Cole slaw was crazy good (really nice fresh veggie mix and not too mayo-y), red beans and rice (with added andouille sausage for just a buck extra) was off the charts good (it's one of my favorite sides and this was far and away the best I've ever had). Freshly made. * fried deviled eggs - very good. * fried pickle chips - very good. * cheesy potatoes- a bit grainy. * cream cheese corn - good. * Onion strings: very good spice/flavor and texture. * burnt ends: very old - not just a day or two - these were multiple days old. * sausage: very dry, poor taste. * turkey: extremely dry. Probably the worst turkey I have ever received from a BBQ restaurant - basically inedible. * ribs: multiple days old - old and dry - old ribs have a different texture than fresh smoked ribs. She got the mac and cheese with a side of apple sauce. I tried the mac and cheese. It was ok. She didn't eat anything, but kids are weird. Her mom took it home for her to eat later. My other niece got the boneless wings and loved them. Hers came with tortilla chips. Altogether our bill was about $65 before tip. We had water to drink. I might go back again. If I don't, it's only because I try to eat healthy and there's a lot of temptations here. I give 5 stars because most everything was very good and the server was very nice too. I do not eat a great deal of meat but when I do... I want quality. I was ill prepared for the wonderful experience that awaited me. The person that helped me, Brian, was terrific. He was super knowledgeable about products, preparation and taste. He even steered me away from higher priced items for lower priced things he thought I would like better. He was thorough and patient with my endless questions. He is very well suited to his job. They have all sorts of items in this quaint shop. They have cheese, jams, jellies, bread, eggs, kitchen equipment. From outside the shop, it does not appear to be very large inside and it isn't necessarily large.. just well packaged. The meat selection is vast... beef, pork, buffalo, chicken, lamb.... in every configuration you can imagine. They have steaks, ground meat, jerky. I learned so much just talking to Brian. There is ample parking and this store is located in a strip mall so there is easy access. Everything is sparkling clean and has a very nice atmosphere about the shop. Tremendously impressed with this gem of a shop.
