Don't waste your time or money like I did. I would have been better off just going across the street to the ER. I called ahead to say I had been bitten by an unvaccinated cat--clearly a rabies concern. I was told I could be treated there, but the person failed to tell me they don't have the initial shot given after exposure. That's basic medical information that should have been provided at that time. During the call, I asked specifically about billing because I know that's a big complaint about urgent care. I was also told the visit would only cost my insurance copay, but after calling to complain to my insurance company about this practice location, I found I will also receive an additional $106 bill - for what I have no idea because I was not actually treated for the bite wound. After an hour of filling out all intake paperwork on my phone in the lobby and then waiting, the PA briefly examined me and then told me to "call around to local Walgreens" myself to locate the rabies immunoglobulin, since their clinic doesn't stock it "because it's too expensive." Every step of this visit involved misinformation / total mystery, wasted time and unnecessary expense. The only reason I'm leaving 2 stars is because I was promptly contacted by someone at headquarters after responding to their after-visit survey in which I said DO NOT RECOMMEND. I scheduled an appointment online for 11 am on 12/8 ,arrived 15 minutes early. I had a rash show up and was concerned about shingles. No one at the front desk, checked in at laptop. The office personnel was not engaging, she said I needed to entire my ID which I enter. She stated I had no copay then stated she needed my credit card, stating there could be other expenses. This place is very and when I say very I mean very unprofessional . I went in to get some lab work done I was told that I would get a call within 2-3 days. I didn't hear anything from them, so i called on day 4 to get an update and was told that my lab work has not came back yet. So who ever I spoke with verified my contact number and email. She said that someone would call me when they get in later that day or the next day.. Well I ended up having to call them back again, only to find out that my lab work came in the day before. when I ask the lady who answered the phone,Why didn't someone give me a call, she said that someone attempted to call me and I didn't answer and there was no voicemail. well , there's two things wrong with that statement i have my missed call log and there is no missed calls and I have no email communication from them at all. The lady that I was speaking to on my initial phone call was very nice, polite and courteous.And she told me that she would send me an email that I would have to verify first before I can see my actual medical results. Hang up the phone and I waited to receive my email from them.Well thirty minutes passed and I never got an email. i call back and then I had to speak with this very rude and unprofessional lady named Deanna. she proceeded to argue with me about them. Call me the previous dand when I told her that I have my missed call log. She's still continued to put doubt in what I was saying.. what happened next? Really upset me. She told me that my handwriting wasn't great and that's the reason why they missed dialed my phone number. i even gave her opportunity to correct yourself by asking her again and that's when her mannerisms kicked in and she said that my writing was not legible. that's when I asked to speak with a manager or supervisor and I was told that the manager or supervisor has already left for the day. her voice was filled with sarcasm. when I asked her what her name was. She proceeded to spell it out for me in a tone as if I was stupid. So What I took from that call. Was that that representative had no fear? No heart about being reprimanded or possibly being terminated because of her actions when I asked to speak with management. she had no empathy, no respect for the patient.Her job responsibility are the company that she works for. Grateful to Texas MedClinic. I was a walk-in patient and waited about 20 minutes to be seen. Easy check in (bring your phone) with plenty of seating. All the staff were upbeat and helpful despite working Mother's Day. I was seen by a really talented NP who was able to spot my stress fracture before the radiologist got back with an official positive diagnosis. They were very efficient getting scripts written and sent to my pharmacy, plus a referral. Very easy seamless experience. read more

New Year's Day care- I've been here twice before in the past few years and have had 5 star experiences. Today was a bit different. I was seen within 90 min of booking online which was great, and I was able to wait at home. The front desk employee was so nice. The care I received felt okay, not great. The nurse nearly choked me trying to swab pus my on tonsil which isn't protocol. And she sneezed into the air with her mask down and didn't cover her mouth. The doctor acted a bit strange but seemed okay. She also coughed hard right in front of me, but with her mask on. While I was waiting for my swab results I heard many employees coughing, laughing and talking loudly about lip filler. It just didn't feel extremely professional in there at all. What bothered me the most was that I couldn't even get my prescription today because the pharmacy was closed since it is a holiday. It would've been great if the clinic told me this, but I had to call back to investigate when I didn't get any call from the pharmacy for hours. This bothered me because I paid more for "urgent" care and couldn't get my meds in an urgent manner, so basically suffering for another day. Unfortunately, I did not have the best experience at Texas MedClinic. I was experiencing a fever of 103+ for two days and decided to go to Texas MedClinic to err on the side of caution. The clinic itself is easy to find with plenty of parking, and the waiting room was very comfortable. But, the service was not as great. I waited 40+ minutes to be seen by the doctor and another 30+ minutes once I was taken into an exam room. Since I had gone during the work day, this was a lot of time that I couldn't afford to lose. The doctor seemed a bit young and nervous, and I didn't necessarily trust his judgement. They tested me for Covid and the Flu and eventually ran other tests that all came back negative. Instead of doing more investigating, I was told to go home and go to the ER if I got worse. So I paid and left. My fever actually got worse that night so I did go to the ER where they said I had an untreated infection. I was put on antibiotics and my fever broke same day. I'm not sure if Texas MedClinic missed something, but it was very complicated bouncing all over to different doctors, paying multiple bills, and being sick for days without answers. I'm hoping this was a one-time fluke and other patients are having better experiences here than I did. read more

Great experience; brought my 4 year old in. The staff here was so great, especially for not being a pediatric-focused facility. The nursing staff was *extremely* patient with a frazzled mom and exhausted toddler who *did not* want to give a urine sample.... for like 3 hours. Dr. Joe - so incredibly patient and kid-friendly. He helped our little one feel at ease, asking questions, showing her the stethoscope - so warm and calm for an urgent care clinic, I was blown away. Facility was very clean and safe, and the online checkin and paperwork - so easy and streamlined. Took me 5 minutes to book, and even less time to be taken back when we arrived. I can't say I wanted to spend my Sunday afternoon at an urgent care clinic begging a toddler to pee in a cup; but this was a great customer service and care experience. read more

i've gone to this urgent care over the years. the wait time varies but is often long. I appreciate being able to email them my health history and medication list, as both are long & complex. I think my doing that may be why the Dr who saw me took me seriously, (i saw he had printed out my health history and had highlighted things in it) and spent more time with me than others have. I was super anxious, wayyyyg overtired, and experiencing very intense restless leg (and other parts of my body) syndrome with many forceful spasms, all my muscles in my body were tightly clenched and i couldn't get them to relax and I was also in a lot of pain (this was due to a recent medication change, and my having a bad reaction to it), which I told them. So, at first I was disappointed because Dr. Joe told me that they couldn't give me muscle relaxers bc they would amplify the effects of the drug i was on that I was badly reacting to, so I felt like crying because i didn't know what to do, how to get help. Dr. Joe recommended I go back to my original dosage of the medication, and took the time to show me stretches i could do, and recommended that I take pedialyte or coconut water, and use arnica cream. i followed his advice, got the arnica tablets for leg cramps (i took 6) and the arnica cream for arthritic relief, which i rubbed all over myself. i drank coconut water and went back to my usual dosage of the medication, and did stretches and doing these things worked; got a full 8 hrs of sleep and only had a few leg spasms the whole night! my muscles feel relaxed now, and I am super grateful for that. I appreciate Dr. Joe listening and taking me seriously and recommending all he did, bc i am now back to my normal level of poor health, which is so much less bad than it was before Dr. Joe's help. Stellar experience. I came in a little after 6 PM on New Year's Eve convinced I needed a prescription to get me over a sinus infection. A few minutes into my appointment, I found out that I had COVID instead. While there wasn't much they could do as far as symptom relief, the doctor did mention getting me enrolled for an antibody infusion at Seton. Two days later, I'd still not heard from Seton and called back twice. The first time, the doctor promised to follow up and the second time, the staff found some paperwork that hadn't been given to me to get the process going. No harm, no foul ultimately. Today was what got them the fifth star, though. As a state employee, I need to have a doctor's note anytime I'm out sick for more than 3 days. I called Texas MedClinic this morning and they told me I'd need to come in. I did the online check in process (FYI, it doesn't save any of your info from previous visits) and showed up about 20 minutes early. About 5 minutes before the appointment, I got a text from the staff and went up to the counter. Turns out that they didn't know exactly what I needed and they followed up with the doctor. I got my "return to work" letter with no office visit and no charge. Texas MedClinic may have some occasional snafus but their commitment to customer service and their convenience make them an easier choice than trying to get a doctor's office visit and significantly easier than an ER visit. read more

When I went to Texas MedClinic to get care, I think there might have been one other patient there, yet I still had a long wait. For no real reason. But a bigger problem was that when they mailed me my bill, I immediatley paid online. They asked for my email address so I assumed I would get a receipt via email like EVERY OTHER BUSINESS THAT TAKES ONLINE PAYMENTS. But, no. I called and asked for it. I was told that it takes 24 hours to process so I would get it the next day. But no. Then, a week later (today, Tuesday), I called and was told that they could mail out a statement USPS on Friday. On Friday!!? They can't email me a receipt at all and can't put statement in the mail til Friday. Like many other patients, I need the receipt to get reimbursed by my insurance company. These company policies make no sense AT ALL. I am not sure why it is in their interest to delay proof of the payment I made immediately. Or why they can take a payment electronically but can't furnish a receipt that way. Of courses they can. I am mystified by why they want to make it hard on their patients. Easily made an appointment online last night for a time late this morning. I was able to do all my insurance and medical info online right after I made the appointment. The survey online determines whether or not you'll need to enter the building and I didn't have to come inside which was awesome. About 5 minutes after texting the office that I had arrived a nurse came outside to take my temperature an administer the nasal swab - all by rolling down my window. About 20 minutes after the swab another nurse brought out a paper with the results and an explanation of the test results and their accuracy. This is the second COVID rapid test I've had and I will definitely return to Texas Med Clinic for more in the future because of how easy they made it. Just for those curious, I submitted my insurance info and my test was free whereas at another urgent care it was $20. The swab was in both nostrils - not the super deep single swab. TLDR: Dr. Lizette Gonzales diagnosed me with Covid-19 even though my test came back negative. She ordered me to go into quarantine, which I did. She was right. I had Covid even though I tested negative. Dr. Gonzales's experienced advice stopped me from spreading Coronavirus. Long version: Around the beginning of July, I was exposed to someone who tested positive for Covid-19. Around that time, I started to develop symptoms. Fatigue, mild muscle soreness, runny nose, and a sore throat. But almost every cold I've ever had was worse. I lucked out and developed a mild case. The first test I could get was an antibodies* test. I figured why not? I still planned on taking the antigen test. I took the antibodies test on 7/6 and it came back negative. I scheduled my first antigen test for 7/8. My symptoms were at their worse around that time. That first antigen test came back negative. But Dr. Gonzalez said I had Covid. She told me to ignore the test results. She saw false negatives all the time. She was sure I had Covid based on my symptoms and exposure. Go into quarantine, she ordered. I did as she ordered. My symptoms cleared up a day or two after the antigen test. Had Dr. Gonzalez not diagnosed me with Covid, I would have gone about my normal business and spread Coronavirus all the while. But I stayed in quarantine. Quarantine kind of sucks. But I didn't want to kill someone by spreading Coronavirus. Yesterday my quarantine period ended and I took my second antigen test. Negative. Today I took the antibodies test again. Positive. Recap of my testing history: 7/6 Antibodies: Negative 7/8 Antigen: Negative 7/22 Antigen: Negative 7/23 Antibodies: Positive Based on these results, Dr. Gonzalez was right. Around the time I took the first antibodies test on 7/6 and the time I took my second antibodies test on 7/23, I was exposed to Coronavirus and developed Covid-19. If Dr. Gonzales just relied on the 7/8 antigen test results and diagnosed me Covid-negative, I would not have quarantined. I would have exposed Coronavirus to whomever I came in contact with. *Antibodies are the things your immune system develops to kill a bug before it kills you. Antigens are tests to see if you have a bug currently. read more

It was late and after deciding against an ER visit we came here instead. Texas MedClinic's friendly staff called him up quickly, diagnosed his issue as a sprain, and got him set up with pain killers and a boot in no time. The staff was sympathetic and efficient, and stayed a little late to get our issue taken care of. I personally hadn't been to an urgent care facility before and was admittedly skeptical of the concept, but this was a great experience. read more

Update 11/09/21 - Reached out to billing yet again and was essentially told there is nothing they can do since the bill has been sent to collections. Ridiculous. Original review - Used Texas MedClinic for a number of coronavirus tests over the last year. It was easy to schedule an appointment, but often appointment times were pushed with very little notice because of how busy the clinic was. Appointments themselves were quick and easy. I chose to wait in my car for each test and even was given the option to take the test from my car. My main issue is with billing. My insurance covers COVID tests, but Texas MedClinic charges a specialty co-pay even though I never once saw a doctor. Fine, no problem. However, after one of the tests, I was told that the wait was exceptionally long and they would call me with my test results. I was charged $80 for a phone call that lasted less than 2-3 minutes. I went in to get a bug bite looked at because I had bruising around it and wanted to make sure I was not infected. After seeing the doctor all that was said was "it looks like a bug bite but if there is not temperature change you should be fine." I get a bill today to pay $163!? For me to just get information that I already knew myself. I don't understand how the billing works or how you get charged. But I literally went in - no prescriptions were made no tests done and I have to this amount its absurd. Are you telling me going in to get a check up costs over $200?
