We compared a few quotes before we chose to use Gene's services as concept materials. He bought samples when he came to inspect and was able to provide us with a free estimate. We were looking to replace our old carpets that had pet urines with a new one. Gene's communication was good in terms of what needs to be done: 1) remove the old carpet, 2) clean everything below including getting rid of the smell, and 3) install new carpet. We liked the approach that he would do everything in different steps that span multiple days. With the urine scents from the pet, we prefer the approach to be done correctly instead of rushing and finishing everything in the same. day. His team was very on time each time that they were here. They came a bit early usually 5-10 minutes and would wait a bit to come in (very punctual). We are happy with the final product, our new carpet. This review is long overdue. Rolando's crew has now done two jobs for me and bid on a third I never did - kept the old heating vents making it unnecessary. They touched up some errors from another installer and they added flooring to an area that needed it after we removed a cabinet. All of their work was completely flawless: underpayment, plank work, baseboards, nosing. This seems to be a small family business where each crew has at least one senior expert who knows exactly what he is doing, plus some learners. I can not recommend Concept Materials enough. Gene was fantastic and explained the process from the start. Everything was transparent and I knew the prices and what the company would/would not do. I was able to see some samples and keep them so I could see them in the light etc. The company has a lot of beautiful and reasonably priced laminate. Within four days Johnny and Isaac had leveled my floors where needed, rugs ripped up and gone, baseboards, and the laminate flooring I wanted in the downstairs kitchen, living room and two bathrooms. The team was gentle with my heavy items such as toilets, large desk and the fridge. Everything was put on cardboard and remained plugged as much as possible. Everyone was on time, worked efficiently, and the noise was at a minimum. Everyday the team let me know what they were working on and if they had a question. He was easy to schedule with - and then was very accommodating when I had to reschedule due to other subcontractor delays. One of the new tenants wanted to change carpet colors right before the carpet was installed - and Gene was happy to oblige.
