My opinion but they have Best barbecue in town! Service is awesome too, never disappoint!

Service and ambiance was good, but, it could not make up for the extremely poor meat quality. I was told this BBQ restaurant had some of the best BBQ in the area - absolutely not - the meat I was served was dry and old. Very disappointing that this was acceptable for this restaurant to sell. I Purchased: * Chicken wrap: very good. Freshly made. * fried deviled eggs - very good. * fried pickle chips - very good. * cheesy potatoes- a bit grainy. * cream cheese corn - good. * Onion strings: very good spice/flavor and texture. * burnt ends: very old - not just a day or two - these were multiple days old. * sausage: very dry, poor taste. * turkey: extremely dry. Probably the worst turkey I have ever received from a BBQ restaurant - basically inedible. * ribs: multiple days old - old and dry - old ribs have a different texture than fresh smoked ribs. Suggestion - please do not slice meats until the customer orders the meat (except burnt ends). read more

I've gone to this place several times, and it is GREAT. However- The food has been changing, and not really for the better. the quality has remained good for all the old items, but every time they update their menu, the new item(s) is identifiably worse than the old items, so go quick before they swap it all their best stuff! The service is okay, most of the workers are either high school kids begrudgingly trying to make some cash or dedicated managers that love the establishment, so it's about a fifty-fifty split. The ambience is decent- somewhere between classic bbq and diner. It's neither the fanciest nor the cleanest, definitely leaving something to be desired BUT not much! read more

Adding an update as this spot has come in clutch a few years in a row now. Friend and I have a tradition to get together for skeet shooting nearby each November, often needing a spot with a dog friendly patio afterword. This could not have fit the bill any better than it did. For starters, the perfect fall weather, paired with the ample picnic benches, games, and dog-friendly nature of this spot should be enough to catch your attention. The friendly server also happened to have a similar dog to mine, and her energy added to the great vibes overall. The food was good and hit the spot. First time in I had a chicken sandwich and while it was a bit generic, or maybe a better term is replicable, it still landed for me. This time I got more of a BBQ platter with ribs, pulled pork, fries and Texas toast. It all was good, particularly the BBQ sauce. The ribs feel right off the bone and the pulled pork had a nice flavor. Good option if you're outside of Lawrence in the Eudora area. read more

Someone gave me a gift card, so when I happened to be in Eudora, I stopped by. Wow! This place is bright, clean and staffed by very friendly and attentive people. I ordered the pulled pork poutine & iced tea, $16 total cost, and was advised that I'd need a to-go box, readily available on the counter. The food came fast, so fresh and such a good spin on a Canadian classic. The fries are good, the pork is soft & yummy and the deep fried cheese curds are the cherry on top! I'm taking home half the tray (yep- one serving covers an 8x12" tray!), but doubt it will see tomorrow. This place is a gem, and if you haven't stopped by, you should! It's hard to keep barbecue fresh, but this probably shouldn't have been served. I like to try it again to see if maybe it was just a bad night but not sure. There is a huge selection of meats here, I stuck with the mac/ cheese and chicken and didn't regret it one bit. This was such a great place. Order at the counter then they bring the meal to you. Sit where you want. 100% recommend the Mac & cheese with smoked meats on top. This family-owned BBQ restaurant served up great food with friendly service at a good price during my dine-in lunch visit. The pulled pork sandwich with choice of side ($7.50) was served nine minutes after I ordered at the counter. It stood three inches tall, with a fresh, buttered, and nicely toasted bun, and plenty of flavorful, somewhat moist, somewhat crunchy pulled pork. I savored every bite of the baked beans, which included three types of beans and generous amounts of meat. Mmm! Four sauces were available - sweet, regular, steady sweet with a slow heat, and hot habanero. The regular sauce tasted great with the pulled pork. The dining area was nice and clean, with blues background music. I also noticed a spacious, grassy patio area. Desserts, beer, liquor, and a happy hour (3:00 PM - 6:30 PM Tu - Fr) were available. A traditional, complimentary pickle spear, and a Carolina style pulled pork sandwich menu item would have been nice additions. Stopped over here on our way to Kansas City. We came from California and wow Kansas barbeque is 5000000x better than even our best ones in San Diego and so cheap in comparison to California prices. Tried the brisket, ribs, jalapeno cornbread, and rack and cheese. The rack and cheese is by far my favorite. I hope we can go back to try some more. read more

Tried out Barbwire BBQ today. A couple items were unavailable due to distribution availability by the sounds of it. We ordered the fried cheese curds, fried green beans, cubed brisket, pulled pork, coleslaw, cream cheese corn, Mac and cheese (plain), and cheesy potatoes. I was a little disappointed our shareables arrived at the same time as our meals. The cheese curds were less than hoped for; a lot of them didn't have cheese in the shell and we're a little chewy IMO. The green beans were delicious! The right amount of breading and the green beans were fresh. The pulled pork was dry. The brisket was good though. The Mac and cheese was good, but could have used a touch more seasoning. The slaw was good and had a vinegary kick to it, which I enjoyed. The cream cheese corn and cheesy potatoes were both good. The interior decor is no fuss cute and was clean. There is also local artwork displayed. There is a nice patio area and would be great for a fall day! It looks like there is a stage, so there might be live music. I had heard good things about the food, so had to try it myself! Went during lunch with co worker, we were a bit lost as to how to order or sit first and be waited on, but a gentleman came to counter and said to order with him when we were ready. There were menus on the wall. I went with the Haystack sandwich which was Turkey, pulled pork and brisket with onion straws and upgraded my side to try the macaroni and cheese. I was NOT disappointed. My favorite meat was the tiny chunked brisket, which was tender and flavorful. The sandwich was big and just fell apart when you picked it up. Keep plenty of napkins nearby. The macaroni came on a large rectangular cast iron skillet. I couldn't finish either dish because I was so full from all the yummy food. I went again yesterday and ordered the brisket sandwich with a side of cheesy potatoes. The cashier seemed in a rush and was a bit annoyed that I had 2 orders on separate bills. He backed out of the 2 orders and had me pay for mine and then re rang up the to go order. Never asked if I wanted a drink or anything, before I ran my card, So water it was.? Another young man took my friends order and was very friendly. He asked what kind of sauce she wanted and offered 4 types. We said regular and wanted to try the 3rd sauce as well. He said he would get us a sample, but if we wanted more, it would cost 50 cents each. (Strange when most bbq places have bottles out and available to use as you please.) You get 1 ketchup sized cup with your sauce and that is it, so use it sparingly. The cheesy potatoes were kind of dry and bland. They were not as large of a portion as the macaroni I got before or near the quantity as the french fries my friend got. I will get fries next time. There are several desserts in a case to choose from if you desire, yesterday was a large lemon cake you could purchase by the slice, some Individual brownies, and some type of small mason jar dessert. Overall the bbq is fantastic! The sides are hit or miss in portion size and taste, and they are a bit stingy with the sauce. The sliders are PACKED with some of the best brisket I've ever had and don't get me started on the bbq sause!! Don't be afraid of the Hot Habanero, the flavor is outstanding and the Slow Heat and Sweet were just as amazing... Not that their brisket needs any of it. Pulled up Yelp for some hints on what food adventure I would take today, it said go here! We pulled into a quaint parking lot and entered a very clean restaurant. The menus are up in the wall for easy reading. We order fried green Beans, they were the perfect crunch to crispness. We also orders the garlic cheese curds, these were mind blowing delicious. The chute sandwich on sourdough was dang right delicious, brisket was everything it should be. I ordered the Haystack and boy were those crispy onions the bomb. We went when they were just opening, so I am sure everything has worked itself out by now. That day they ran out of brisket so we ordered wagyu which was good but too expensive. Great place! Really nice guys and a cool setup. Nice outdoor space for music and for the kids to run around. The bbq was great, Mac and cheese was delish, and everyone cleaned their plates. We picked up a few shirts as souvenirs and the price was still cheaper than a bbq meal would have been back home in Colorado.
