My family and I have been eating at Conan's for 30+ years and I can honestly say, we've never been disappointed. Their pizza is always yummy! We used to always eat at the restaurant on Guadalupe or location by Oat Willie's on 29th St., occasionally at the Anderson Ln location and now we are south so we frequent the Stassney Ln location. I was invited by a friend the other day for sprit night for the Crockett Tennis Team. When pulling in I missed my turn and ended up in the Enterprise Rental Car parking lot and was confused but saw an opening and ended up in Conans. When we got inside it was so cute. There were string lights hung up and all the tables, kinda reminded me of the classic Pizza Hut. When we placed our order, the cashier entertained my nonsense about adding pineapple to my pizza. He agreed that it is the best and I agree. When you agree with me on that, that lets me know that it is a good place. Then I found out it was actually the owner and he was very nice. He also told me that he owned Cherry Creek Catfish, I did not know that but I also don't eat fish. ( I let my manager know this fact and apparently this was a well known fact) They bring you your pizza and I will say that it was the best Hawaiian pizza I have had. We ordered the medium half hawaiian/half pepperoni. We got drinks, they had cherry coke, hopefully they are reading this and add cherry Coke Zero to the fountain (my FAVE). I'll be completely honest, I hadn't been to Conan's since high school and I wanted to take my non-Austinite husband just because the vibe is so fun and unique, but we were impressed by the delicious pizza! I keep saying I'm not a big fan of Detroit style, I'm not a big fan of deep dish, but I just need to realize I love good pizza doesn't matter the type XD We got a 10" Barbarian and it was plenty for the 2 of us. It was hot, absolutely stuffed with toppings, juicy (yeah that's a weird pizza description but it was) and oh so satisfying! I don't know how well the leftover piece will hold up and I don't think I'd order it delivered, but fresh out of the oven it was delicious. The vibe of course was exactly what I had promised my husband, don't take your kiddos if you are worried about them finding barely covered breasts in the table decor lol! The restaurant was pretty dead when we arrived but staff was friendly and attentive. We didn't play any of the arcade games but it's a fun option! My only very small complaint is the very limited beer menu, but no stars off for that it is what it is. I'll definitely be back! read more

This incredible pizza shop has been around Austin since the 70s and there's a reason why they're still going strong today. I don't know what it is about their pizza that makes it so good. Maybe it's the fact that all the ingredients are fresh and the cheese isn't waxy. The sauce is my favorite. It just reminds me of the sauce on Detroit-style and other square-style pizza. Though, Conan's is clearly not square. The way the crust is braided reminds me of old-school pizza coming out of my Nana's kitchen. Trust me when I say we've never had a bad experience. read more

You've got a mix of booths and tables to set yourselves at after you place your order. There's a couple of video games and a TV going for some assisted entertained, in addition to the fun wall and table top decor. There's a small restroom to prepare for hand held bites. You can choose the dough and whether you want a thin or thicker experience. Both wheat and white doughs were delicious with the wheat being, not surprisingly, more flavorful. I've always loved Conan's. Deep dish savage. Just ordered one (delivery) with extra sauce & extra pepperoni. I got a thin crust something or other, maybe a Savage, but with no extra pepperoni & no extra sauce. In fact, with no sauce at all that I can see. And it was cold. After watching a local food vlogger give Conan's Pizza a good review, I decided to take the long drive to here from San Antonio just to see what it's about. I walked inside and was greeted by a friendly young woman at the counter who was very patient with me since it was my first time there. I asked how long does it take for their deep dish pizzas to cook and I was going to order wings for an appetizer until she told me the bad news that their wings are served unsauced. So I skipped the wings and got a small house salad,no cheese and with Italian dressing on the side and ordered a small pepperoni deep dish and a small fountain drink. I went to sit in one of their booths. I was in awe of the cool toys they had like the Ms. Pac-Man arcade game and a Led Zeppelin pinball machine. My salad had arrived and was made to my liking however it had too many onions and I didn't care for the green bell peppers so I had picked them out and enjoyed the salad while watching the local news. Minutes later my pizza had arrived. I had to ask an employee for crushed red pepper flakes and grated parmesan cheese since they weren't available at my table. I ate my first slice with a fork and a knife since I was expecting it to be heavy and thick with a lot of cheese ,sauce and toppings. There was a little bit of a cheese pull,not a lot like you get with a regular Chicago style deep dish and the pizza was piping hot and good too. I have to come here to get my review in as I noticed the owner deleted my review on the website. The food was pretty good but the atmosphere was severely lacking. The guy who placed my order was clearly not in a great mood and it affected the customer service skills necessary when working at a restaurant. I also was able to hear him yelling at someone in the back who has taken my order in the past and always appears to be on top of her stuff. Not Chicago style pizza! I have been searching for Chicago style pizza for awhile now. I called Conan's to inquire. Jeremy said they make a Chicago style but not stuffed pizza. He said there were a lot of toppings under the cheese. I thought I would give them a try. I called back and spoke with another employee that said they had a deep dish pizza so I ordered a Hamburger Deep Dish pizza. The pizza was about 10 to 12 inches across and 1 inch height. The crust was not very thick. Deep dish should be thicker than this. There was not a lot of hamburger meat. The cheese and sauce were decent. I was very disappointed in spending $22 on this pizza. I ate one slice and threw it away. Actually I found a homeless person and gave it to her. She may or may not have thrown it away. I give plenty of rave reviews for places that deserve it Jeremy and speak my truth on places that do not. I don't like to waste money on something I can't stomach. read more

Something has changed at Conan's South. Now I'm sure I was a dumbass when I wrote my previous review here. The raw pizza dough did suck but I should have been a bit more understanding given how many toppings I had on my pizza at the time. Since that experience I've gone back multiple times and had nothing but amazing experiences. I love the arcade machines scattered throughout the establishment set to free play. I love their new T-shirt designs. I love the new nicer Frazzetta murals. What I really love however is their amazing pizza. The thin crust is probably some of my favorite hand tossed in the whole city right now. The deep dish "savage" is a real treat. They were really busy because of Thanksgiving holiday - we had to call twice to see where our pizza was because it was taking so long to be delivered. Their pizza was delicious! I recommend ordering straight from the business though, NOT from a third party app/service. Had an issue with the delivery driver from a third party delivery service, Grub Hub. I chose the option to have the pizzas handed to me, but they left the pizza on the wet ground instead. Also there was a table right outside the door they could have put it on. Furthermore, the delivery person did not knock on the door as we were all in the living room, and lastly they did not update the delivery status until 40 minutes after it had been delivered and left on the wet ground while raining. WHO DOES THAT?!?! Needless to say, I contact both the third party delivery service, Grub Hub, and the store. I was refunded the money and one of the owners of Conan's took care of the pizza for us. He was upset as well, and called the company to file a complaint as well. So, FOOD DELISH! Order straight from their website/app or call them directly. I've been going to the original location since I was in middle school and now visit the south location when in the area. I was craving pizza and needed something new. I don't know I have missed the opportunity of trying Conans and I even went to high school across the street forever ago. I ordered online, when I arrived it was slow so pickup was easy. I ordered the pizza with garlic and it did not disappoint. I like that the garlic is chopped up and crispy like the pizza and not while cloves like other pizzas serve. Pizza (Chicago style deep dish) - again average, i felt like the crust could have been better and ingredients fresher. Ambiance: 3.5/5 Classic American pizza place feeling on the inside. I liked that they had little nooks where you could feel some level of privacy despite the small indoor space. You had sweet and spicy, crunchy and soft, hot and not hot (onions were chopped but still kinda raw which was awesome)! The dough, with all that mountain of veggies on top, held up extremely well. The outer crust came in a twiat that reminded me of garlic knots. This was my fave as it was crunchy on the outside and so soft on the inside! My only complaint was that they were out of lemonade.
