a toddler) and he replied right away. It was a smooth easy drive. We paid using Venmo since their credit card system was down. All in all Matt was professional, prompt, easy to work with. I would definitely request to have him drive us again if available. The van he drove was more than enough room and the car seat worked fine. So yes, even with the price, I give this five stars bc it eased my anxiety on traveling with a toddler and needing a car seat. Made the experience traveling for the first time with my kid a great one and made me feel like we could travel more now.

So 45 min before my flight I am cleared. I'm on the window of the very last row but whatever. Then we are on the plane, and 40 mins after scheduled departure time(3:25) we haven't left and the captain comes on and says the plane has turned into a pumpkin - there was to be a mandatory check in our destination and if we had been in the air by 359 it would have been fine but since we weren't, the mandatory check had to happen at the departure airport and we are now deplaning. I almost always fly American but the southwest terminal at lax is so much nicer I thought I would take a chance. After spending more than I would have on an American flight, I'm fine with southwest. The last few experiences weren't great but this was the last straw. STAY AWAY if you want to actually want to get somewhere. Even Spirit is superior. I fly every week and my experiences with southwest are the worst. If I could give zero stars I would!!
