Very slow service and poor communication…read more The diagnostic process took far longer than expected, despite my repeatedly following up for updates. Communication throughout the process was poor, and I was rarely informed about the status of my laptop. In the end, I was simply told that the motherboard was damaged and the laptop could not be repaired. If I just wanted a second opinion that my laptop was broken, I could have gotten one much much faster and at no cost. The experience cost me both time and money, and I was left frustrated by the lack of timely updates and clear communication. I can't comment on the quality of their repair work since no repair was performed, but based on my experience, their communication and turnaround time need significant improvement.

Gadget Guru was able to fix our drone for less than the cost of having to buy a new one and we are so excited to have it back and running again :) There were unexpected delays in supplies of drone parts which we would have experienced ourselves as well (the times we live in). They reliably called with updates and thanked us for our patience. Great communication regarding what they found to be wrong and what they would be replacing to fix the problem, with time estimates as best they could :) I will definitely be a return customer with any other electronics in need of repair. I had the unfortunate experience of opening a evite dinner invitation attachment on an email from a known acquaintance which turned out to be a Remote Access Trojan (RAT). I tried several times to clean my hard drive with Nord VPN Threat Malware and Malwarebytes programs which found nothing. A backdoor was established on my laptop and I could see the intruder's mouse pointer navigating throughout my laptop while my mouse pointer was disabled. The only solution to stop it was to sever the internet connection. The issue persisted for several days when I would reconnect the internet. The intruder wasn't always present but I could see when they were. The intruder got into my Google password manager, Quicken account and attempted to make Amazon purchases. I was running out of airspeed and ideas and recognized that I needed professional assistance. I researched locally for an I.T. firm and found Will Get IT Done. I met with Will who examined my 7 year old laptop and he recommended I simply replace it as the cost to wipe it clean/replace the hard drive and reload would be comparable to a replacement. Although working just fine prior to the intrusion, given the age of my laptop I took Will's advice and purchased a new laptop. Will and Nicholas transferred all of my clean files from the old to the new laptop in their lab leaving the RAT in the old hard drive. I am now back in great shape.
