The last time I used their services was…read morein 2022 after I had been being cyber bullied and my computer and WiFi hacked for nearly a year while I was renting a senior apartment from Knoxville Community Development Corporation (KCDC) in Knoxville. I already knew KCDC was involved. They have a reputation for going to extremes to target and retaliate against residents, and I had filed HUD complaints against them. When I brought my computer into Computer Depot, the manager/owner looked at me with eyes as big as saucers. I felt intuitively that something was not right. I gave them my computer and asked them to wipe the hard drive and reload my programs to get rid of the malware. When I came back to pick up my computer, I found that they had disabled my Secure Boot and installed a program that allowed them to come and go from my computer system, but also left an open door for the hackers. That was like a big clue that KCDC had hired them as "black hats" to facilitate their cyber harassment and surveillance, which included turning my apartment neighbors against me and encouraging them to harass and surveil me. Two attorneys who reviewed my screen shot evidence warned me that KCDC might be setting me up for a criminal indictment. I will never use Computer Depot again.

It was a very cheap unit, probably $59 at a box store. It came used and without ink, so we had to buy the cartridges. The printer didn't work they directed us to other cartridges, we bought those the printer still did not work. Now we are in $79 for an initial fee and over $100 in ink cartridges. They said they would come to our house, no more than two blocks from their office. They cancelled at the last minute due to a forecast of rain??? They rescheduled, didn't show. They rescheduled again and didn't show. Now they no longer respond to email inquiries. I am planning, if no response to this complaint, to file one with the Better Business Bureau.

I have worked with computers and worked on repairing computers since personal computers were first introduced. My problem was I was from out of town and I accidentally dropped my work laptop causing it to malfunction. I needed someone locally who could provide the knowledge and expertise to help me get back up and running or transfer the data from my hard drive to a new laptop. I sent an email to Dan late in the evening explaining my emergency and requesting he call me to see what he could do. He did call me back and offered for me to bring the laptop to his shop in the morning. I did. Dan diagnosed the problem and determined the laptop was unrepairable. He then retrieved the hard drive and together we troubleshot the hard drive until we were able to get access to the data and start the transfer of data to a new laptop I purchased directly from Dan. This process took several hours during which we talked and got to know one another. I was impressed by his knowledge and experience repairing computers and his willingness to sit and work with me through this laptop disaster. I could not have found a better person to help me out. I believe he was likely the only place and person in the area that could have helped me out. I am so glad I found Dan and consider him not just a computer repairman, but a new found friend. I went to their shop in need of help with my gaming computer…read more Previously I went to visit 3 other tech repair stores, and no one could seem to figure out why my PC was not booting. Tech Nav was my last resort, and they did not disappoint! As soon as I walked into their store I was greeted and welcomed. They were very friendly and professional. After explaining the issue I had been having with my computer, they asked if they could plug it up at one of their workstations and give it a quick diagnosis to see exactly what was happening. I was more than happy to let them and quite pleased because honestly, I expected to leave it with them for a few days before hearing back after seeing how busy they were! The technician spent some time trying different troubleshooting methods and using different tools to figure out the issue while at the same time explaining step by step exactly what he was doing and what he was looking for, which I appreciated very much. After about 15 minutes he was able to pinpoint the issue and figured out it was my processor! He had explained that usually CPU failure isn't super common, but it happens. He mentioned that he luckily had a good/working CPU on hand that would fit the socket on my motherboard so we could test and 100% verify that was the issue. I agreed and he took apart my cooler and pulled out my CPU and replaced it with the one he was testing with, then after putting it back together, hit the power button and BOOM! My PC immediately booted up like normal! I was absolutely ecstatic and relieved I was able to finally get some answers as to why my PC wasn't working! They also took the time to offer and inform me about multiple options on where to go from there. We could keep the one he replaced in the computer, which they did mention it was used, or they could order me a brand-new processor from one of their vendors. I went for ordering a new one, I even went with an upgrade! About 3 days later I received a call letting me know the part had arrived and my computer was ready for pick up! Overall, I could not be happier with the service from Tech Nav! They never charged me for any of the time they took diagnosing it either! If I could give more than a 5-star rating I absolutely would! I highly recommend Tech Nav, great service, friendly staff, knowledgeable, and great pricing!!!

Took in computer to be updated to Windows 11. They were busy but felt they could get on it fairly…read morequickly. Two months later, I was told they had the parts, but had not worked on it. After visiting the shop a couple times to check on the progress, they finally started working on it. Finally it was delivered back to my home. They failed to bring the dongle to hook up the wireless keyboard, so there was a delay in the setup. When we got the computer, Windows 11 had been installed, but no product key was supplied. I had to obtain it myself which was an added expense of $78. They were supposed to install an anti-virus software, but never did and never returned my call concerning that. The unit won't wake up from sleep mode from either the keyboard or mouse, although the settings in the computer says it should. They never returned my call regarding that issue either. I do not recommend this servicer to anyone.

By the time I got it back, I had already bought a new laptop, and was seriously worried that they were doing something illicit with my data due to the length of time they had my laptop, their shady behavior, and their outright lies. First, they started dodging my phone calls and almost NEVER called me back. I am not exaggerating - I am looking at my call history to them right now and during those 8 months I called them 41 times for either updates or in attempts to get my laptop back. They called me 3 times total. Every time I did manage to speak to the guy, it was just excuse after excuse, delay after delay, even at the point where I just wanted my property back because it was obvious he wasn't doing anything with my laptop. Here's another very concerning problem. He told me that my laptop needed to be sent to Dell, and that entire fiasco was part of what took so long. I agreed, and as my suspicions grew as to what the heck was going on, ended up calling Dell myself because I just wanted my laptop back and I did not trust what this guy was telling me anymore. And as it turned out, Dell did not have my laptop. I asked this guy about it, and he told me (paraphrasing) that he didn't actually send it to Dell, but some guy qualified to work on Dell products who does this stuff on the side. To keep what could be a much longer review short, this was entirely unprofessional, shady, and dishonest. After a full EIGHT MONTH nightmare I finally got my laptop back - in exactly the same condition I brought it there - took it to UBreakiFix, and it was in and out within a week. Go anywhere but here.
