Dr Mansfield and physical therapist Ms Nelson were phenomenal. They were very helpful with my workman's compensation injury

Dr. Mansfeld is excellent and truly cares for his patients. A discerning physician who is focused on achieving the best possible medical outcomes for his patients who have been seriously injured. I've encountered and worked with many doctors and he advocates for those who are vulnerable and treats everyone with dignity. Front desk staff and management need better training with customer service and active listening skills, such as waiting for someone calling in to finish their sentence and not be cut off multiple times. Lack of common courtesy with a dismissive and disrespectful tone. Management was quick to side with other co-workers without having witnessed the conversation. This poor customer service is becoming more common place with front desk staff in clinics everywhere- more so for underserved and low-income populations. In fairness to the manager however, she admitted to her shortcomings and a sincere apology was offered. Don't be afraid to push back if you feel disrespected as a patient or family member. Compassion and professionalism should be standard in healthcare- even in non-licensed personnel. read more

My recent visit to Concentra Urgent Care was an extremely negative experience, and I feel compelled to share my concerns with you. These are the parties involved, Dr. Kimberly Abernethy, Katharina Bremer, and Kiana Vogt. These three white women literally discriminated against me with Dr. Kimberly Abernethy being the culprit, gatekeeper, and ringleader, she's the judge and jury over your work-related injury and mostly sides only with the companies. Dr. Kimberly Abernethy's diagnosis has been disputed and also proven wrong when related to work-related injuries. During my visit, I encountered healthcare professionals who were unprofessional and disrespectful. Their behavior was completely unacceptable, and it left me feeling disrespected and violated. I believe that patients deserve to be treated with dignity and respect, and I am deeply disappointed that this was not the case during my visit. I am considering reporting my experience to the appropriate authorities and seeking legal advice, but I wanted to reach out to you first. The worst experience in urgent care of my life. I visited with an extreme case of stomach virus. I filled out their questionnaire and I mentioned nasua, headache, and diarrhea, and because of that, I was flagged as potentially having COVID and was asked to leave the premesis with no services rendered. So, waited 30 minutes to be told that my vaccinated self had COVID because of stomach virus symptoms. No cough, no lung issues, nada. As someone who desperately needed help, Contentra failed to help in any way and made it clear they can't be depended on. I recommend CareNow on Burnet. They got me served much quicker and without the misdiagnosis. read more

Pretty much just commercialized medicine, you will wait but it's not that bad, if you're looking for treatment it's actually not that bad, the wait will be 20-30 minutes even though they may give you an hour estimate, the staff is pretty nice, The doctors seem to have diverse medical experience and seem to come from different backgrounds. The front desk is kind of slow but all in all not too bad. read more

I visited here first thing in the morning for an employee drug test. I was told it the total experience would be 45 min. I was out in and out in about 20! Really nice staff members, Latifa was especially kind and helpful. It was a very calm environment and a clean facility, as well. Update from 4/9/2020: I had my MRI. Guess what Jason? I have a broad-based central and right-sided disc protrusion, associated with an annular fissure or tear. Translation: herniated disc. Went for a DOT in order to get a CDL for my new job. Was told my BMI was a little over 40 so they only gave me 3 months extension on my DOT. Turns out the height they had placed in their initial physical exam was incorrect causing me to not get my 2 year DOT. When I called and asked if they can correct my height, as I was willing to come back and get my height remeasured, they had refused and requested I pay to do the ENTIRE physical exam again. This place is filled with scam artist looking for any way to squeeze patients from their money. I'm only leaving this review after many back and forth conversations with the lab, would not recommend anyone to ever have any test made here as it's filled with incompetent doctors and nurses. read more

Went in to get a simple X-ray of my already healing broken foot. While in the waiting room I had to overhear workers hanging around gossiping and pretty much leaning around. When I finally got to see the crypt keeper doctor. It was so flippant about why I wouldn't just go to a hospital. Mind you if I had insurance, I wouldn't have to deal with a low tier person like it. While I was waiting for my X-Ray, I had to hear the staff discussing whether or not my foot was actually injured. Don't waste your money here. read more

I have never had such a mortifying experience. I am so disappointed this is the only urgent care I can go to under my insurance because I'm better off just staying home!! Granted the doctor helped, but I had to go like 5 times because I wasn't fully helped. He was also unempathetic. They all are to some extent. When I really sat down with him one time he seemed alright and a lot of the employees are nice. But I think they're immune to feeling empathetic. Who knows? Maybe they're understaffed And also frustrated. But seriously whoever is in charge of that, is failing the most. Cuz this place has potential The wait times are RIDICULOUS as well as outrageously unreasonable and unbelievable. It also seems the more sick you are is the more annoyed they seem. Literally one morning there was barely anyone in the waiting room. I was the first one or second there and the doc had the audacity to give attitude and say I passed over ten people and to be patient. I honestly think they make you wait on purpose to piss you off. I'm obviously in tremendous pain. But no one gives a shit. You're a nuisance more than anything. I've never dreaded going to any place more than I've dreaded going here. Horrible experience. I went in with a potential broken or sprained right wrist. I wasn't even able to sign in because of the pain since I am right handed. I got assistance with signing in but was then presented with 5 pages to complete or I would not be seen. I could not get any assistance. Came in for a workers comp injury diagnosis/check up and got treated like I was lying by the md. Having severe shoulder pain to the point where I am in constant pain and discomfort from an injury from a fall I had at work and all she did was some movements to see if it was torn or not and just said "go back to work and see how it does" if you are actually dealing with real pain/injury please save yourself the trouble of coming here if you don't have to. read more

My experience here was fine. Yes I had to wait but it's flu season, it's first come first serve. Just because it's "urgent" care doesn't mean you don't have to wait like everyone else. I needed to get a drug screening for employment. The first place my employer sent me refused to see me because of the kind of form I had even though I had an appointment. The Concerta Urgent Care off of Research Blvd. saw me even though I didn't have an appointment. They quoted me 45 minutes and saw me within 20 minutes. I was in and out with the entire procedure within 5 minutes tops! Those guys were hustling while remaining kind. read more

I should have listened to these reviews. We called TWICE to make sure they would accept a CareCredit card and both times they said it would be fine! Then, in order to be seen I was forced to sign a document where I basically had to give carte blanche to the whole staff to prescribe drugs or surgery! (Including "non-physicians and assistance"). An hour after I get there they tell me they do not accept CareCredit. Ridiculous. Wasted an hour of my day in a wheelchair with my ankle in an ace bandage all so I go get back in the car and go home. I had a miserable experience here. The gentleman I dealt with at the counter def has an attitude, or at least to me he did. I would have given it a 1 star but the Nurse practitioner that saw me was just awesome. I had a big long review going but let me distill it down Get ready for a long wait. Don't be surprised if you are 4 hours getting outta there. Give it 2.5-3 hours to get in to the patient care room, and then another freaking 30+ mins waiting on the exit paperwork The guy I dealt with at the counter, def needs customer experience counseling, he was cold and rude to me. The RNP that saw me, well he was awesome and saved this from being a 1 star review. My experience is they need to remove Urgent from their name because they took so long. Checked in at 2:06, it is currently 4:19 and I still haven't seen the doctor. Man at the front said I should only be here for 2 hours. I wanted to walk away then because it didn't seem that busy for a 2 hour exam time but I needed the physical! Now its looking more like 3-4 hours. Came to get an employment drug test done. I arrived at 8:05 (they open at 8am) and waited with about 6 other patients - only one of which was there for a drug test. I had called the day before and verified my drug test kit was ready to try and speed up the process. I signed in and was given a clip board with one form on it- which I filled out and returned at 8:07. They said they didn't have any email from my employer for my drug test. I said "I called yesterday and the girl said it was here". The girl responded with "who was it?" To which I said "I didn't get her name". She checked the computer again and said she had nothing for me. I asked her to check again and voila! It was in the folder for received drug kits. I waited.... and waited.... and waited. Then at 8:48 I was called up to get my license and given a second form. I filled this out and handed it back to them at 8:49 (it was really just two signatures). I have no idea why this form was not given to me with the first or why my license wasn't collected at the beginning. At 9:06 I received my license back. At 9:25 I finally was called for my drug test. The wait time was unacceptable. There was one individual ahead of me that received a drug test. The drug test is literally a pee test and each individual is given a total of 4 minutes to complete it. While waiting the hour + to be called, I noticed all the staff was congregating and drinking coffee and having personal conversations rather than enter paperwork where applicable. Do not come here- they do not value your time and take too long for simple tasks. I lost 2 hours where I should have been at work. read more

I showed up at 10 am for a very simple TB test. The waiting room was full so I asked how long was the wait. The receptionist stated it would be a total of 35-45 min, so I chose to wait. After 45 min the receptionist asked me which test was to be drawn, I reviewed the paperwork with him and again pointed out the TB test. I was then advised they hadn't received my paperwork from my employer that had been faxed over 2 days prior. After the paperwork was finally located, I was taken back to a patient room, where I had to endure med tech Des calling me 'sweetie' multiple times, and grimaced with each 'sweetie' reference as she dug around in my arm trying to locate a vein. She informed me that my veins 'rolled' and are hard to get. I advised her that she isn't going to dig around in my arm relentlessly and can send in someone else. She finally located a vein and lab collected. I politely asked her to stop calling me 'sweetie', as it is very unprofessional. She then asked me well what you would rather be called, ma'am? I said that's fine. 1 hour and 15 min later I'm finally out the door! Returned to this location for same tests-nothing has changed. Extremely long wait for a simple test, unprofessional staff. Not sure how this place stays open, wish my employer would choose s different facility to contract with, as I have to return here yearly for my TB test, and it's always the same horrible experience. read more

They take walk ins. They take workman's comp. So, you'd expect this to be some sort of skeevy place that you would never want to walk past, much less wander into. It really wasn't that bad, actually. I had to get approval to return to work after my knee injury, so I was sent here, instead of having to report to work and wait for employee health to open before I could actually work. There was a lot of people, but all things considered, it took me a little bit over an hour to get through the entire process. Waiting room is as you'd expect, complete with old magazines and a tv playing some Discovery Health show or something. And, for the record, I have NOTHING against Discovery Health, I actually sort of enjoy it. I was slightly irritated that I had to get up to sign paperwork something like 5 times! I don't understand why they couldn't just slap it all on a clipboard and have me sit in a chair completely filling it all out instead of having to hobble up to the counter every two minutes. And the repetitiveness of my name being slaughtered... ugh. I was seen by a PA that seemed knowledgeable enough. He did a couple stress checks on my knee and I was on my way. They had shorts for me to put on, to spare the em-bare-ass-ment of a gown. I don't want to come here regularly, even if it wasn't so bad. read more

Literally the WORST experience of my life. Very unprofessional, untimely & unknowledgeable staff. I went for a prescreening drug test for a job. The woman doing my follicle test was SEVERELY unprofessional. I had a section of my natural hair left out for her to sample since my hair was in a braided style. She refused to sample available hair, went into the lobby area & spoke loudly w the other employees saying "HER HAIR IS FAKE." I completely took down my hairstyle & came back the next day for the test. At the end, she asked me to rate my experience. I gave it a poor rating & looked at me very angrily & asked why. I felt like the evaluation should've been private, but she was trying to intimidate me. Not to mention that I called her boss & he was always "on lunch break" & never called back. read more

I came here because my employer sent me here for to a work injury. From the onset I thought it was just another urgent Care facility, after waiting so long, they finally called me in. Almost immediately I witnessed the unprofessionalism. The tech that assisted me continuously laughed and cracked jokes using his earpiece communicator. It seemed like he just was not focused on the task at hand. It was obvious he was flirting with girl at the from desk. He repeated questions to me several times, like asking about my last tetanus shot and how I cut myself. The procedure was sloppy, he kept guessing at things, and at one point the doctor came in and turned on the examine light for him. He just laughed. It definitely was amateur hour at Concentra that day. Do yourself a favor, go to a real clinic. read more

I understand it's the weekend and you don't have many options, but pick a different option than Concentra. I wish I had gone to Yelp before I made this mistake today. Here is my story which, like most others on this page, suggests there must be a better option. I have a bunion on my left big toe joint and it occasionally gets inflamed.The doctor typically prescribes a round of steroids in the form of a predisone blister pack which starts with a 24 - 30 mg dose (six tabs) and ramps down the dosage during each of the six day round. That stuff works, and I am usually walking normally within a few hours. I came in today because my foot was hurting and my doctor is closed on Saturday. I would normally tough it out to avoid urgent care, but my daughter's birthday is tomorrow and I wanted to make sure I was able to get around normally for our family's celebration. I told the doctor exactly what was going on and what is normally prescribed, multiple times. Dr Palm decided he wanted to give me a steroid shot in addition to the oral steroid prescription. I told him the oral steroids work fine, but he said "I went to an extra week of training to learn how to do injections so we are going to do an injection." I couldn't tell if he was joking. That should have been a red flag, but I let him do it for some reason. It hurt badly at first but it started to get numb fairly quickly because he put lidocaine in the shot. He jammed the needle directly into the bone spur in multiple places. It was painful, but it did feel better when he was done, because it was numb. They said my insurance indicated no need for payment and I was good to go. I should have asked for an itemized bill anyway. I have no idea how much I will get a bill for yet, but I'm certain it is more than if they just wrote me a prescription for prednisone. I'm feeling pretty naive right now. A couple minutes after getting in my car and starting to drive home, the numbness started to wear off and my joint started to hurt more and more every minute. By the time I got home, it hurt far more than it did when I went to the clinic. For at least an hour or two I could think of nothing else. It has been six hours since I left the clinic and the pain is not as bad as it was, but it is still worse than before I went in even after taking a dose of oral steroid. I am pretty sure he bruised my joint by jamming the needle into the bone spur. I certainly looks worse than before. He also didn't want to prescribe me the same prednisone blister pack everyone else has for this same condition. Instead he prescribed me ten 20 mg methylprednisolone tablets. By comparison, the blister pack contains 4 or 5 mg tablets and you disperse you dosages throughout your day. There is no good way to taper off of the tablets he prescribed or disperse them through your day because they are a high dosage. Not sure why, but he would not listen to me. I feel like I was taken. I feel that he was going to order a procedure that he could bill for unless I protested profusely. Even if that is the case, it would be more effective to do so if the procedure was actually helpful. Fortunately for you, the reader, his tactics backfired this time so I am pissed enough to warn you. I will never be so naive again. Take control of you heathcare! Do not let the doctor push you around! If you know an inexpensive, reasonable treatment that has worked for you in the past, do not try new things with an urgent care provider. If they suggest billable procedures that you feel my be unnecessary you have the right to say no. Save experimentation for your REAL doctor who knows your history and will probably only suggest something new if previous methods are no longer effective. If you must go to urgent care, please do not go here. If you are stuck in the waiting room right now, get up and leave or make sure Dr Palm is not the guy you see. Good luck. I was visiting from out of town for an event at COTA and came down with an awful norovirus. Having spent thousands of dollars to be in town, I knew I needed IV fluids and an anti-emetic or my weekend was going to be ruined. After checking me in, the gentleman at the counter saw my discomfort and immediately got me into a room. They took my medical history, vitals and symptoms, brought an anti-emetic, then asked if I wanted to get some fluids in me. No fuss, no muss. Everyone was really friendly and dedicated to making their patients comfortable. Much thanks to the folks at Concentra for getting me back on my feet! read more

My husband saw a Concentra doctor in the evening, and by morning he was having an extreme reaction to the prescription he had been given (dizziness and vomiting). I called the clinic to find out what to do for a reaction to meds he had been given the night before, and was told "Everyone in the back is busy, but someone will call you in about an hour." Two hours later, I called back, and was told by the same person that "There are only two MA's here, and they're extremely busy. They'll call you back when the get the chance." She never asked what the reaction was, or what medication he had been given. I have enough sense to have gone to the ER if it had been a deadly reaction, but THEY DIDN'T EVEN ASK. Seriously, people -- Someone could DIE because of the incompetence of the people at this so-called "medical center." Go ANYWHERE but here. read more

Let me start by saying, I'm a health care professional, and I would not go here. I came here for a company mandated tuberculosis screening test. Waited over an hour for a procedure that takes about 13 seconds to administer. Came back two days later to have the test read and waited over an hour again and then asked how long it would be. They said "Oh, I think we forgot about you." I lost two hours of my life here. I would have paid for the test elsewhere to have gotten them back. read more

Slowest place I've ever been. I'm still here. I got here at 9:00, it's now 12:30. Nobody has any idea what's going on. It's a work physical that I have done annually. This normally takes 30 minutes. Also, they cant find my employer and so I offered to pay and just get reimbursed. Their credit card machine has been down all week apparently. read more

Took my step-daughter here because she was really sick and needed attention at 8pm at night. Even though it was very close to closing time, the staff were friendly enough, navigated the Tricare confusion, and the Physician's Assistant on staff took good care of her. He was even amusing. In the end, it was nothing more than throwing antibiotics at the problem and waiting for it to go away. But isn't that about 3/4 of what we pay doctors for, anyway? This place takes Tricare and isn't ridiculously rude. That's impressive all on its own. If you have Tricare and can't find a doctor, I definitely suggest Concentra, or at least this location. read more

I went here for an employer mandated hearing exam and the wait was horrible. 90+ minutes for a test that takes less than 10 minutes and requires no doctor. I had already filled out the paperwork and they promptly ignored every request that my employer's paperwork requested. The exam itself was about 6 minutes long. After the exam they put me into a patient room for 25+ minutes before simply telling me I could leave. I have no idea why they did this. Basically it seems like Concentra has no value for the time of those they provide services. I would not return here for any purpose and will be recommending against using this facility to my employer. read more

Worst health care available. Check in clerks were rude. Doctor caused more pain and injury than before we got there. Physical therapists were great. Their opinion differed GREATLY from the Doctor. Patient can't hold a pencil but is expected to drive about 209 miles a day with no issue. Would not allow us a second opinion. read more

This place is a joke, it gouges customers after their visit. They administer medicine on site without informing, discussing, or even mentioning additional cost to patients. I went to be treated for a horrible sore throat. I paid the required $160 fee, was tested for strep. I was given 2 shots that cost an additional $160. Although that is "hard to swallow" I have accepted that. However, also on the bill I received, there was an additional charge of $315 for "Office Visit New Detailed". Which is completely absurd. My experience here was awful. The wait times are ridiculous and the NP I saw had no bedside manner at all. The NP was rude, did not take time to listen to my concerns (and I am the patient), was judgmental and showed no human compassion, he had a very bad "God Complex." Horrible service, depending on one of the many people you see - we saw three different sets of doctors and nurses who all gave different advice every visit. Depending on who you talk to, you will receive conflicting advice for something as simple as outpatient stitches. The first doctor said to put bacitracin on the wound and to replace the bandage daily, giving us several packets of the gel. Upon the final visit, that doctor said the wound was not as healed as it should be because "we put on too much ointment." The nurse, who was present during the first visit, then informs is that we were only supposed to put it on on the first day and ever again for the following week. Unbelievable. I cannot wait to get a proper PCP and never deal with this urgent care b.s. ever again. read more

I hate this place. Be prepared to sit in a waiting room for 2-3 hours while staff laugh and giggle and NOT WORK in the hallways. No estimate of a wait time, no consideration for the fact that you did NOT plan to waste your entire day sitting and waiting for something that takes 10-15 minutes at most.
