Friendly staff! Very efficient. The place was packed but I was in and out very quickly. Doesn't deserve all the bad reviews

I am so disappointed. I hardly ever leave negative reviews, and my previous review for this…read morelocation was 5 stars! I went in a few days ago for a migraine. I'm on prescription medication, but sometimes it doesn't work. For years whenever this happens, I go to my doctor's office or an urgent care facility and every time I'm given a shot of Toradol, and every time, the migraine is gone within the hour. Poof! It's a magical drug for me, and a known drug that is widely injected for reaching people under migraine attack. Here's what happened this time: I was the only patient there. I was waiting in the room, the PA took my vitals, and I told him about the Toradol. Then I waited at least 15 minutes for the doctor to see me. Now, in most cases, this would not be a problem. However, I was the only patient and I could hear the the employees chatting away about some bad experience with a police officer and not believing the ID belonged to them, blah blah blah. They were chatting loudly just outside the door to the room where I was waiting. Then the door opened, and the voice that had been chatting for the last 15 minutes asked me what the problem was. Like not in a professional way. The lights were so bright so I had my sunglasses on and my hands over my eyes, so yeah, I looked strange. Buts she was clearly annoyed or something. Anyway, I told the doc about the migraine, the prescription not working, and how the Toradol is the KNOWN solution. She said "Huh. I've never heard of that..." and went on for a solid three minutes about how Toradol was the wrong thing, she's never heard of i being used for migraines, and how she wanted to prescribe another medication. I said if she wanted to prescribe the other drug, I'd try it, but the Toradol works, and I've gotten it from that location several times, so I wanted to the Toradol shot. Rudely, she turned, walked out, said to someone "she can have 30 of the Toradol" and left the door open. Never once did she express any concern or trust that I, a woman in my 50s, know what works for me. Instead she was insensitive to the situation and confrontational. I did the get the shot and the migraine was gone within about 40 minutes. The med (Topiramate?) that she prescribed, but the way, was not available for pick up until the next day (not helpful for a massive migraine). I looked it up, and it wouldn't have helped anyway--it's for prevention (like my other meds) not management once the symptoms begin. So. Looks like I'm not going to this location again. Now I see why the other reviews were so negative.

I had a very disappointing experience at AIMS Urgent Care…read more Before arriving, I completed my registration and insurance information online because I wanted to be seen as quickly as possible. When I got there at 6pm, I was asked to fill out additional paperwork, and then I was told they didn't accept my insurance--even though I had already submitted it online and everything appeared to be approved. The nurse who took my vitals seemed rushed and inattentive. She had trouble getting my temperature to register multiple times. I overheard her tell a coworker that the thermometer wasn't working, but instead of using another thermometer or trying a different method, she recorded my temperature as 98°F even though I had been running a fever since the night before. That was very concerning to me. Both the nurse and the doctor were dismissive throughout my visit. When I tried explaining all of my symptoms, I felt like neither of them was really listening. The doctor spoke very quickly, spent very little time with me, and ordered a rapid strep test. While I waited, I could hear staff at the front desk laughing and talking while I sat in the exam room waiting for results. Instead of the doctor coming back to explain my diagnosis or answer any questions, someone from the front desk came into my room and simply told me I was free to leave and that my results would be emailed to me. I was told I would be prescribed antibiotics, but no one explained what medication I was receiving or discussed my diagnosis in person. I was also told my prescription would be ready in about 40 minutes, but it wasn't available until around 9:00 p.m. The following day, I called to request a doctor's note because I was still very sick. I was told they could only provide documentation saying I had been seen, not a note addressing work restrictions. Given my symptoms and diagnosis, I asked whether they could provide documentation supporting time off while I was contagious, but they declined. I also asked if they could email the note since I was ill and trying to avoid going out again, but they refused and told me I would have to come pick it up in person. Overall, I left feeling unheard, dismissed, and frustrated. My concerns weren't taken seriously, communication was poor, and the level of care I received did not meet my expectations. I hope this feedback encourages improvements in patient communication and attentiveness.

They also claimed I "only" waited 1.5 hours according to when they checked me in the system which tells me they either forgot to actually check me in when I showed up 10 minutes ahead of my appointment time or they dragged out the process by having two different receptionist collect my info at different times. I also was a little annoyed that they made me come up to the front desk for different cards or paperwork three separate times with a known knee injury instead of collecting everything at once. I waited without complaint until the two hour point, to which I did lose my patience a little bit and asked why they wouldn't mention that they didn't have X-rays available when I checked in for my kneecap clicking in and out of place. They claimed that's up to provider discretion on whether or not I would've ever gotten an X-ray, but personally I would have gone somewhere else if I had known it wasn't even an option. As I was cancelling my appointment and venting my frustration to the receptionist about having waited so long when they couldn't have helped in the first place, they FINALLY called my name and the nurse seemed shocked that they hadn't ever told me there wasn't an xray tech available in the first place. He did offer to still see me and potentially get me scheduled for an xray another day but I felt I had wasted enough time and didn't need to waste my money being told to ice it and take ibuprofen in the meantime. Don't bother booking an appointment, you'll still wait hours past it, and make sure you ask outright if the service you're looking for is available. I personally won't be returning.

More likely to get surgeon or other help during night and weekend. I believe she's correct. From the moment I blacked out during IV insertion until discharge, I was helped by people who know their field and are damn good at it. Being neurodivergent, the ER and hospital environment is mega-overload. I always disclosed my ND and all of my doctors and surgeons were patient and driven to see my health improve. Some of the people who left a very positive impression = Dr. Leslie Tamura. Advocate, calm, intelligent, a solid rock of the best hospitalist I'll probably ever meet. She made me feel safe, heard and assured I would be in good hands. Rutu, charging nurse for her acceptance, support and humor. Lilian and Marlon for being accepting, caring and relating. Renz and Billy, amazing nurses I could trust. Ken was a cheerful and lighthearted tech assistant. And social worker Ashly, a soul filled with the best energy a patient could ever wish to have. She's in the right field! If you find yourself in the Russell tower (older wing), penthouse floor #5, be aware the rooms can get hot on the southern side but getting a sliver of a view of the helicopter pad (had to get up to see) does give the brain something to masticate and reminds you that others are out there helping others (soul warming). Oh, and that hospital air filtration is impeccable. I also liked the garden on the "second" floor. It is peaceful. And the food, it is decent. I loved the grilled zucchini and white rice. The packaged lemon juice was tasty. I never want to see any of the staff or doctors again unless we cross paths at the store or at a really great party. But, if I ever must go to the hospital again, I will hope to see them or I hope that their cohorts ought to be as awesome as them. Note: cell, text, internet reception in basement/ER is nearly non-existent (not limited to T-Mobile). Their Wi-Fi may as well not exist. Send text messages with the time sent. If it eventually goes through, the other person will know the age of your message. Floors above ER should have significantly better reception. Bring your phone charged and with your wall charger including plug, not just cable. Bring flip flops, dry shampoo, fresh chonies, your preferred ear plugs, comfortable lounging clothes, and hand lotion if you like those things and may be admitted. Note: when you hear a faint nursery chime it means a baby was just born in the hospital. *warm fuzzies*

Then she pond me of on other urgent cares. The prior year I had the same experience, where they tell me that I need to make an appointment. They need to take the sign off WALK IN WELCOME because it's all BS. The prior year I was told that facility was ONLY for like physicals and small issues, that is what they are equipped with. The situations I had were not major health issues. They need to put appointments ONLY and not give patients that false security of walk in welcome. Then when they tell me the doctor has a lot of paperwork to complete. As much as most people have to pay for healthcare, this is totally unacceptable. I going to get in contact with corporate representatives to show how a doctor has a lot of paperwork to do to see a patient. The prior year I thought it was just that day but it happened again and I bet I am not the only one that this has happened too.
