I agree that Comutershare is THE WORST EVER. Their online reps (for the most part) are very helpful -And I have talked with 25+ since April 2025 but their internal processing is completely unprofessional (or incompetent). When my wife died, I called to have some JT Ten stock changed over to my name only. It took 4 months of aggravation with Computershareto get it accomplished and I have collected almost 100 printed pages in a 3-ring binder -and now I canot log in on their website -and the document I received this weekend has the WRONG address. 0 Stars -- I started with investing $10,000 years ago in XTIA by crowdfunding on an up and coming company. Computershare held the funds. When the company went public, the $10,000 was divided by 3 by some exchange rate. So the value I own is $19 --3 shares of stock!! I will never get the money back - the stock price will have to go from 6 to 3200 to break even. I could have just invested the money directly and got 1400 shares. I called them to let them know there was a clerical error, but they do not care referring to documentation sent. Bottom line is these people are crooks. I am going to the SEC to report the devalue of funds. I don't expect to get anything back, but hopefully others won't get hurt by this shady operation. read more

I have had stock with Computershare for many years. Until recently I have had almost no interaction with the company. Dividends were paid on time and access to accounts, on line, worked well. Last week, I received a letter saying they received a request to change my address. "If you did not request this change of address, call us promptly". I called and told the clerk I had not made such a request. He stated "we are initiating a fraud investigation". What he did not tell me was this investigation would result in deactivation of my online access. In order to correct this gross incompetence I was told to send a notarized letter to Computershare. I sent an overnight letter that they received before 6 a.m. the following day. My account is still frozen and I am not sure my holdings are still with the company or been transferred to the new address. The new address won't be revealed to me. I plan to remove all holdings from Computersahre when and if this is ever resolved. I can't be without access to my accounts for several days. read more

It is impossible to get help! I opened a chat window. They say connecting you to a live agent but no live agent answers. Once i got connected but it took them so long to research my issue that i got disconnected! So i called in. After 10 minutes they ask for my social. I give it and the. They ask for it again! Then they transfer me, the phone rings once and then i get a dial tone! So i started calling branch offices with the same result! Finally at one branch office a lady answers who promised to call me back if we got disconnected. We got disconnected and she never called me back! Meanwhile, every year they issues me a 1099 div. This year they did nit though they held stock that paid dividends every quarter. Computershare claims no dividends were paid, yet i can see where they were! Zero Stars It is very difficult to impossible to get your money out of your account once you have one. I bought shares in 2012 and recently have tried to sell them and close the account. My account would only give me the option to buy more shares. I spoke with Computershare and they said they could not sell the original shares and I went to a broker to get my original shares out. The shares from my dividends is another story. I asked them to sell them. They said they would and to wait 5 days for bank processing and 10 days for mailing to me. I waited a month and called them back. They said I never requested them to sell them and I would have had to have been transferred to a US Computershare person to sell them. Requested after dividends were paid in April for account to be transferred from decd account to TOD beneficiary account submitted all paperwork with medallions and certifications with $250 processing fee. I sent my original birth certificate and a death certificate as it stated in the instructions. Shared finally got transferred in Late July. After not receiving my original birth or death certificate back called to find out original documents were destroyed. In September I received a statement about dividends being reinvested to the decd account. Called back and was informed to have the reinvested shares transferred another $250 fee is needed as well as more paperwork. the value of the reinvested shared doesn't equal the $250 fee so i guess it's just going to chill and collect dividends.... fuck this company read more

Non-English speakers, baey legible on phones that sound like they were from communist Russia in the 1950's, on a script, who don't know squat. The worst, inept, antiquated service and people ever!!! I set up my account almost 20 years ago. I no longer have the original email address I used to set my account up. I can't remember my password either. The only way you can get your password is to have it sent to your email, which I no longer have access to. I've been trying to get this fixed with computershare reps for 3 months now. 8 calls talking to reps later and still can't access my account. Each reps I spoke to tells me something different. They snail mailed me a new password which doesn't work. 3 x a try and you have to wait 24 hours to try again. The girl on the phone, yep that's the correct password. Call back in. 24hours and someone can walk you through the same thing I just walked you through. Tasked to a guy 5 weeks ago. Sent me a new password by snail mail. Called last week. Couldn't remember the login. The girl told me they would wipe my account clean and I could setup a new account. Give it a few days so the guys could complete it. Gave it a week and old account was still there. Called again today. Tried the login and new password after giving the rep every identifying information that any person could possibly have to prove their identity, well sorry, that's the correct username and password, you're locked out. Call back in 24 hours. Why in the Hell would I trust a Company to handle my stocks when they can't even handle a simple login issue on their own website. I literally have been dealing with ComputerShare since 2014 about stock issues from a previous company I used to work for. Their online system is an absolute joke, most people that I have spoken to there don't have a clue what is going on or what is actually needed to help the customer, with a couple of exceptions of some agents that were trying their best to help. The wait times for trying to speak with an actual human is almost not even an option. They actually Mail you paper forms to be filled out, that take weeks to get to you and then nothing gets resolved, even after 11 years as stated earlier. Oh, then they want you to pay additional fees for certificates that they don't even mail to you, claiming they have without any proof they actually did send it in the mail. A complete fraud of a company. Ask any stock brokerage employee that has ever dealt with Computershare, how poorly run of a company they are to deal with. On phone with customer service for nearly a full hour trying to resolve login issues. The worst broken that I ever worked with and I have tried the majority of them. They are used by IBM for their ESPP program so I have to use them, however everything is over complicated on their website, it takes 4 days to just sell your stock and then forever to get the money and their agents can only provide vague information and don't know much to begin with apart from reading the script. When it takes your broker 4 months to transfer a stock you know something is wrong. The transfer was rejected 3 times. The fee for replacing a lost certificate was $3,000. On the 4th submission a transaction fee of $175 was added. Clearly Computershare has no incentive to help shareholders get their money. ive been traying to use their live chat option to resolve an issue and no one is talking to me. The website says that i have a check that needs to be replaced so when i click on the company that needs to re-send the check.. nothing happens. ive tried calling the customer service number and after their automated person doesn't understand that i am trying to say "AMC" and not some other company, it tries to send me to a live customer service specialist where it rings FOREVER and then automatically hangs up on me. Been trying to get my certificates since 2022. I eventually lost track and gave up. I called again and was told to submit an order online to replace my certificate. Paid 127 dollars. 2 weeks later I seen nothing and called only to have an extremely rude and condescending woman tell me I didn't follow the right process and that before I can place am order for the replacement certificate I would need an affidavit of loss. Well after going round and round she finally told me it could also be done online as I did but they dont have a transaction record therefor I would need to wait for this affidavit of loss and then send in my request for a replacement. We'll instead of being so God damn condescending why didn't you just say the issue from the beginning is that the transaction didn't show up and that is the root of the issue. So here I am now waiting for paper work to send this in manually. Every time I asked this low life a question she would answer in a slow tone like she had just repeated herself for the 5th time. Horrible experience. Trying to sell shares purchased for me as a gift in 2000. I was a minor (16years old) and my mom was custodial. My mom tried to sign them to me; Computershare has a nightmare process. We decided to sell them-nightmare two. I will NEVER buy/purchase any stock that is associated with Computershare in any way. We have filled out numerous forms, paid to overnight them only to be informed, now we want this-or this will take 5-10 working days. I don't think the people I talked to were in offices. Computershare is an absolute nightmare to deal with. One star is too much. Trying to convert my parent's shares from lost certificate status to book shares and then to the name of the estate took over two years and thousands of dollars in their administrative and bond fees plus attorney's fees, notary costs and delivery costs. Their obtuse documentation is sent snail mail making trying to satisfy their unreasonable requirements within a 60 day window nearly impossible. Then your documents are stale and you have to resubmit. If possible, avoid them. If you are stuck with them as your transfer agent, make copies of everything you send them, use overnight delivery and get a tracking number. Then be prepared to do the document submission drill multiple times and be disconnected from every call to customer service after they put you on hold for 45 minutes. Good bourbon is the only Computershare antidote I found helped. read more

I plead with you to work with your loved ones to establish and define your beneficiaries and better yet do not let their securities be held by Computershare. You do not want to know what a Medallion Stamp Guarantee is and the awful bureaucracy to get one so define your beneficiaries. This review refers to the UK based Conmputershare (purple corporate logo). Unbelievably dreadful company run by CEO Stuart Irving. After having them manage 500GBP worth of shares for over 15 years, I am unable to sell them without going through a time wasting anti-fraud id check, that requires a lot of work and paid certification. Having fulfilled their identity requirements, I have now been told that I can only sell via the post. The holding is simply not worth the hassle, however I am tired of reporting such a small holding each year to the tax authorities. I wish I had never heard of Computershare or Stuart Irving. I would love to know, who could possibly be laundering 500GBP having held the stock for over 15 years...!!!! read more

Useless company, makes it incredibly difficult to do anything that way they can charge you their transaction fee multiple times. They've lost my stocks twice in a transfer, and wouldn't authorize a transfer when my bank account had my middle initial. Every other piece of information matched, SIN, Address, Name, etc. A middle initial was their excuse to charge me 40$ again, to have it fail once again. The "customer service representatives" (clearly an offshore operation) I talked with are literally the most incompetent people I have ever experienced. I have been on the phone with them at least five times over the past two months, waited countless hours for assistance and dealt with people who don't understand English, (sorry, but to do this job, you should be able to communicate effectively and actually understand what you are doing) simply cannot understand what I am asking, and can only answer questions that comport with their prearranged script. I have a unique problem, and have been told to submit countless pages of documentation, some conflicting with what the last "customer service representative" told me. And now, after submitting exactly what they requested and reviewing it with them before I sent it in, I just received a letter telling me that this was incorrect and requesting me to send in the exact same information I had just sent. The worst part is every time I call, I have to start from the beginning with the entire dolorous tale. Is there no one in the US who can help with this? Their customer service representatives are incredibly condescending and inpatient, they're completely misinformed and uneducated, and the entire computer share system is archaic. I started my process with a simple password change that has to come through the mail, and because someone released a second password change, that pin no longer worked and then I had to wait for a second one to come through the mail which also didn't work.
