    Ahi tuna nachos
    Laurel S.

We ventured west for our anniversary dinner instead of going into KC and what a gem this place was. The lemon drop martini was delicious. We shared the ahi tuna nachos which were the absolute star of the evening. We also shared the fish and chips and they were also great. They comped us an anniversary dessert, peanut butter pie, which was yummy and not nearly as over sweet as I expected. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place itself it is so cute.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Would love to grab a patio seat next time.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our waitress was good and we had an open table certificate that wouldn't pull up due to limited cell service but they were happy to honor it anyway. I will definitely be back.

The pasta was was great at Mass street . I was k. Lawrence to visit my son as he attends KU. He suggested a meal at Mass street . The bread was divine! Well made by a local bakery and tasty. My son had the fish and chips and it was very tasty, fried to perfection and came with a generous side of fries. I had the pasta crawfish pasta and couldn't get enough . The crawfish was well made and the sauce put the flavor over the top. The service was attentive as we finished our meals. Next time I'm in Lawrence I will be back for seconds!

We went to Mass Street Fish House for the first time the other night and had an enjoyable meal. First off, our server was EXCELLENT. Really personable and on top of everything. Major appreciation for her (wish we remembered her name!). My wife has non-standard food allergies (cilantro, high fructose corn syrup) and she was great at sorting out ingredients in the bread and other items for us so she could eat without concern. We had an assortment of fresh oysters and they were superb. Don't know how Mass Street gets their oysters but wish we could find more freshness like this in the midwest. Had the tinned razor clams as another starter and they were FANTASTIC. Can't wait to go back and get them again. For our mains we had the pan roasted salmon and the trout. The trout was served with hummus and a pork butter (?). The trout was great. The bed of hummus and pork butter not exactly to our liking. Nonetheless, the fish was excellently prepared and we had a great dinner. Looking forward to going back and trying the oysters and the tinned razor clams again!

This has to be my favorite all time restaurant! The steak is amazing and cooked to perfection. By far better than any steak in California! Kansas beef is second to none. I live in California and travel to Kansas a couple of times a year. I cannot miss going to dinner while I'm there! They have amazing new cocktails regularly and the oysters are spot on. I can't wait for my next visit!

This is always a great dinner choice when I'm in Lawrence. This was my second visit and it was delicious. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space is decent sized. The lighting inside is nice. They also have a good sized patio.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service has always been excellent. I started with a seasonal cocktail. It was perfectly balanced and the alcohol wasn't overwhelming. They also have wine and beer if cocktails aren't your thing. The local bread with butter and sea salt is a much for a starter. The bread is fresh, chewy, and salty. The butter is also delicious. So simple and so good. I decided to try the shrimp bucatini pasta: garlic cream, white wine, butter, herbs, Fresno chili. I would definitely recommend this entree. It came with five pretty large tail on shrimp. The shrimp was really fresh and wasn't overcooked. The sauce was light but rich. Definitely garlicky. And the pasta was perfectly al dente and the perfect shape for the dish. The portion size was good. It wasn't a giant mountain of pasta, but definitely a generous serving. My boyfriend opted for the Low Tide: 4 oysters, 1/2 pound cocktail shrimp, 1/2 pound snow crab. This is a great deal because it's so much food and a decent variety. I did get to try a cocktail shrimp and some of the snow crab. Again, everything was super fresh, well cooked, and high quality. If you're looking for a nice restaurant with delicious, fresh food, definitely check them out.

Finding great even good seafood in the Midwest feels like such a crap shoot often. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Mass St Fish House has some quality seafood with a relaxing but still elevated aesthetic.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The bar is gorgeous and the bartenders make some really unique drinks like the "better brine" which my partner loved. The seafood is definitely very good, I'm not going to say it's the best seafood though. It's just so damn difficult to get the best in the Midwest. And that's more of a regional feature than any restaurants fault. I really enjoyed the Low Tide order of snow crab, cocktail shrimp and oysters. The shrimp tasted excellent and the cocktail sauce had that classic taste. The crab was really good, no empty claws or anything weird like that. Lots of meat in our cluster and the oysters were okay granted I'm not the biggest oyster fan so take that with a grain of salt. I'd be interested to go back and try some of the other dishes here such as their lobster pasta dish. Fun spot with really friendly service.

Mussels accompanied by House Made Bread and Butter

I really enjoyed my evening at Mass St. First off, the dirty martini complete with blue cheese stuffed olives was so smooth and delicious. The perfect palette opener for the oysters and mussels to come next. I tried a variety of fresh oysters and then moved onto the mussels. Additionally I ordered the house made bread and butter, perfect for dipping in all that good sauce the mussels sat in. There were three gentleman behind the bar, two bartenders and one man who was shucking oysters. They all were super friendly and offered great menu/oyster suggestions. I would for sure eat here again!

Mussels & Fries (wouldn't recommend the mussels) and the local bread & butter

We came here for a date night yesterday. I saw they have happy hour daily from 4-6, which includes several drink and food specials. We got there early, around 4:30, and were seated right away. When we left around 5:30, the restaurant was full, and they were only seating parties who had reservations inside. We ordered the mussels and fries off the happy hour menu, and my husband ordered a hh beer, as well as a fish taco. In addition, we ordered the bread and butter, the shrimp bucatini, and the crab legs. We enjoyed everything except the mussels, which were pretty grainy. Overall, I would recommend Mass St. Fish House for a date night or a night out with friends.

OYSTERS - all I know is they're from MA

Happy hour 4p-6p Monday through Friday. Prices aren't super great for HH but I love Mass Street and will go any time. Service during my visit on 6/24 was fantastic, I saw at the bar because I was a solo diner this time around. Cod taco is so tasty!!! The HH MA Oysters were good but there are so many types I have definitely had better. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The environment is quite loud but when I locked in to my drink, food, and another patron to my left it was easy to drown out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I can't wait to return!

Enjoyable experience! Tried lots of new things! Oysters, caviar, clam. I got the crab. It was delicious. Waiter was nice, they gave free oysters after they forgot about us. But I don't mind. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere was great, we got an outdoor seat.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was somehow warm out there though.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

We got the ahi tuna nachos, shrimp cocktail, fish taco, fish and chips, and lobster roll. Everything was good and tasted fresh, but nothing really wowed me. The lobster roll was a little bland for my taste. Definitely don't skip the dessert! The service was great. We weren't expecting them to give us a free birthday dessert! I LOVE the ambience. It has a fresh, dark wood feel with outdoor seating. Great place for a date night or special occasion.

Scallops (comes with 3). Lobster pasta, my favorite! Emerald City, a drink with pistachio liqueur.

Service was friendly! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance was classy, but not stuffy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The drink selection is unique and menu rotates seasonally. They have a happy hour from 4-6, though it's only a few dollars off regular menu pricing. I went on my birthday and received a free dessert!

There is a door and stairs up to the service area so if you have trouble with stairs it may not be a great option. The service was quick, delicious and fulfilling. The tab was $30+ for miso, poke, and Japanese soda so a little pricey. But I expect being 1 block from the T Mobile center their rent might be high so the tab seems fair.
